I'm curious to see how Soo Jin's character will develop in the drama since it seems like her characterization…
Based on the relationship chart for the show, she does indeed have feelings for Suho. However, I think the bigger story with her is going to be whatever is going on at home that made her start obsessively washing her hands in episode 3. Hopefully she and Jugyeong will become close enough that J can be there for her and help her through whatever is going on.
So I just wanna say omg talent at it's finest, and thank god they are getting all noticed, but am I the only one…
Yoona is AMAZING. I love her so much and I want her to be a lead one day soon. I also wish everyone would stop assuming she's going to do "bad" just because she's jealous. It feels so... weird, considering Seojun and Suho are out here punching each other in the cafeteria and no one is worried about them being "bad" lmao.
Eunwoo and In Yeop both broke my heart in today's scenes. I can't wait to see the Seyeon story fully fleshed out, as it's already much more well executed than it was in the webtoon. Also very interested in where Sujin's story is going...
Episode 3 was hilarious. I love how much the show leans into Jugyeong's imagination, and how it lets Moon Gayoung play the whole spectrum of emotions going from most comical to heartbreaking in moments. And I wanna keep giving Eunwoo props, because I think this episode showed even more clearly how much he's improved, and how Suho's role really fits him. Plus, we're finally laying the groundwork for what went wrong with the boys' friendship...
I can’t believe a show like this is being produced in 2020, the target audience must be middle school students…
It's definitely not for everyone, but I don't see how it can automatically be classified as bad. As for the plot, it's pretty clear from the first two episodes that Jugyeong hiding her identity vs realizing her true self is beautiful is one plot, suho and seojun reconciling and making peace with their friend's death is another, her sister falling for the teacher is a third, and then hopefully WAY in the back is the "love triangle" of jugyeong and suho liking each other while seojun and sujin don't like that lmao.
I have a question about Su Ho, is he an actor or something? I don't mind spoilers.
So far in the drama, we know Suho's dad is a famous actor and entertainment company CEO. We also know his friend who was an idol died, and he had a falling out with his other friend Seojun, who is an idol trainee. In the webtoon, Suho was never an actor or idol himself. But I'm pretty sure that in the drama, they're changing it so that he was a trainee along with Seojun and their now-dead friend Seyeon. That's why he hates having his photo taken and why he freaked out when he saw those model-looking pics on the confession gift.
i'm suho team in the webtoon and in the drama. for me, it shows that she is comfortable with him being without…
I'm really happy with how the relationship is progressing right now, specifically in the comic book shop scenes. Can't wait to see what happens this week, and if he figures out it's her!
Hey, I was wondering for the people who've read the webtoon if there is any meaningful message behind the plot…
To be honest, I think there's already been more "meaningful message" in the first two episodes of the drama than in the whole webtoon so far, but the idea is definitely meant to be that you should love yourself as you are and only adjust for yourself and not for anyone else. Not that makeup is bad, but that you shouldn't be ashamed of your bare face (or real self) either. But I definitely think the seeds are planted in the show to more effectively explore the same themes that kind of get lost in the webtoon's never-ending love triangle shenanigans.
On going and so far there is no triangle. It's a couple and a one-sided crush.
spoilers for the webtoon: When they're in high school, suho/jugyeong like each other while seojun likes jugyeong. after the timeskip, jugyeong and seojun date while suho is in japan and he's the on with the feelings when he comes back. but currently in the korean version (which is maybe 10 chapters ahead of the translation?), seojun and jugyeong have broken up and she's starting to have feelings for suho ago. ergo, it's very much a triangle in the comics.
I feel like people who watch the drama often forget about how much Seojun struggles as a person. From losing a…
I don't know about being a better person, but I agree that Seojun has his own share of struggles - which I'm sure the drama will get into as well. I certainly hope the drama ensures that A) his friendship with Suho is truly restored, unlike the fake way they did it in the webtoon, B) both boys make peace with Seyeon's death, and C) he helps his family and himself out of financial troubles with his success as an idol. There's every opportunity to do justice to all three characters without milking the love triangle like Start-Up did, and I hope the show takes advantage of it.
