Anyone who says this show is underrated, doesn't know anything about ratings. First, 6.8 overall is better than…
Ratings are very subjective anyway, and doesn't mean 5 for you is average people take it thay way. For me, a show I've enjoyed but just average is 8. A show I've watched that is not too bad is 7.5, sometimes 7. If I rate lower than that, it must be bad according to my taste.
I'm not quite sure on how people rate, but I believe casual users rate this way as well — that said, in my opinion when I see the ratings 7.5 - 7.9 can be considered an "average" rating for a drama that is not very good but def not the worst. 8 is good somehow. Ratings between 8.3 - 8.4 is generous enough. 8.5 + is really good. 9+ is exceptional. And ratings lower than 7.4 is definitely not everyone's cup of tea. It seems different on older shows and movies.
Anyway, these are just my observations. A very bad rating (like this one tho) should not determine that a drama is INDEED bad, but might not just be enjoyed by many users. I've rated this drama higher because I've honestly enjoyed it despite flaws and I believe the story was good.
I've seen lots of comment how overrated this drama was and how clusterfuck the pacing and writing about it — it kinda affected my perception about the drama as well tbh. But, looking back — I've watched it when I was 16 or 17 and I really liked it and raved about it online. It was a rollercoaster of emotions — it was a wild wild ride. The characters I loved are suddenly becoming two face too soon and their actions hurted me — like I was betrayed BUT I fully enjoyed those emotional whipslashes. I was giggling, happy, annoyed, betrayed, happy again, sad, and heartbroken and I think not in a so bad way? The ending left me a heartbroken for like up to 3 days and because I've bingewatched, as I head towards the ending I'm definitely not in a so good condition lol. And I remembered that I kind of disliked the ending because of PPL (and not actually because it's tragic), but I still I liked it overall. It was a drama that fcked up my emotions so bad and made me giggle in the first half and I believe it was cathartic at some point.
This might not be a perfect one or a masterpiece — and I may agree that it's a bit overrated when people call this a masterpiece, but I'm guessing that its uneven spots might also what draw other people to love this one. Though, honestly I'm not waiting for a season 2 anymore — because I think it's already great that way it ended in all. While yes when the heartbreak was freshed, I was cheering for a Season 2, but I've moved on and I appreciate the ending they did and a season 2 might not be what it needs. Come on just imagine that they meet again in the future and it's fate, they fell in love, helped each other, be there for each other, got married, had a kid and live their old days in sickness and health, in gloom and bliss of happiness.
Maybe it's you who expected that'll be the same as Goblin but it's not. This is a slow-paced healing drama that…
I personally think that dramas do not always need to offer new or become groundbreaking to resonate to its intended viewers. If anything, I think the drama failed with the promotion because it definitely reached the wrong audiences who are supposedly in the mood for fast-paced and plot-driven fantasy romcom drama that'll always keep them on the edge. On the other hand, Doom At Your Service is best enjoyed on a slower-paced and a careful watch. If I may compare, DAYS to me is like Only Yesterday on array of the beloved Ghibli films.
Maybe it's you who expected that'll be the same as Goblin but it's not. This is a slow-paced healing drama that leads toward more humane representation of our lives and unlike Goblin it's not heavy on fantasy elements nor on the romcom side — but on subtle emotions, and that's what's beautiful about it.
In which episode did they get together? In which episode did they breakup and get back again?Any love triangle…
My memory isn't quite good but I think they "officially" got together on Ep 10. They separated on Ep 12 and get back again on Ep 14. Absolutely happy ending and healing drama.
I SO AGREE WITH THE REVIEWS ABOVE. LITERALLY, THE BEST ROMCOM EVER?? Okay, so I've already watched this many times as a kid, and as and adult I've rewatched it last year and it waaaas soo good. The family, friendship, liveliness, angst and everything are just awesome! ;D
This is such a good and beautiful healing drama...♡ As for the love triangle between the second characters, I felt they're a little disjointed with the main storyline but I still liked it. It's nice for me and I was also waiting for it to be crazy love triangle (because of people not liking it) but it didn't so I'm really glad with the direction they had with it. It hqs some problematic premise, but I still felt like it was nicely done — esp the brotherhood between Cha Joo Ik and Lee Hyun Kyu.
In the end though, I felt like their storyline actually came through with the main message / theme of the drama about life and being alive and new starts — so, my conclusion is that I loved everything about DAYS.
don't listen to the comments if you're into slow burners, calm dramas, classics, and beautiful cinematography and life lessons! Definitely one of my favorites :)
I'm not quite sure if you liked or disliked Ep 15, but I agree with most of your points! Personally, I resonated…
Also loved the dynamics of Myul-mang and Dong-kyung! Plus the way, their bond was naturally formed and deepend based on their circumstances and emotional turmoils. :)

It's really goood if you enjoy slow-paced dramas.
