I mean Seojun in Ep6 is just love. But as far as couple goes, I like how Jugyeong knows exactly who she wants…
That's what I love too! I think both boys are great and the cast is overflowing with chemistry, but the drama is about Jugyeong and what/who she wants. We want to see her love herself and be happy, and she's already made it clear she likes Suho so...
Really loved the backstory we got on Sujin this episode, the slow inching forward of Suho and Seojun, the FINAL SCENE OMG!!!!!! And of course, the adorable yet awkward progress of Suho and Jugyeong.
Y'all worried about them ruining Seojun's character, I'm over here worrying for Soojin and Park Yoona. So far…
I don't see any reason to worry about her becoming a mean girl. Sujin very much seems like a girl's girl who stands up for her friends and what's right. If she likes Suho, I'm sure she'll be sad when she realizes he likes Jugyeong, but I'm positive she will want the best for them both.
Some people are simply dead set against Eunwoo. He could give an Oscar worthy performance and they would still…
I do think there's a lot of that going around. Of course, acting is subjective so not everyone will get into every actor. But there are some straight up lies about his performance that have to be rooted in subconscious bias. I'm just glad k-media has turned around and started praising him. <3
Today's True Beauty episode really hurt my heart in the best way. Suho finally getting to share his pain, while Jugyeong lends a helping hand to a girl in need AND reaches out for Suho. Seojun is also lashing out because of his pain in a different way, but I think the end of the episode will be the start of the healing for him and Suho. Also, Eunwoo did SO well this episode. I will no longer be accepting criticism.
It was so clever, especially by bringing up how they were in a stage vs. a shadow, because True Beauty is also a webtoon so we can imagine this is the author messing with them too lmao.
I have this bad feeling about her. Did you see the little smirk in the preview of episode 5 where Ju Kyung runs…
You know, I hadn't thought about the preview scene because I feel like they're often misleading. But I just rewatched, and it is an interesting expression. I don't think there's any way the bullies recognize Jugyeong though - aside from as the girl who ignored them at the beauty shop - so there may be another reason she's smirking about it. I totally agree with you about how creepy the hand-washing scene was. I wonder if it'll be almost like a prequel to her SKY Castle character's story. Not really obviously, but the idea that parents force too much on their kids and they wind up going in the opposite direction.
I dont know how she really is so far...she seems to be just there maybe we get to know her in a next episode like…
It definitely feels like they made her a "main" cast member for a reason, and I hope it's not just be an unnecessary roadblock. She seems too sincere for that!
Please someone spoil me about the relationship between two lead guy. Will they solve the conflict or misunderstanding?…
The conflict between the boys is a misunderstanding about what happened before their friend's death, as well as a misinterpretation of how the other is handling it since. Suho closed himself off so Seojun thinks he doesn't even care when he's actually deeply depressed, and Seojun outwardly acts with bravado so Suho thinks HE doesn't care, etc. The webtoon unfortunately only paid lip service to their friendship and we rarely saw it after they made up, especially because then the love triangle started in earnest. But since the webtoon is starting the love triangle while they're on the outs, I feel confident they will make up and then we'll see a genuine friendship regardless of who Jugyeong dates (if anyone).
Of course the audience can comment on the acting of the actors. For example, I think Eunwoo is doing well and…
Yeah, we obviously disagree about his acting. I just meant we can talk about other things regardless of our feelings on the acting. I'm not calling it hating, so don't worry about me!
I dont know how she really is so far...she seems to be just there maybe we get to know her in a next episode like…
Yeah, there were open spaces for her parents on the relationship chart, so I'm expecting us to meet them soon. I don't know if it counts as a spoiler, but I believe that chart also said Sujin's father was the doctor for Suho's mom, which is super interesting and will definitely play out at some point.
Isn't the webtoon Su Ho that way? well if I remember well. I think drama SuHo is more livlier than webtoon Suho…
I definitely agree about webtoon Suho. I think both Eunwoo and the creative team purposely worked to make Suho more active, even physically so with jiu jitsu and fight scenes. Eunwoo learned martial arts for the character and to do his own stunts, so I really appreciate the effort he's put in. But it's not like I need people to shower him with praise or even stan Suho, haha. Just that I would love to find some people who want to analyze the story at hand - however superficial they might find it to be.
Does anyone have theories on Sujin? I want to discuss her character keeping in mind what we've seen so far and…
So far, I think we've seen that Sujin is genuine and kind, albeit a little competitive. Also, while they haven't had many scenes, I think it's clear she thinks she has a connection with Suho because they're family friends and the top of their class. So, she's definitely a little put off by Jugyeong already getting "close" to him, but not in any evil or backstabbing way. Just that she already has feelings and they're going to be hurt. But what I'm most worried about is the handwashing scene after she got that text from her dad. Clearly her family puts a lot of pressure on her and has a lot of plans for her, but I wonder if they're going through some kind of financial trouble she's being asked to help with or if she's just developed her own panic responses to the pressure they put on her.
Does anyone have theories on Sujin? I want to discuss her character keeping in mind what we've seen so far and not concerns about where she might become "evil", like I've seen mentioned. I'll put my thoughts under a spoiler underneath:
I think audience can comment on acting of lead roles, and not liking it is not necessarily "hating". If you don't…
Of course the audience can comment on the acting of the actors. For example, I think Eunwoo is doing well and I perfectly understand Suho's motivations even when I don't think about the webtoon. But it gets kind of boring when people just say "well, I can't feel anything from Suho so ..." instead of actually discussing the story that's there, you know? Even if you think Eunwoo is the worst actor in the world, the lines of dialogue are literally written on the screen for us so we could talk about the plot and themes, of which I think there are plenty.
It's an OST by Chani called "How Do You Do," and it hasn't been released yet. He plays Seyeon, the dead friend, and Suho was listening to the same song throughout episode 1.
You should look at his eyes, because he's always giving away how he feels with them.
I think L is generally a little wooden, but he's charming in himbo roles like Angel's Last Mission and Meow. Not as effective in more serious ones, unlike DO who really drew me in during It's Okay That's Love and I Remember You.
You should look at his eyes, because he's always giving away how he feels with them.
I'm sure it's not just you, as acting is subjective for a reason. I happen to see his emotions reflected well in his eyes and you don't, and that's quite alright. I actually wasn't a big fan of Kyungsoo's character in 100 Days, but many people were, so we just have different tastes.
Also, Eunwoo did SO well this episode. I will no longer be accepting criticism.
