It might be that i also listened to the two CDs available, and i grasped more than just reading the spanish transcript, and thus it was really funny reading your comment.
Lol, Hira is far away from being a "total animal", at least he asks for permission about almost anything and he knows when to stop ( i know you weren`t saying it in a serious way, but lol, it was funny reading that part). In my opinion he is really gentle and patient with Kiyoi when they have sex, but maybe people will be able to realise this more clearly only by listening to the CDs. If you had read before some chinese BL novels that has explicit scenes, you wouldn`t be able to associate Hira with that word.

For what i know, Hira is more firm only when he initiates for them to become intimate for the same time, because he can`t stop his impulses on wanting to touch Kiyoi anymore, and they are both young at this time, young and both wanting each other but being unable with because you know, all these misunderstandings. It`s because of this that Kiyoi is especially weak to Hira when they are having their first time. Their first time is a bit special. After, Kiyoi has the upper hand of when they have sex, and they have sex usually when Kiyoi gives Hira permission to do it. So this is the dynamic when they are intimate basically. Even if Hira wants to have sex, they will have sex only when both are willing to do it. Sometimes Kiyoi is the one that initiates for them to have sex, i guess they are like normal couples lol.
From what i observed Hira stuttering gets much better, because he is able to overcome it most of the time even when he is working, and when he is with Kiyoi he don`t stutter almost at all.
From what i read from people who read the novel, it seems Hira is much more tall than Kiyoi, is really handsome, has more of an actor look like, but because of his haircut and the unimpressive clothes he wears ( the clothes he wears are also in the neutral side in the drama too) people don`t notice how handsome he is.

This is nothing, in the time where the drama was still airing, there were so many people who saw Kiyoi as the biggest bully and jerk that can be found in the BL universe, that i was pained almost everyday reading the comments. Things are getting better now.

There is not any reply from me, i didn`t write anything to her, and i don` t plan to since i was really angry for the way she has writed the previous comments here, and i think is not worth wasting my time in conversing with her.

In the upper right side of every review, below the number of eps seen ( like for exemple 6 of 6 eps seen and alongside where it says COMPLETED. Honestly, i am really relieved you answered my previous reply and that i get to talk with you like that, because i got the impression this is the reaction i will get from you.
I know you are talking about the drama, i did mentioned some exemples from the drama of how i can`t see how based on how Hira is presented in the drama, you get the impression that he will get out of control and hurt Kiyoi, or how he can`t get better and how he will most likely become worse than how he is now.
Hira will get better, but it happens slowly, over the course of three novels, which i found to be really realistic.
Yes, the novel and drama are different but japanese BLs usually adapts the source material really close, and the drama is a faithful adaptation of the novel. I think this drama especially is one of the most faithful adaptation of the source material that Japan has made and released until now, because they nailed the characters personalitites and behaviour. Even if they make a second season which will adapt the second novel, the content will be really similar to how is in the novel.
I have only mentioned what happens in the novel, for you to understand why i think Hira will never become the kind o+f character you think he will most likely become.
And yes, i also studied psychotherapy in university as part of my major, even trough it was more than five years ago since i graduated from university and because of this i will not be able to go as far as saying that Hira issues are or will get so big that he needs to see a specialist.
I am not an obsessive fan of the novels okay, i just don`t want your words to be taken at face value by other people, and to think this is how Hira will turn up to be in the novels.

It works with one report too, as long as there are given valid reasons on why it should be removed. I tought of some obviously reasons and i am working on reporting it now. There is another reviewer who has given the drama a low rating, while calling te characters piece of shit, psychotic and crazy lol. I reported a person review a few days ago, where the person hasn`t even writed anything, but has given the drama a rating of 1 and then just added a tiktok link multiple times, which looked like a spam, and the review was removed really quickly. I will go read that review since you made me curious.

Now, i`m starting to think that maybe you didn`t want to genuinely listen to other people perspective on this, but just wanted someone to agree with you. I am sorry if i seem harsh, but i think you are seeing the things you want, but not the way Hira is portrayed in the drama. Like, think from his perspective too, he has been looked down, bullied, feeling as an outsider all his life, is not out of place that he will become really attached to the first person who catches his eye, who he is attracted too and who actually treat him as an equal and really looks at him for the person he is. Hira is young too when he meets Kiyoi, he has a lot of grown to do, he has good education, and he never had violent tendencies. Not matter how obsessed a person is about someone, he has to have seen or experienced violent things, or at least done something violent before without any reason for him to hurt his partner. People don`t become violent, manipulative or i don`t know likes to hurt others just because.

