I was thinking outside of that. She could have loved him and never forgave him for that. I'm not expecting her to want to be with him. I just think she had no feelings for him at all.

So she really didn't love her husband, huh?

She makes it clear she doesn't want to live with all her family dead. The bonus was taking the other family down with her.

My only "complaint" about this series is I don't like how they episodes end. They are neither hard endings or cliffhangers. They just...end. It's kind of annoying.

Eh...I think your exaggerating a bit here. The transitions are fine. These aren't editing issues. There is also a lot of ground to cover - these early episodes are about setting the board. They did that well.

Man it's gonna be a mess when Prince Xin realizes that is his wife reincarnate.

She acts like a child. Please stop. I watch Rom-Coms all the time. It's a common issue with a lot of older modern c-dramas. They infantalize the female leads.

I'm glad I'm not the only who felt that way. I paused it to let it play out and have decided I'm good where I left it. lol

I think some writers of c-dramas and k-dramas think having the bad guy win is more realistic or something. But you have source material where that's not the case. You make the guy who actually has a legit right to the throne and was done wrong a "tragic" figure - and make the bad people "win" so to speak - when you could have wiped them both out and have your hero and heroine reign supreme. I don't get it.

It is what happened in the book. For some reason the writer decided the worst people should rule. Like the book seems so cool, I'm sad that version didn't make it as a series.

I still can't beleive they left that bratty emperor in charge and didn't properly take out the Empress Dowager. WTH was the point of everything then?

Hmm...now maybe I will look her up for different reasons. lol

Is she prudish in her other works? Ima have to look her up and see if she's worth watching so If I see her name in the future I'll know to avoid.

For example there's a director who's stories are gonna always have a sad ending. The leads are NEVER gonna get together. lol. A lot of time there's no reason for it other than that's how he like to end things. Even if I think the drama is interesting I avoid, b/c you already know the ending is gonna be sad or bittersweet.

I wonder if this writer/director is like that.
