Wiw, this answers the question that has been bugging me for the last few episodes. I suspected as much even though it has not been explicitly stated in the story yet. But I also wondered if his true identity was somehow connected to the mystery of her past.

That would be a very odd twist for the story so far.

He saw that divorce letter and was like, “so you’re telling me there’s a chance.” Is it really a love triangle if the person you desire hasn’t given you an inkling of interest? I would be fine with the love triangle if the 2ML actually had a legitimate shot.

Based on the previews he’s going to pretend to be just another soldier when she comes to his camp. Just tell her. Is there a good reason given in the books as to why he continues to hide his true identity from her? At least they are back together again in a couple of episodes.

Too late, he has already fallen for her.

I don’t know if I can do one episode a day. Might just wait till the end of the week and binge them all at once next weekend.

That was so funny. I was thinking just that when they reunited. Normally that would be the flashback when we find out the main couple met when they were kids and were destined to be together.

Yes, Jiuheng is another name Xie Zheng goes by. He’s the old man’s student.

Great write up. I’m glad you pointed out the emotion and sympathy from the maid. I noticed that while watching and it stood out to me for some reason. Seeing someone showing pity for her but being helpless to assist just added to the pain and despair of that scene. I also think your point on the brothers is spot. But Qi Min being in touch with his emotions makes him more dangerous in my opinion. I’m sure he would have cut the boy’s throat with tears in eyes.

Deng Kai and Snow Kong definitely brought their A game for that scene. Qi Min was so scary. Just like when he stabbed the messenger, you’re not sure what he’s capable of or what he’s going to do next. When he had the blade to the boy’s throat I believed he would do it. And just watching YQQ crumble was heartbreaking. Watching her put the jewelry on and eat the food was so sad. Snow Kong did a great job showing the character go from courage to breaking down, to total defeat. These last two episodes may be my favorite so far. I have to go back and rewatch.

Don’t tease me like that! Now I really need to know. But I don’t want to be spoiled. It’s so hard not to click on the spoilers from the book readers. I’d pay to just watch all the episodes at once.

I’m guessing ep. 23 based on the teasers. Looks like she needs to go help them while his soldiers are under siege. Although I don’t think she realizes she’s going to help him.

I only have one gripe about this show/story. The show is a 9.5 in my book, so far. But the thing that’s bothering me is Xie Zheng not telling Changyu his real identity. At this point, the secret has become a liability to FCY and Ning. His enemies and others are finding out their relationship and see them as a weakness for Marquis Wuan. Why wear the mask when saving her from falling? He’s creating drama down the road for their relationship that’s unnecessary. And she needs to know why people are coming after her. Let her know that because people see you as married to Marquis Wuan, you and Ning are in danger.

I have seen that being done before. People who hate the actors will even give the finale low ratings, though it hasn’t been released. Noting you can really do about it. They should lock the episodes for ratings until the show ends but it is what it is. I think this show is getting good word of mouth so it shouldn’t be a problem overall.

I was thinking the lady who was watching Qi Min mentally torture Yu Qian was the mom. She looked on in disapproval but didn’t say anything.

I was so sad and proud of her. She went out like a boss.

It’s possible that she’s not on the same martial arts level as Changyu. I also have a feeling that Yuan Qing holds back a bit when fighting Changyu. He’s such a pervert. I think he enjoys the close contact with her.

He’s on my death list with way he treated Ning. But notice how he tried to get closer to Changyu even though she had a knife on him. He’s so perverse.

I don’t care what he wants. He needs to die.
