Guys, I loved having two (three?) whole episodes without getting to see Qi Min a single time. I might be the only…
I was the same way. I definitely want to see how his story ends with QQ. Hopefully in his demise. But I don’t think his story fit the tone of the current battlefield portion of the storyline.
Exactly! Her struggle is more with the social status, not doubting his love.
Right on the nail. The status difference is what’s bothering her. And let’s not forget, Changyu was bullied in her village. And no matter how tough she is, you can tell it bothered her and left a mark. She keeps pointing out that she’s a butcher’s daughter as to say she’s not worthy enough to be loved by a man of his status. That’s why I love his proposal in the tent. He laid out who he was in all his glory but let her know that he was choosing her for life.
I feel like they used so many episodes for the Lin’An arc and now some key scenes are being sacrificed to save…
I’m definitely seeing some rough edits. I’m worried we will not do justice to the story with the chancellor and palace intrigue. It doesn’t appear that we will be done with the battlefield story until ep. 31. That leaves nine episodes to resolve the rescue of Qing Qing and demise of the two evil brothers. And finally we have to resolve the story with the chancellor. Oh, and give us a satisfactory conclusion to Changyu and Xie Zheng’s romance. That’s a lot to do.
Okay I get the ‘drag him more’ team… I really do. BUT that man was way too smooth with his apology—his…
I was thinking the same thing. He really poured it in when he reminded her of their life in the village and how that was the happiest he had ever been. No wonder she folded after one episode. Lol.
I can’t remember the last time I watched a Cdrama episode more than once on the same release date. I watched every episode twice (sometimes three), once on IQIYI and then on Netflix. I have watched the last ten minutes of ep 26 multiple times. I haven’t been this hooked on a show since The Double. Not many can supplant my man, Duke Su but Changyu is coming close. This show is already in my top 10 all time Cdramas. It’s getting close to being in my top 3. If they can end this series well, you could argue that it should be listed among the best. I’m praying it doesn’t slip up in the end.
All this complaining about 1 episode per day when it's actually a privilege...Back in the day, we would have had…
Lol. That’s how it is with Kdramas. You are lucky to get two episodes a week. It’s excruciating to wait for the next episodes. That’s actually how I got into Cdramas. I was waiting for episodes to drop from a Kdrama and decided to watch The Double while I waited. Since then I was hooked on Cdramas.
The last 10 minutes of ep 26 was peak cinema. You’re going to be hard pressed to find better in another Cdrama. The fight scene, Marquis Wuan riding in and reveal, the cinematography and music. The shot of her being picked up and scarf falling away is a movie poster and my new background. It was so beautifully shot. And praise to Tian Xi Wei. The range of emotions that went across her face when she saw XZ was award worthy.
Honestly drugging him was karma for the play he put in the tent. It had the perfect effect on her cz she feared…
Tbh, I don’t like her deception either. If she believes her husband is just a foot soldier, drugging him to keep him from fighting is wrong. Not only would he appear to be dishonorable to other soldiers, she’s taking away his choice. And that’s basically what XZ is doing to her under the guise of protection. Both of them need to be honest. We can’t praise her for drugging her husband who she believes is a regular soldier and then be mad that he’s lying. So if he were a regular soldier, would it be ok for her to be drug him?
I feel the same. ALL of XZ’s fight scenes have gotten cut incredibly short or cut out completely and the drama…
I still don’t know how she became l a general based on what we have seen so far. Being a general is more about strategy and knowledge of warfare than individual combat. The best fighters never become generals. Usually it’s the best minds.
Since this drama started, I completely forgot to check in on the status of other dramas I'm waiting for 🤣🤣🤣…
Yeah I’m too consumed. Normally I’ll watch two Cdramas or a Cdrama and Kdrama to pass the time. But I’ll just stick with POJ until the end before starting something else.
princess Royal is nice and all. but with 1 ep a day she is quite unnecessary. I'd rather see a villain than see…
I needed a break from the Qi Min story because it was going to start spinning its wheels at the rate it was going. Him just yapping and playing mental games was getting old fast. They need to move to what’s next. So a break was needed.
it's not Chang Hu fault, he let her inside the prison door, whatfor in the first place ? to vent her anger ? 😅,…
She shouldn’t have been allowed in at all. It’s stretching believability. She might technically be the machioness, which I guess makes her the third highest ranking title in the camp behind XZ and the princess but that doesn’t give her military rank. I don’t even think that gives her nobility because their marriage hasn’t been recognized by his family or the emperor. So they shouldn’t be listening to her at all.
Xie Jheng, Yuanqing, Li Huaian and Mr. Jin. Anyone else I’m missing?
