Oh yeah for sure! I just don’t see why it either has to be FCY or XZ, and why it can’t be both of them shining a lot like in FH. I am sure they could have cut some side stuff a little to extend the battle when XZ rescued Changning or when he took out that stronghold after leaving the village. Or even yesterday when they completely cut his fight after the FL’s plan got botched. Stuff like that makes it feel uneven.
I think xz needs to step up. Fcy has more epic fight scenes that him.Drama! I have such high expectations now,…
I feel the same. ALL of XZ’s fight scenes have gotten cut incredibly short or cut out completely and the drama is feeling a bit unbalanced. XZ has not done much on screen in the drama and it does not feel balanced like Fated Hearts did. :/ I really hope they let him actually shine more in the last part of the drama 🤞🏻

It’ll be nice if they don’t drag out the second separation tbh. We are coming up to the last stretch of the drama and I’d like to maximize the main couples time together 😅
We kinda saw some of the editing issues with this episode, unfortunately. I’m super bummed that we got yet ANOTHER fighting scene with XZ cut from the drama 😞I really hope this won’t be the norm in the last part of the drama. All of XZ’s battle scenes have either gotten cut really short or cut out completely :/ And we know tomorrow he won’t be doing any fighting either. It’s not enough to lower my rating from a 10 yet, but I think that XY’s lack of badassery and fight scenes are starting to… well, I’m starting to really notice it. ☹️He is supposedly this badass, ruthless Marquis in battle and I really want some more screen time dedicated to showing it.
I haven’t decided yet. I might wait until Friday to watch because I think they are going to be reconciled by Friday’s episode 😬 But then again… I do lack self control soooo
This is it! finally the revelation! https://x.com/lou_anne0404/status/2034091110998638928?s=61https://x.com/scenerybie/status/2034090676401672404?s=61https://x.com/scenerybie/status/2034105845697626113?s=61

Yeah after you watch enough of them it’ll start to make sense. You’ll likely see a silver haired man in almost every wuxia / xianxia show you watch. Silver hair can also mean immense power and status (“Eternal Love of a Dream”, for example), so it can vary from context to context. 😊
Oh no! Fl has a squad formed and I love them already. I swear no one better die. Someone always dies in the squad…
People suspect that the squad leader (idr his name) is going to sacrifice himself for the FL because they hinted during this episode that he liked her 🙄
I love how no one is questioning the science of how QM got smooth skin again 😆 we just accept that this basically…
Sooo this is how I interpreted it: in wuxia Cdramas the characters have something called an “internal force”, or “inner energy” or strength. In this particular genre of Cdramas, characters can use their “internal energy” to accomplish superhuman feats. Like, for example, when Changyu tossed the grand princess all the way up the cliff with one arm in episode 24. Or when Xie Zheng used the force of air to push the officers back when they were in the courtyard about to get beaten in… episode 7? A character’s “internal force” can also be used to heal wounds.
Which brings me to my next thing. Silver hair in wuxia stories sometimes indicates a severe depletion of the character’s “internal force”, indicating that they are in a weakened state, sometimes even permanently weakened. So in short, I think Qi Min permanently depleted his “internal force” to heal his scars and that’s why he also has silver hair and is sickly.
So I watched 25 and I guess I am still not as frustrated with Xie Zheng as others. I saw a lot of nuance in the having the fake Marquis and did not see it as just a ploy to deceive Changyu. He was put in a very difficult position. If he had revealed himself as the Marquis when dealing with the aftermath of Changyu’s blunder, then how would that look to his entire army when they found out that the Marquis’s wife made a grave military mistake? How would it affect their morale? Their respect of him? In addition, as a husband he could not allow his ignorant wife to be beaten for her actions. So then he would have been in the position of coming out as the Marquis AND being beaten for his wife’s disobedience? Yikes. Not so great for him being in charge of the army.
So imo the easiest solution was to set up a fake Marquis to enact the punishment. In doing that he protected his reputation with the army as a whole while also protecting his wife from getting beaten.
So I will be able to watch 25 in a little bit, but I personally don’t mind too much how they are handling XZ keeping his identity a secret. I think I appreciate how they set it up in 24. XZ was injured and decided to share a tent with common soldiers who didn’t know who he was. Changyu unexpectedly happened upon him in the tent, and naturally our man was caught off guard. She treated him with tenderness and care, and the pent up feelings he had been hanging onto for the past couple of months came to the surface. Their relationship had always been undefined, and their last interaction left it in very precarious standing. So he went along with it, afraid to rock the boat after having her back in his arms after so long.
It wasn’t like he snuck behind Changyu’s back and conspired with all of the average soldiers to participate in his lie. I am NOT defending his actions, but I understand them. He was afraid. The ice was beginning to melt between them and he was afraid of losing her again. The other piece is that he wanted to protect her. Her anger will be 100% justified, and I also understand where XY is coming from.

Just my two cents. 🤷🏼♀️

At least maybe until I watch 25 😅
