Oh there are legit trolls on here who hide in anonymity and purposely down rate shows and episodes that a) haven’t yet aired or b) they’ve never seen just because they don’t have lives and find some strange sense of purpose in being assholes 🙃 - whether it be because they have a strong dislike for a particular actor / actress who stars in the show, or they’re sabotaging one show that may be competing for another one that they prefer. Either way, they’re nothing more than pathetic bullies who make themselves feel better by tearing others down. Worse than bullies, perhaps, because they’re cowards hiding behind a screen. Or bots, I suppose.

Funny how she had to get a bit tipsy first 😂She’s pretty great, and I like how she’s always kinda went after what she wanted since the beginning.

So I am just gonna make a post about why it never bothers me at all when non blood-related “siblings” develop a romantic attachment to each other, even if they grow up together. Essentially, there are studies out there that indicate that biological opposite-sex siblings have an innate aversion to each other’s smells. They say it’s an innate, evolutionary mechanism to prevent inbreeding and incest. It seems fine to me that two people who don’t share DNA could develop a romantic attraction to each other. Why couldn’t they? How is two non-related people growing up together and falling in love much different than someone falling in love with their lifelong best friend? So to me, the themes in this show or other shows like Hidden Love don’t bother me. For reference- National Institutes of Health (.gov) posted a couple research studies on it, Wayne State University also referenced a similar study. That’s all. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Also, I’m not here to debate. If the themes in shows like this are triggering and upsetting to you, as usual don’t watch- it’s all good! No one is gonna judge you for not watching a show that is upsetting you. 😊

It just seems to be a cultural thing. With a lot of Asian cultures being formal about using names, showing respect through what names you call the person you’re talking to / about, it seems to be an intimate gesture to name someone informally. Personally I think it’s really sweet.

Yeah, so that scene in Speed and Love when she playfully called him “brother” and he got all blushy didn’t bother me. It reminded me a lot of that scene in What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim when the FL called the ML “oppa” and he blushed like mad.

Yeah like in Korea the term “oppa” - it’s used toward actual blood-related brothers, but I have also seen it used as a term of endearment towards a boyfriend.

Agreed, although sometimes I think that she’s acting a little too much like a child. She’s biologically about 19 (so I’ve read), but sometimes she seems to act like she’s in her early teens or younger in some ways. It doesn’t negatively impact my enjoyment of the show, as I chalk it up to her growing up pampered and sheltered. I am hoping, however, that after they reunite she’ll act a bit more grown up.

ASJ- So what you’re implying is that a piece of paper signed by the government indicating an adoption took place is what determines the moral wrongness of the lead’s romance? How does that even make sense 😂

It’s just so bizarre because I never looked at this one or Hidden Love through this lens. I never looked at the leads in either show and saw them as siblings. They’re not related… so honestly it’s not that much different than being childhood best friends? I don’t get it.
