I just rewatched this masterpiece after seeing too many Thai BLs with bland characters or unsatisfying endings…
Yes. I am also on the opinion that no one does BL better than Japan. Japan loses when it comes to the number of BLs released every year, but i really think no country can beat Japan when it comes to quality and the originality and diversity of the stories that they release.
Yes. Strictly speaking, this drama is not a BL. At least i don`t considered it to be.I think it fits more in the…
Like Panorama Girl has said, nobody would be checking them up then, if people would refer to dramas/mangas the same way you do, because they wouldn't know it has gay/BL content or that the drama is adapted from a BL manga. What you say sounds nice and all and i knew about some of them, but there is almost no one who will study and use the terms you used, because is too bothersome. Almost nobody will pay attention to details like this. All people want to know is if the drama is a BL or not, and knowing and saying that is based on a yaoi/shounen ai manga, BL manga or somethng like i don t consider it a BL drama but it does has gay romance in it, is a short, quick way to convince people, even if in Japan the mangas are classified a bit different. Those dramas and mangas still has gay content, even if some dramas doesn't have enough BL/gay content to be considered a BL drama, i still consider it an important thing to say that they are adapted from an yaoi/shounen ai or BL manga.
Yes. Strictly speaking, this drama is not a BL. At least i don`t considered it to be.I think it fits more in the…
I don't agree with this. It's not only about, in what magazine a manga is published, is about the content of it. You saying something like Kieta Hatsukoi is a shoujo manga only confuses people. It's like you are denying the BL content in it. Let's say that what you have said is true, but Sasaki to Miyano, Kieta Hatsukoi and Kamisama no Ekohiiki are considered shounen ai mangas based on the western classification, why not use this classification that international fans are aware of and use in MDL, but you are using a term like a shoujo manga. I think we will never agree about this. So to make it easy, my conclusion is that i will never agree with the fact that the mangas i mentioned are not BL mangas, because there has to be a way for international fans to separate BL mangas from shoujo mangas which by western classification only includes BG mangas.
Yes. Strictly speaking, this drama is not a BL. At least i don`t considered it to be.I think it fits more in the…
This is not true. Shounen ai classification exists in Japan . All BL mangas are classified in yaoi and shounen ai in Japan ( the yaoi and shounen ai subgenres or classification is used in the biggest online manga sites in Japan), a separation that is mean to indicate the amount and intensity of physical/skinship or intimate scenes in mangas. If you mean to say that shounen ai classification don't exist, then does that mean that mangas like Given, Sasaki to Miyano are not shounen ai, but shoujo, because this is wrong in so many levels.
People calling this BL is so misleading. Besides being based on a shoujo and not a BL manga, the story is a very…
Yes. Strictly speaking, this drama is not a BL. At least i don`t considered it to be. I think it fits more in the category of a Jdrama that features gay romance or a BL line between the main characters, because of the fact that the romance between the male characters is too short for this drama to be considered a standard BL drama. The manga is both a shojo and a shounen ai manga, is a mix of both genres.
I watched season 1 (without subs lol) because of Kiriyama Renn and now excited to watch the new season because…
I also want to check this for Hagiwara Riku, because his character in this drama is similar with Hira from Utsukare. I also usually enjoy watching jdramas with detective/inestigation elements. But i do hope it will be subbed for me to do this.
Finished watching the drama and i will give my opinion on it as someone who has read the manga and has watched…
That tiny tiny detail i was referring in the comment above was the part where Kenta has said to Yashiro (while he was still in Kagura body) that who Yashiro is inside is still him and that he will love him and accept him ( most probably date him too even if he was in Kagura body, because he said they are trying to make things work) not matter what form he will take.
I know that this can come across as unconditional love, and i can see how this makes sense perfectly for some people, especially for people who have not read the manga. In my case, i don`t find it believable. After all that happened it feels like the drama has chosen the safe way and along the way it has invalidated part of the feelings that Yashiro and Kenta has developed in time. Yashiro has originally liked Kenta as a man, and he has a really hard time seeing himself loving Kenta while in a woman body. We have seen Yashiro struggle with the posibility of dating Kenta while he is Kagura body and in the last ep he looked like he was insecure about Kenta liking the real him/ the original Yashiro or if in the end he will force himself and come to accept the situation Yashiro is in and try to be together with him as Kagura too. Kenta never come to like the way Kagura body looks, he only likes Yashiro in her body. In my opinion, even if he says that not matter what form Yashiro takes, he will still like him, i just don`t find it believable, not after al that struggle he has gone after, and after all the things he has done to make sure Yashiro returns to his body. I wish we were shown a more selfish Yashiro, even a little bit, because he is only human too, in the manga he has some moments where he prioritizes his happines. Why Kagura was the only one that got to be extra selfish, this bothered me too.
I can`t express how much those words that Kenta has said bothered me, and in the way i can`t even blame him, because the way everything is presented come across as scripted, as it was writed in the script so the characters have to act that way even through it may not make 100% sense.
The fact that Kenta has said those words right after the conversation he has with Kagura ( in Yashiro body) , come across as something he wouldn`t have said if he wasn`t pushed by the circumstances, as him being cornered by the people around him to make a decision about it, even through previously he has said that he only loves and will only accept and date the original Yashiro, the soul of Yashiro in his original body. In the manga, this part didn`t exist. Kenta has always persisted in his belief that he only loves Yashiro in his original body and he has realised that will never come to love Yashiro in Kagura body, and i really really wished this was not added, because beside this, almost everything that happened in the last 2 eps ( beside all the things related to Kagura) happened in the manga.
