It would have been 10x better had the spread their relationship out over the season instead of for 2 episodes before they are separated again.

No one is trying to do that. These shows are heavily censored. There is nothing that has happened in this show that can't be viewed with a family and not all shoes (Asian or otherwise) are meant for family viewing.

The miscomm was terrible and poor writing and justifies the lower score. Most of what happened with the relationship through the first 14 episodes of the season was completely unnecessary.

Episode 19 Preview Thoughts:

- A Master Xue sighting!
- That laugh by Prince Ning was hilarious. Took me back to the poorly dubbed King Fu movies I watched as a kid.
- So are we assuming XueXi's dad was the one who tipped them off??
- How does Mudan get away from Liu Chnag? We see the stabby stab in the trailer so that likely would have to happen no later than episode 20 to give her time to do her espionage stuff..
- Better question: How does JCY get away. We know he gets caught and then stabbed. But he has to get away too for the whole mask/dance sequence to happen.
- You don't think they are gonna kill Chu do you??? (NOOOOOO!!!!!!)
- How does the emperor get away and where does he go???
- You gotta think they moved County Princess out the city if her dad and husband were gonna play coup.

Why do people keep saying this lol??? There were 32 EPISODES of them being together with no physical contact. There are only 56 episodes. Just say you're weird about physical intimacy.

Sigh. Did you read what I wrote or did you just respond? I said no one was complaining about them not being together in PART ONE. Which I wasn't. There was literally no reason to keep them a part for another 17 episodes.

It's a c-drama. There is no scenario where it will be "open and over the top". I don't have a superficial understanding of romance. You just have a very limited one.

It's definitely full of bad cliches. Just say you don't like more physical romance between leads. It's 49 episodes in...it's okay for some kissing at this point.

32 episodes. 32 episodes of hem growing over time. Then another 17 - exactly how much growth did you think they needed?

Dude. You'd have a point if it hadn't been 49 episodes. 32 episodes in and most folk were cool with where there relationship was. No one (very few at least) was really complaining about them not being together. As a matter of fact most liked that it was a mature relationship that grew over time. Some of you just have weird hangups about physical intimacy and think it's cheap when it is a normal and healthy part of any relationship. Also, they've been married since last season...so...

Those were all my speculations from released clips. Not exactly spoilers since I'm playing a guessing game on clips that are available to everyone.

Yeah. That's what it looks like. There might possibly be some sort of time jump between the divorce and when he goes to see her on the boat. Looks like he hadn't seen her in a bit.

By the definition laid out in the show they aren't together b/c he's actively pushing her away and hasn't confessed his feelings. Heck even Xue is like "What's taking you so long, buddy" - if the characters know they aren't together, how don't you?

You don't have to make excuses for poor writing and character development. It is a romance - they just decided to go though 50 miles worth of obstacle course before they put them together for no good reason.
