That’s part of it. Hardly anyone likes him to be honest. He is salty about her privilege, as he made that comment about her “leeching off her parents” and being pathetic.

Yeah so most people don’t like the SML. In the novel they fleshed out their relationship a lot more, but essentially he struggled with their socioeconomic differences and spends the show very much sending her mixed signals, being petty and acting entitled. When I initially read your comment, I thought you were confused about the ML’s behaviors towards the FL 😆 THAT is what gets explained later. The SML (Zhuang Xu) doesn’t have a lot to explain. Yes he likes her, and yes he rejects her and pushes her away 😂

She grows up. The show starts when she’s a senior in high school and continues into her adulthood. she’s supposed to be childish in the beginning because she’s young.

I had a thought that I would not mind at all if Gwang Su takes over the case if the romance between Laik and Sena takes off before the case is closed. I hope that we do get romance before the end, as I do want episodes of them actually dating and being a couple. If Gwang Su takes it over, then it leaves our leads to be partners in crime and investigate together without the pressure of her having to also be his lawyer 😎

That perspective does make more sense. Now that I am also thinking more about it, I wonder if Raik took it as a personal rejection when she told him that she separates work from her personal life. Maybe he interpreted as that she doesn’t have feelings for him, which is why he said that he can’t draw those lines like she can (because he likes her). I still don’t get the “but because you made me believe you” line though 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hmm. I watched it and will have to see the whole episode. I don’t quite get what Raik meant when he said, “I’m not acting like this because I believe you lied to me, it’s because you made me believe you.” In the context of him saying that he can’t draw the line between work and personal… I don’t quite understand.

I also think that on top of everyone else’s comments on reasons why it’s such a big deal to Raik that she’s a super fan, I also want to throw in that fans at this point are probably a pretty big trauma trigger for him. Two broke into his house to harass him, he has been publicly bullied / humiliated by them during autograph sessions, and after he has been framed for murder many of them have given him death threats and said that he deserves to die. So yeah, not only does Raik feel like a product and a commodity that people use and then discard, but I think he also has trauma from them too. I have noticed up until this point when Raik feels vulnerable he makes himself small - crouching down covering his head, laying on the fetal position curled into himself, etc. His body language was similar at the end of episode 6 when he found out that she was a fan - crouched in a corner in the shadows. I think trauma is a factor as well.
