So there is a hallucinating sequence which is what I think you're referring to in episode 21.

And this is why you don't wait to deliver that kind of episode after 50 episodes. How much more tragic would it all have been had we had say 10 solid eps of them being a happy couple and then the betrayal happens. Deve-damn-stating. I really want C-Dramas to stop the whole "let's pack everything in the last 5 episodes" instead of just spreading the story out. throughout the season.

He's as intelligent. I remember from FP the policy paper he wrote. It was excellent (according to Mudan) and he built that dock/pier. He's very smart and capable, just a terrible human being however.

I doubt they do it, but if they pull a run of taking out the traitors one by one like Braveheart did when the lords betrayed Wallace and then they kept ending up dead. lol. That'd be pretty great.

I lie a good villain. They can make or break a show.

So there has to be some sort of time jump right? After Mudan gets away from Liu Change the remaining episodes would have to take place over weeks or months and not days would be my guess.

While he may be unhinged he's intelligent, resourceful, and patient. All the markings of a good villain.

Well he does survive the stab wound, and - obviously we don't know how yet - goes on to survive and comeback to help put the Emperor back on the throne.

One thing In the Name of Blossom gets right is making Liu Chang a worthy adversary for JCY. One of my critiques of POB was the poor writing of the villains. It didn't make them a good match for the leads. But not here. Liu Chang is just as intelligent, cunning and ruthless as the lead - he just lacks a moral compass and is obsessed with MLs woman which makes him so, so dangerous. On this, ITNOB got it right.

Someone didn't watch the trailer. lol. Seriously tho, the synopsis of the show let's you know he comes back after some time. I'm assuming there is gonna be some sort of time jump.

"For the disloyal part some were bribed some threatened with the lives of their family." - It was that damn Liu Chang wasn't it (lol) - do they show this or just explain this part in the show.

The subs are horrible. I'm waiting to really watch the last half once all episodes are on YouTube b/c you get MUCH better subs. That's how I discovered Flourished Peony. After it aired and all the episodes were on YouTube.

Alright I've just skimmed the last several episodes b/c the subs are so bad and didn't watch 18-19 at all - BUT I did watch the end of 19 and is it fair to say they were betrayed by those who were supposed to be on their side? Looks like Master Xue was killed by one of theirs but it also looks like Chu got away. Is that fair? Like I said subs are bad, so it's hard to say what is happening outside of visuals.