Nobody can stop you to imagine what you want, but at least it has to be based on something no? It`s not okay to assume that every person or character in this case, whose love for someone is mixed with infatuation, obsession, will become out of control and hurt their partner. Like, if every partner in a relationship will think like this, then the relationship will not last long.
Like really, this is too far-fetched. Hira has done nothing to the extent for you to think like this, and like i and a lot of people will tell you ( i am not only me who has knowledge about the novel, there are a lot of people) , he will be able to control his infatuation and obsession with Kiyoi. Things will get better not worse. We already told you that.
The novels writed by Nagira Yuu are psychological yes, but the story never goes too dark, and is writed like this for the characters to understand each other better, learn from their mistakes and become a happy couple against everyone expectations.
Until now, in the drama Hira hasn`t done anything against Kiyoi will, he always ask permission, he has cut contact with him even through he didn`t wanted too, he always respect his wishes. I am sure if you will read the novels you will change your mind about this, you don`t even need to know NAGIRA YUU intention on how he intented to write Hira, because is clear enough in the novels.
I will add something, which is an important spoiler in the second novel, but since maybe it will help you understand where i am coming from, i will mention it. There is a moment in the second novel, where Kiyoi wishes Hira thinks more of what his toughts are of the decisions he takes, and Kiyoi suggests that he should move out ( they lived together then), and then Hira immediately after just accepts this really easily, says he is the one he should move out, and Hira really didn`t tried to contact Kiyoi at all after, that much he respects what Kiyoi wants. I mean he shouldn`t have just walked away like this, but this is not my point, the point is that all Hira wants is for Kiyoi to be happy and he will never do something that will make him sad,
In the relationship between them, Kiyoi is the most jealous one, not Hira, and Kiyoi jealousy is always temporary and superficial. Nagira Yuu don`t let jealousy become an issue in their relationship, and she don`t adds conflicts that are unecessary.
There is also the scene with Kiyoi and Iruma in that after party, where Hira tought that KiyoI might be together with Iruma and let his toughts wander. But this is all he does, everyones does this, he is just looking bothered and nothing else. Hira don`t do anything else here, he don`t even ask about Kiyoi relationship with Iruma.
Kiyoi will also never turn a blind eye at Hira behaviour, especially if he feels his behaviour is hurting him and cause damage to their relationship, Kiyoi is not that kind of guy, and their relationship wouldn`t last long term if that is the case.
Sorry if it seems that i am too much, but as someone who knows how gentle, kind, warm Hira is in the relationship with Kiyoi in the novels, i am having a hard time seeing you thinking this way of Hira.

Hira does retaliate in the end, is shown in ep 5 from Kiyoi POV. He punched Shirota and he would have continued to beat him if he was not stoped. And it is shown in ep 5 that he stops going with the flow and doing things that others is telling him to do, when he rejects Koyama confession and basically tells him to back off because otherwise he will avoid him.
It`s also obvious he becomes confident enough to initiate things related to his relationship with Kiyoi in the last episode.
I don`t know if you watched all the episodes or from where you stoped to watch the drama, but i think both Hira and Kiyoi goes through enough character development over the course of 6 short eps.
For me, even without knowing more about how Hira is in the novel, i suspected from watching the drama that his low self- esteem comes from him being looked down, pitied and sometimes bullied from where he is a child.
If you remember at the beginning of the first ep, Hira has tought that self-introduction in the first day of school/new class, things like this, is the scariest thing for him, because he most likely ends up stuttering every time and people make fun of it because of this. There is also that scene when he said he become an invisible man to other people in class and that he is okay with it, since he don`t want for people to notice him and maybe ever bully him more, which again hints that he is used to this, and that he most likely experienced things even worse than this. Another important scene in my opinion that hints that Hira was bullied in the past, is where is telling to Kiyoi that he is grateful to him for being late in class, since he prevented other people to notice him more and start to pick on him even more.
I am sure i am not the only one that i interpreted these scenes this way, i mean i think the hints were all over the place.

You really understood the story well, and this comes from someone who knows how Kiyoi and Hira relationship is in the source material ( novel).