Finished watching the drama and i will give my opinion on it as someone who has read the manga and has watched a lot of BL dramas and movies until now. Initially i only checked the drama because i saw Yuki Furukawa in the cast while checking some new jdramas to watch. While reading the manga i was really excited to watch. I really really enjoyed watching the drama, and it was really really entertaining to watch, it was just that i thought it will be one of those dramas where i will like it so much to the point i will give it a 10 or 9.5 stars, which aren`t a lot, so i was a bit disappointed this wasn`t the case.
I really liked the manga and while the drama has handled some things better than the manga, there are some things that i wish were not added in the last two eps of the drama, and is the reason of why i removed one star from the rating i have originally planned to give the drama.
I am really really sensitive about how gay relationships are portrayed when it comes to stories that has gender bender, body switching, and while this drama has explored in much more depth things like gender identity, sexuality , what makes a person who they are, which other dramas has only touched in the surface, there was a tiny tiny detail that made me change my opinion on the drama. I will write more details about what i am referring thu in the comment i will add below in the spoiler, because it will contain spoilers.
heyy none of the links is working for me :( idk if that’s only for me or someone else too
Download the eps from DRAMAHD ( any quality works and use Clicknupload) and then download the subs separately( Furritsu has provided the link for DRAMAHD website) . Open the eps in a video player and after add the subs. It should work.
This drama is now complete. I hope you find someone who will unconditionally love you for who you are! I also…
Thank you for all you have done for us. You are literally our angel. I can`t wait to watch the drama and give my final opinion on it as someone who has read the manga. Based on other people opinion it seems they have covered the manga until the end. I knew that i can count on japanese dramas and movies to not disappoint me in this aspect, but i am still touched.
Ep 5 and 6 are subbed for almost one week now. You have to find the translator website, Furritsu. Hope Furritsu doesn`t mind i shared the link directly. I don`t know why, but the website doesn`t show up in the search in the usual way. Ckeck this website for the subs of the last two eps, because it will be available the faster here. https://furritsubs.wordpress.com/2022/03/23/kamisama-no-ekohiiki-engsubs/

I feel like Jae-Soo's father died, but due to other reasons. When Jae-Soo said "I finally understand the look in…
When i said that his father has commited suicide, i referred in the original past ( before his suicide was prevented). It was implied heavily that he would have commited suicide if Goo Ryun and Joon Woong wouldn`t have intervened, because he has speed his car, he looked that he wanted to kill himself, even Goo Ryun has noticed this (she has said "what do you think?"). That scene was them seeing how the events was happening in the past regarding Jae Soo father. Now, because they prevented his suicide, things ca go either way, he would still die by suicide or he would die for other reasons, any version is valid because it wasn`t show in the drama, but maybe it will be shown in the future. About the phrase his father has said ( in his original past, that Jae Soo remembered before the past was changed and he has told to Joon Woong in ep 3), i know he has said it while he was alive, what i meant he could have say it to Jae Soo in other ocasions ( but it wasn`t show in the drama), and this is why Jae Soo has said it to Joon Woong in ep 3. I don`t think the RM team was supposed to go back in time, like it was premeditated, because it`s too far- fatched, like why go this far for a case. That scene between Director and Goo Ryun was confusing, but it doesn`t mean that it was implied something more than what was discussed, at least this is my opinion on it. Like, i don`t see how Goo Ryun was supposed to be aware of having to do something specific ( beside finding information about what happened in the past and find the fried chicken) based on that specific conversation. Goo Ryun wanted to get that chicken from the past, find that specific fried chicken because Joon Woong has said that fried chicken is important. So that was the initial mission but then they started to change the past. Joon Woong is the one that told to Goo Ryun that they have to get that fried chicken. The director was also not happy about what Goo Ryun has done, this was obvious. Goo Ryun was punished for what she has done, ( the essential reason being that she has intervened in the past) which implies that is something the director didn`t planned and approved of.
like other people, i thought on ep 3 that it was weird for ryeon & jun woong to intervene in the past but— according…
I don`t think it was predetermined . In ep 3 Jae Soo said to Joon Woong when they were having chicken that " Failure means you should try again" and that he has heard it from his father. But this doesn`t means he has heard it for the first time from his father, in the night when Jae Soo and his family were eating chicken. His father could have said this to Jae Soo before ( for exemple in other ocasions while they have eaten chicken), but he was so depressed and down with all coming crushing down on him that he forget to follow the words he has said and believe in. It`s a hell of a coincidence that Goo Ryun used the same words exactly in that time though. It would be weird if is predestinated, like why it would be, you know? The drama don`t have a reason to go in that direction. This don`t means what you said is not possible, but i think everything being predetermined only makes things even more messy than they are. Anyway, ep 4 is a bit confusing.
I was so confused on this. They saved a person from death and the future wasn't changed?jaesoons father didn't…
Yes. It can be the other way around too. But only when it comes to what happened after his father suicide was prevented. Beause in his original past, is obvious his father would have died of suicide if he wasn`t stopped. Like he would have gone to smash his car into something and would have died otherwise. Jae Soon also most likely knew that his father has commited suicide ( before his past was changed) because he has mentioned he remembered the look his father had before he died, so he intuited something. I don`t think Jae Soo was and it`s a genuinely positive person. I think he tries to look like he is happy and contented with his life, because this is the only way for him to move on with his life. He tries, and is a good person at heart so i think he will be alright for now on. I wish the drama has made things more clear, but at least this chapter of the story is over.
