For everyone confused about the episodes, Island is 12 episodes but will air in two parts of 6 episodes each.

He is a demon hunter who was once a Buddhist monk, I believe. But now he's an immortal being of sorts.

In Korea, "Special Appearance" (which is what Eunwoo is credited as) means that you would normally expect them to be a much larger role but them appearing in the film is a special thing. The three special appearances in the credits are Cha Eunwoo, Lee Minki & Kim Seulgi beause you'd expect all of them to at least be a second lead role if not first.

He was a cheerful guy in Best Hit and Rookie Historian, and he's definitely not emotionless in the movie Decibel. He was praised across the board for his work in that movie. Island comes out December 30, and he will be a cheerful exorcist priest with a dark side in it. So hopefully you will either see that he's improved or decide it was the Beauty roles boxing him in.

It sounds like he is meant to be a special appearance, not a main character. But since his side has yet to confirm it, it's not on MDL. This isn't really a spoiler, but just to be safe: in the webtoon, the male lead makes a wish to become Cha Eunwoo. It doesn't work, obviously, but the director may have wanted to bring him in for that bit.

I saw an early screening of Decibel, and it was actually quite enjoyable! Jongsuk was incredible, and I think people will be genuinely surprised by how good Eunwoo's performance was as well.

I really need Eunwoo to confirm a drama already, so that I can get excited and enjoy watching him instead of constantly reading comments from people who don't want to see him. EYE want to see him, and I promise I will watch whichever drama he chooses, so can we please fast-forward to him filming already?

Suzy's first role was in 2011 (as a lead), and she's been a lead in 8 full-length dramas and 4 movies (not counting the ones that haven't released yet).
Eunwoo's first role was in 2014 (a bit role with no lines before he debuted) and he's been a lead in 3 full-length dramas (not counting webdramas where he played variations of himself) and 0 movies (not counting the ones that haven't released yet).

Definitely not calling her a dinosaur, I'm just saying time she's spent in the industry and the opportunities she's had to showcase improvement are MUCH bigger than his. Especially considering his True Beauty character was essentially written as an expanded version of his MIIGB one.

True Beauty gained him 10+M followers, was the only kdrama other than Squid Game to make the list of top Ten most talked about shows on social media, and the only kdrama to make the top 10 most downloaded shows. Not sure what kind of bad bomb that is, but in that case I hope he has more!

Island (supernatural horror where he plays a man exorcist priest ) and Decibel (navy action where he plays a sonar technician) will probably be out before this one, so you will be able to see him do other genres with no romance if you so choose.

Suzy has been acting since before Eunwoo was even recruited to be an idol, so that’s a strange comparison to make imo. Meanwhile, he has only led 3 dramas so far, and it’s been nearly two years since he filmed his last one. Who’s to say he hasn’t studied and improved? I genuinely think his acting in True Beauty was a big improvement already, but that’s obviously subjective.

Yes! About time. I’ve loved all his major dramas so far, and this one sounds like a lot of fun.

For those wondering when Island will finally premiere, it’s currently in discussion at TVN for either the very end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023.

Literally speaking, they never had a drama hit 10% until Uncanny Counter. And now they're having to off-load some of their projects, like Voice 4, to TVN. So they are indeed smaller than the main broadcast networks, as well as TVN & JTBC, who have each had 20%+ dramas.

He's a such a sweetie, I'm happy his career is coming along nicely. Can't wait for Decibel and eventually Island!

OCN is one of the smaller networks, of course they could do better in the ratings and with international distribution generally speaking. As for Eunwoo, branching out is good for a young actor to do, and I'm sure he'll be great in the role.

Lee Da Hee fits the role so well, I cannot believe I didn't think of her for the FL before. Thank goodness the Island director has a better eye or memory than I do lmao.
