Several of the Red people were in ministry of revenue, Salt admin and other seemingly civil positions in this drama. So it seems like that's not the distinction at least. Could be wrong. But mostly I was being snarky 'cause it looks like he hasn't moved much from where he was.

I commented above about why I specifically focused on the heir aspect.

In the book he takes a concubine(s) b/c she can't have a son. That's why I said that. There was a reason for it previously. Now they would just have him do it, just b/c. And as "normal" as it may have been it's not like main wives liked it - AND as far as we can tell Master Yu doesn't have any concubines so it wouldn't even be a family norm.

Pride will not allow that.

If the writers have Young Master Yu take a concubine AFTER Yake gave him a son they (the writers) really REALLY don't like her. lol

This is why they should have married in Ganlin. Even with the new register, they are in the capital now and people are bound to know her backstory. IF the family is on his/their side that should quell any rumors potential backlash she might face.
