I am super late in asking this, but can someone explain the difference between a Marquis and a General? I am doing a rewatch and Xie Zheng said that a Marquis is a higher rank than a General. Is Marquis just a higher title, but his role in the army is the same as a General?

I looked through your completed list and a you’ve seen a bunch I would have recommended already. I didn’t see Wonderland of Love on there, which is a pretty good one. If you like xianxia then there is also Legend of Shen Li and Are You the One. Both of them are off to a slower start. LoSL takes several episodes to could the foundation of the leads. I ended up liking it a lot more than I expected. There is some secret keeping, but I don’t remember it being that bad (and I HATE misunderstandings and dragged out lying if it doesn’t make sense). AYTO also starts slow with a hidden identity trope and an amnesia plot and a ML who.. screws up 😂The leads in all of these are trained in the martial arts. I don’t remember if I saw Legend of the Female General on your list, but I did enjoy that one a lot when it aired too BUUUUUTTT I wouldn’t recommend that one unless you’re sure you won’t compare it to Pursuit of Jade 😂 UMMM also xianxia, but Moonlight Mystique has two capable leads and a GREAT second couple imo. OH OH OH there is also Shadow Love! Cheng Li ❤️ and the FL is a general. So yeah! I hope you find something!

I feel totally the same. Fated Hearts was another GREAT example of two leads trained in the martial arts who are equal in both fighting and then saving / rescuing. If you haven’t seen it already I highly recommend it. XZ has literally been injured for half the show 😂🙄It’s too bad. There was no reason for them to skimp on the ML’s scenes like they did. :/
