"I'm leaning heavily towards the soul-swap "
The writer has been trying to merge two concepts and has done so rather poorly. I've settled on (mostly) reincarnation b/c that's the last thing the writer left us with, which is why the whole "even if you can't come back here" makes no sense.
A full soul swap theory doesn't really work either if they are never gonna take us back to the past to see Dansim's return to the Joeson timeline.
Writer was just making things up as she went along. lol.

Oh I have no problems with your speculation. I'm just laughing at how "made up" it seems. Like (and this isn't a dig) it read like fanfic. Like a whole nother story not based on anything we've seen thus far. And it's as likely to be true as anything else b/c hell...nothing is logically consistent in this show. I know nuance doesn't always come thru in these comments - but my commentary wasn't meant to be negative - I was just amused b/c your comment felt like a whole new story out of thin air.

Also the English translation on that scene is "even if you can't come back here" which for the record makes no sense (as I said the show isn't logically consistent) - 'cause where would Seori go? it's a reincarnation. She's the dominant soul now. And Dansim - presumably is a historical footnote. The whole thing is just silly.

I've no opinion on what it meant since this show has no interest in being logically consistent. But you just made up a whole scenario, that's not even in line with anything that's happened/we've learned in the show.
Out side of assuming this has a happy ending - I've got no clue how they get from point A to point B. They abandoned the premise of the series so now anything is possible. lol
Wasn't she supposed to not get married and have kids...was this a flash forward type thing? At the end (not anywhere near caught up - just saw kids on Twitter so asking).
What exactly is was Shin Seori's reason for not telling the ml about her conversations with Choi Mundo. I just…
This has been a point of contention for me from the beginning. It was always just a dumb plot point. Like tell him when these fools come to harass you.
Thankfully, I never panic about other people's speculation. 😊Previews are mis-leading, but at this junction,…
I mean I think most people think it's a reincarnation at this point. But there's no where for her to "return" to since Dansim's soul is no longer the dominant soul in the body.
If it's a reincarnation and Seori is the dominant soul - she has all her memories, the show already confirmed this. So go back to where to get her "full memories" - None of that makes any sense.

Why would she risk going back for grandma? That makes no sense. I'm not saying it's Segye I'm just saying logically there's no reason for go back and never return for her senior citizen grandma.

Someone explain this to me like I'm 2.
