Seems like the MDL page got the wrong title. Cdrama with the name 'Strange Chronicles of Tang' features the whole gang (Su Wuming, Lu Lingfeng, Yingtao, Pei Xijun, Dr. Fei / Chicken Fed, and Xue).
Meanwhile this Cdrama spinoff with Sheriff Weitao is called 'Tang Dynasty Mysteries: The Poison Conspiracy' like another commenter said below.
Can somebody update the MDL page to avoid the confusion? 🤔
I was hoping for more background stories of Juniang and Weitao in this mini drama. Because they seem to have a…
Okay, pls be warned. Rant ahead. I have been holding back waiting for more comments to appear 🙈 but here I go.
I feel like something changed since Strange Tales of Tang 3 and this one included. They seem to stir audience emotion unnecessarily by adding romantic threats that waver the main guys. Lu lingfeng was shown to care a bit too much for Li Na'er. And here Weitao clearly fancies Jiaoyu (and vice versa) 🙄
Why though? Why? We want to see solid cases with solid couples. Lu Lingfeng and PXJ will always be solid. But here... we have to watch poor Juniang getting sidelined. Also, why does Jiaoyu need to fancy a married man? Why cant the script give her character the dignity she deserves? She is supposed to be a respectable doctor. But why her clothing is so seductive? Translucent white outer which made men even go leering at her (in the first few episodes). Compare her clothing to Juniang who is very well put together and classy. This costume choice has got to be intentional. It's a shame that the script chooses such a path to get reaction from audience. I ended fast forwarding a lot because I dont want to see Weitao staring intimately at another woman in her bedroom!
We still love the series because... we will always love Strange Tales of Tang lol. But hopefully the spirit of the drama (which is loyalty, friendship, integrity, bravery, and good feeling it brings) can stay intact forever.
I was hoping for more background stories of Juniang and Weitao in this mini drama. Because they seem to have a rock solid marriage in Strange Tales of Tang 3. Alas the mini drama focuses on a single case only, with Jiaoyu at the center of it. Juniang only appears 2nd half of the drama.
I found the whole nobles-versus-merchants storyline with the High Priest dissatisfying. Even after uncovering…
This case.. I do find it weird that ALL of the merchants in the association, all of them were bad and immoral towards Wei Tao's sister. Not even one of them changed their mind nor felt guilty about it? If only it wasn't so black and white, it would have added more flair to the story.
If following this way of thinking, then yeah they all deserve to die 😬 Du Yu shouldn't have even spared that one merchant just because his ancestor was a gentry.
Season 4 already finished filming, S5 now in high demand https://www.tonboriday.com/2025/11/whats-release-date-of-strange-tales-of.html
Yasss! We demand endless seasons of Strange Tales of Tang if possible 😆🙈 Already missing Su Wuming and the gang 🥲
Also I read in another comment international fans might not love this genre hence the view rate in MDL is not that much. I beg to differ.. to the contrary, I think this kind of genre (detective) is more universally liked by international fans (being one myself).
It's a little saddening because we know beforehand how Sheriff Wei would end up getting executed 😠but I believe…
Hi, just thought to update you. Another commenter in the spinoff mdl page informed me that the name of the drama is "Tang Dynasty Mysteries: The Poison Conspiracy". We can already find it in IQiyi 💕 Thanks.
The old coroner knew his disciples too well…in a way it’s a major disappointment and unfortunate that both…
Just watched ep 35 just now. Alas Yin Yao switched his character like night and day right after the master died.
Basically a clear cut version of what happens if someone keeps harboring hatred. His argument is rather invalid also. He complains that the master taught the senior brother reading and writing but not him. But doesn't he know that the senior brother already literate from before 🤔 not because of his master's teachings.
yeah idk what the director was thinking adding that romantic tidbit there. it threw me off and made me upset with…
Yeah I don't think he fell in love with Na'er either. He is too righteous and proud to entertain such a fling. I think it's more that he felt a very slight need to protect ladies in the group since the right imperial guards there are highly sus.
I think those slow mo scenes were there more to emphasize Na'er's budding feelings for him, not mutually.
Im so sad for both Ye Zheng and Gu Yu. I hope the remaining XHA team can survive until the end. And I hope YZ sister can avenge her brother

I wish I could see more of MLC casts everywhere 😆 i love them all even the villain and villainess