I know some movies where the characters break up and meet each other again in the future, but there is not really a time jump.
- The cornered mouse dreams of cheese- the characters have a period of not seeing each other after they break up, but it don`t last long. This movie has the ending a bit changed compared with the manga, but is still overall one of my favorite japanese BL movie. It has an open ending, while the manga has a happy ending.
- Life: senjou no bokura- the characters son`t see each other for a few years after they break up.
- Pornographer, Moon indigo and Pornographer playback has a lot of moments where the characters stay away from wach other for long period of time, because of breaking up, misunderstandings, etc
-His, the movie- has the characters reunited at the beginning of the story, after they were together and then break up in the past. There are separated for a lot of years. But it didn`t like this movie a lot, i didn`t like the actors casted., the acting and the chemistry.
- In the movie, No Touching At All , the characters break up at some point too, and find the path to each other after some time pass too.
Japan does like to adapt stories where the characters separate and are reunited in the end. Even in the BG dramas and movies with original script, they really like this trope.

I should let other people answer posts like the one you made too, but i guess i always fear that people wouldn` t get the most accurate take on Hira and Kiyoi relationship, so i can`t help myself from writing about this.
People who are used to lurk in this page for a long time know that the romance between Hira and Kiyoi have heavy psychological elements. I and a few other people who has knowledge about how Hira and Kiyoi are in the source material (novel) this drama is adapted from, has explained before a lot of times that both characters are really flawed and have a lot of growing and maturing to do, both individually and when it comes to their relationship.
As you mentioned in your post, Hira love for Kiyoi is mixed with infatuation, obsession, this was obvious to me even before researching how they are in the novel and listening to the CDs.
Kiyoi is the one that likes Hira in a more nomal way and the one that will also be fighting the most to keep the relationship between them to keep going. Like you said, the kind of love Hira has will continue to bring problems in their relationship, the obsession and infatuation will not disappear suddendly just because Kiyoi wants it. But is still love, Hira does love Kiyoi, if it wasn`t for this. Hira wouldn`t have been able to still respect Kiyoi boundaries and stay away from him in the time they weren`t apart. The fact that Hira loves Kiyoi and also because he was educated well, he does manage to keep himself in check and don`t do too many stupid things.
You were right about Hira personality and toughts when it comes to Kiyoi for the most part, but there are some things that are differently told in the source material that i have to mention: Hira love for Kiyoi is so strong that he wants to do everything to make him happy, but he will never get to the point that he will harm other people around Kiyoi for Kiyoi to be happy, he will never be manipulative, harm other people and Kiyoi too in purpose. What happened with Shirota was something that that guy has it coming, he was too much lol, i would want to punch him too, and i think maybe i would do the same in Hira place. Hira is still a really good and decent guy, he is incapable of hurting anyone, he will not hurt anyone to keep Kiyoi for himself. There is a scene in the second novel, which will see if it will ever get adapted too, when Hira will have to psychically fight with someone to protect Kiyoi, and Hira is not that violent, in the contrary, he is the one that will get really hurt from the fight.
Hira limerence will still prevent Hira to consider Kiyoi feelings when he does something, and this will make Kiyoi angry, but as they are two in this relationship, and Kiyoi knows that this is how Hira love for him is, he will not let their relationship between them end easily.
As i mentioned in a lot of the comments i made before, their relationship don`t start as the most healthy one, but because both of them are honest to each other, and recognize that Hira love is the way it is, the beginning of the relationship has a strong foundation, and because of this their relationship and understanding of each other will only become stronger/better.

Now, the last thing i want to say is that the novel this drama is adapted from , named UTSUKUSHII KARE too, is part of a three novel series/parts/volumes, and this drama only adapted the content of the first novel. The other two novels has Hira and Kiyoi relationship become stronger, as they date, live together and learn continuously from the mistakes they make, which is why their relationship works for them.
The reason i really like the novels is because of the psychological elements, and how Hira and Kiyoi grow and learn from their mistakes continuously. Nagira Yuu has writed the novel brillantly, honestly she deserve an award for writing this novel, but at least a lot of people has recognized how well writed the novel is, because this novel series is really popular in Japan.

I also think is because the drama has really tried to tell the story in a way that is really close to how it is in the source material (as this drama is a really faithful adaptation of the source material, which i am really grateful for), that people who don`t interpret what happens in the drama taking in consideration the whole picture, and don`t try to really understand these characters behaviour, will really dislike the drama, and there is not way to convince them to like the story told.

Lol, i keep making all these posts, but even until know i haven`t managed to pull myself together to write a review of the drama. Hopefully, i will manage to do it today.

The drama is adapted from a novel, not a manga.
I read that there is a manga adaptation of the novel too, but it was released recently, so it has only one chapter out i think.
