Imlike the episode but you could definitely feel the hard cuts to this episode. A lot didn’t make sense. Unfortunately we are at the point in the series where things could get messy in order to wrap it up with so few episodes left.

This is the first time I felt the time constraints of 40 episodes affect the story. This episode’s story felt chopped down for expediency and that left me confused.
1. Ning just comes in out of the blue and mentions the bad man ( Sui Yuan Qing) was in the cave (dungeon). The next thing we know, Changyu finds her way to the dungeon with her group to get some revenge. For one, Xie Zheng’s lieutenant shouldn’t have let her in the cell to see SYQ but they also skipped how she got SYQ out without any resistance. Did he just let her take him or did they tie him up and take him?
2. Then on the hillside we have an “exchange” take place that wasn’t an exchange, maybe. The enemy sends up food but then realize XZ isn’t there but it looks like they knew they were dealing with FCY so why would that matter? At any rate, they attack and we see XZ attack but we don’t see that battle. Next scene we are back with FCY and the food. Btw, anyone eating food handed over by your enemy?
3. What happened to SYQ? FCY comes back with the food and thinks her group will get an award and says they exchanged SYQ for food. But on the cliffside shot we see that her men still have him. When did they give him up and why? You already have the food so why even hand him over. Or did they hand him over? What’s his status? Not sure if that was a mistranslation.
I still enjoyed the episode. I love the princess and Mr. Sun. And I can watch XZ and FCY all day. I really love how they care for one another. They are definitely entering my top 10 of favorite Cdrama couples. On a side note, does anyone else get the vibe that FCY’s main pig gang friend likes her romantically? To just finish this thought, I think we all knew they were going to have to make some cuts down the line when they put so much time establishing the characters in the early episodes. We are only have 13 episodes left after the big reveal of XZ’s identity to FCY. That doesn’t leave much time to resolve all the side couple stories, the main couple’s story, the political storyline with the uncle and the Fan siblings mystery. I just hope the final stories aren’t edited to hell due to time. Too bad this isn’t a 60 episode series.

I’m glad they didn’t make her a Mary Sue. She isn’t some genius who happens to be a great fighter. She’s not stupid, she just hasn’t been formally educated. That would be the norm for peasants and people in the countryside. She’s still a good person.

I tried to stop myself from watching but I had to see the reunion. I loved their first look at each other in so long. I loved the hug and her wanting to take her man home. Her not understanding that would be desertion was funny. It was so funny watching the other characters interact around them. Xie Jheng is just digging a deeper hole. He apologized for how they separated and now he will have to apologize again for lying. I thought that would have been a good point to tell her the truth. The scene with the princess was funny when she realized he was lying about his identity. It got me thinking that part of the reason FCY will be upset is because he’s making her look like a fool in front of everyone. After watching the previews I’m glad that they don’t drag out the fallout. I’m so ready to see the reconciliation and what comes after.

As soon as they started calling her sister and that they were a family, I knew they wouldn’t all make it. Preparing myself for the worst.

I already failed. I had to watch their reunion. I’ll try again tomorrow.

That’s the life of Kdrama fans. You are lucky if you get two episodes a week. The good thing about Kdrama episodes is that they are usually an hour long, sometimes more.

I have noticed plenty of people shipping them and wanting him to be redeemed do they can be together. There are definitely people seeing this abuse as a bad boy/good girl romance.

Because peasants generally couldn’t read during this period. XJ being so educated should have been a tip off that he’s from nobility or a scholar. Somehow she just never put it together.

If people communicated these stories would be wrapped up in 10 episodes.

I don’t view Qi Min and Qian Qian as a couple or in a relationship so their screen time doesn’t bother me at all. I see a woman being victimized by a villain she loathes. How can you be a couple or in a relationship if it’s one-sided. If that’s the case then Changyu and Li Huaian are a couple in a relationship. I think people are just antsy because XJ and FCY have been apart for so long. Had they been together this whole time, they wouldn’t mind QM and QQ. I’d get bored if the whole story was just about the main couple. It’s good to make people want more. Now everyone is anticipating their reunion.

Good point. I think people have to understand there is more to these stories than romance. Like you said, we spent a long time with the ML/FL establishing them as a family with Ning. That was the whole point of staying in the town. We established the family, friends and importance of the towns people. We all knew that would go away at some point. I was dreading it but knew it was necessary for the story. Soon they will be back together and I expect they will finish out the series together.

Nothing will redeem him and he really doesn’t qualify as a bad boy. Liu Xue Yu from Kill Me Love Me is more of your prototypical bad boy. He’s a bad boy but turns out he was doing good all along.

I was anticipating LotFG so much. But the editing and pace was terrible in that. Zhou Ye and Ryan Cheng were good but I wanted the same development for He Yan that we are getting from Changyu here.

That’s a miss on the writers in my opinion. I wonder if they meant to call back to that but forgot it.

He seems to be thinking from a commander’s standpoint and not a good husband. He last saw her with Li Huaian and his army. He also killed the assassins and destroyed the entire base of enemy that attacked the town. He didn’t know Ning was missing till later. I agree he should have posted some guards to watch her in secret.

My only thought was that he thought she was with Li Huaian and his army. That is where he last saw her. At the time he left her, he didn’t know Ning was missing. He gets mad at her for being reckless as we see in upcoming previews but he should have known she’s not one to sit still.

Do people not get that she has no love for him? This is not a love story for her. So she will not have any desire to meet him in the present or the future. There is that and I’m not sure we have confirmation that she has transmigrated in this series as in the book.

There is no tragedy here. A tragedy makes it sound like if for not fate, they would be romantically in love with each other. But fate is keeping their love story from flourishing. She saved him like she would have saved anyone. He’s just an obsessed nut job who is stalking her and terrorizing her child. Just because people look good doesn’t mean they should be together. QQ shouldn’t be in relationship with a rapist and murderer that she doesn’t love.
