Sigh… you are so right. I’m praying that “Our Universe” doesn’t fall off the cliff like this drama did.
Wow the rating dropped from 7.4 to 7.3 since I wrote that comment. How sad for the cast. I know MDL isn’t the end all be all for ratings but this is just bad, even for MDL.
Same, I still like Our Universe. I’m nervous about the 2ML but thankfully he doesn’t seem as bad as this one, yet.
What a disappointing drama. I can’t believe I’m dropping it so close to the end but I’ve got nothing left for it. I just don’t care. It’s not even worth it on this rainy day when all I have is time to watch shows and do some laundry. I started episode 9 and immediately wondered why I bothered?
I dropped after episode 4 because the writing was lazy. I can’t get over how she claimed that business had been…
For your average consumer that kind of logic tracks, it happens every day. But not for high end markets and their competitors. They do extensive market research, that’s why they’ve been in business for a century and some even longer. They don’t mess around. As soon as Boudoir made it and that claim spread, the ultra luxury brands wouldn’t have let that slide. She’d be laughed out of the industry.
That’s why I dropped it. I couldn’t look past how ridiculous that claim was and how not one person from the world of high end fashion challenged it. It can never make sense.
Saw people saying they stopped watching after 3/4...like how!?!?!
I dropped after episode 4 because the writing was lazy. I can’t get over how she claimed that business had been a royal favorite for a century and not one person in the industry challenged that? Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Channel, Prada, Gucci… They’ve been around forever and would have easily and happily challenged that claim when she became a competitor. Social media and news outlets would have ate her alive for trying to claim that. I couldn’t get past it.She never would have made it. The whole plot falls apart because of that one claim.
I’ll die on this hill so no need to come for me. 😂
She slowly build the reputation through word from mouth to mouth (albeit a fabricated and inflated one). But the…
Totally different. We know T. rex existed we have evidence of that, what exactly dinosaurs looked like can still be a question. Reconstruction is advancing. We also know what royals favored for a century because that wasn’t long ago, they have family members who are very much alive and well who could was say, WTF is a Boidoir Handbag? Not only that, history has been documented and items are in museums. You can’t just say your handbag company has been around for a century and not be challenged by the same industry who would absolutely without a shadow of a doubt, know it’s a lie.
That's sort of the point the show makes, that you can sell literal bullshit to rich people as long as they perceive…
I get that for your average person doesn’t give a sh*t, they just want the latest and greatest and chances are they aren’t bright enough to know they’ve been fooled into buying it. That happens every day with even the most random of things. However, it just doesn’t explain how top designers in the fashion industry didn’t call out the massive red flags and put an end to it. How the competition would just ignore the 100 years in business when they know damn well that’s not the case, Sarah can’t rewrite the history of fashion.
It's definitely a stretch but the drama was trying to convey how the masses simply don't really care, they just…
That lie would work in a small town where internet is shoddy at best, but among the elite where competition is steep its harder to accept. It just feels like lazy writing. Already well known and respected luxury brands would have been all over her and blow that lie right up. She’s competition, there’s no way competitors would just let her slide right in like she’s been there all along (a century!) and take a top spot. The European market alone would have eaten her alive over that.
This is really bothering me and maybe I missed the explanation….
Does the drama ever explain how Boudoir could make it as a brand in the first place? How can you make up a brand and say royalty has loved it for a century and yet not one person questioned that? Did she hack historical archives? Create vintage designs and plant them in museums? I don’t understand how that lie worked. Especially on netizens. We all know how ruthless they can be and dissect every single thing. But this major and easy to prove lie slipped by the masses?
I feel like the con of boudoir would have made more sense in the era before the internet. Because it's not probable…
That’s where this drama lost me. I’m far removed from the world of luxury fashion, I’m all for comfort and dressing for the weather. But you can’t tell me royalty has loved a brand for a 100 years and yet there’s no mention of that anywhere in history? Nothing in museums? There are no vintage archives? Her whole start was comical. Who would possibly believe those photoshopped images? I know people with money like to one up each other but to believe some random person on the internet was too much of a stretch for me.
many dramas have 35-50 minutes long episodes... it is still more than four hours...
Those dramas are typically much longer than 8 episodes though. This really isn’t a lot of time to tell a kdramas story.
I’m starting in a couple hours so hopefully I’m wrong and too much wasn’t left out to make it a solid drama. She has a large devoted fan base though so regardless of how the story flows, this will be rated high by them and still do well.
Read some reviews so far, which are positive to mixed. Most praised the themes and SHS's performance but some…
Considering each episode actually averages 45 min and not 60 like traditional kdramas, I’m not surprised it’s convoluted. Netflix dramas have a tendency to miss the mark for me, sounds like this one might not be the exception.
Has anyone noticed that what was shown in the last episode ending is not what they started out in the following…
If I remember correctly it’s showing a different POV. Like when she was being attacked in the parking garage and it ended there. The next episode went back father so we could catch up to what the ML had been doing before that took place.
Wait are you actually trying to say that your response calling me a lunatic because I told you the Epstein files were a global issue, that was an argument?
bless your heart. I really hope you find something else to occupy your time. This whole faux rage thing doesn’t really suit you well.
I mean neither is Norway, United Kingdom, France, Poland, Lithuania, the list goes on and on. They are all investigating their citizens listed in the files. This isn’t a US problem, it’s a wide spread GLOBAL Issue. So most definitely put some of your time to good use. Be that feminist you wanted to see and fight.

Have a good one. Sounds like you need it. ✌️
Hope your day gets brighter.
