I think most married couples want their partner to listen to them. Listening and taking advice is a good thing in a relationship. Your partner should also understand that just because you listen, you don’t always have to act on that advice. At the end of the day, the other person has a choice. Part of the problem is that ZL doesn’t provide her with the whole story. She doesn’t know that her father killed her mother because ZL is trying to protect her. The best advisors will know when to tell you no. Tingyun wasn’t trying to set up a family member. She was trying to make sure ZL wasn’t left out to dry by the emperor.
