er it was ok and 8.3 is high imo but mostly i think a big drawback is how empty the scenes sound. it's really frustrating to watch and hear like they didnt bother with atmos tracks. i'm going to rewatch it again because i sincerely did not connect with it the way a lot of people did (and that doesn't bother me but maybe i am missing something) and maybe i misremember how the production was there's 50% chance i had alcohol while watching
Yes. Strictly speaking, this drama is not a BL. At least i don`t considered it to be.I think it fits more in the…
thanks for this! that's super interesting. i find it funny that it has to be specifically 2 [cis ofc] men that are what solidifies it as long as they end up together and not about the exploration and what this attempts to pull. i didn't know that about the shoujo stuff but that makes sense—girls are "supposed" to be more accepting of fluidity so. i am excited to see what the show has to say outside of our silly and oppressive gender/identity formations. perhaps the issue is that we have to separate them for them to have some legitimacy as if stories about girls, even with boys, aren't valid either (or girls with girls or girls with a person who may not identify) but WHATEVER. anyways this was interesting to read, thanks mate. i'm definitely motivated to put it on my list
As a Korean viewer who enjoyed the series very much (the best KBL I've watched, so far), I wanted to share some…
wow@ theater boy. i was rly surprised! good for him and obvs good on jo hyokjoon like he and eunbin did a really fantastic job. the mom scene fucked me up.
It seemed to me they implied they had sex by showing all the clothes, socks etc on the floor. More was on the…
i mean there's a happy medium between an ideal world and a real world that people can imagine and this would be it. where gender actually shouldn't, and doesn't, matter as astronomically much as it does in our real world. and these shows are open to all audiences but they are specifically made in korea for koreans not to pander to the west; it's just a different imagining of a nice and kind romanitc world
Character depth. The plot is fairly good. Chemistry as well. But the characters arent well-developed or well-rounded.…
agree with your comment totally esp with daun. it would be really great to see an expanded world where we can see where all their stories go. but at least they made it clear that he came around and couldn't hold back anymore but the compressed timing of the show makes it harder to do so. but it shows their prowess for getting u sto graps the fullness of this world they created so! not so one dimensional
this was great and it made me miss getting up at 5 am, cigarettes, shitty coffee all for production.
but wow! i wasn't really expecting to care for it as much as i did. it really moved me (and the mom thing rly did) so it was effective and affective (and seriously it was film school to a t)
think i'll even review it soon while i have an alcoholic wine
also they are so in love and idk man i rly enjoyed it and now im mad everything i watch isnt this
HELL YES I LOVE THIIIISSSSSSSSSSSi wish that in the west (at least all ive ever lived is UK, US msot of my life,…
even tho these arent trios always, biological (?) or familial? sisters also can exemplify this really close-knit friendship expression that works so well in k-dramas but i think we can safely say that for the most part even if not nominal family these women do become sisters.
it's interesting how we all have so much longer to go in terms of changing the world, and there's so many setbacks, but every culture has things that are really good at engendering good feelings and seeing interesting livelihoods for marginalized groups. friendship in kdramas is one of those so it also means that so many people want to and are open to seeing women portrayed as humans and around other women not as competition (or alternatively to fall at their feet just bc they are women). idk it just seems to imagine a world well where women's friendship can really go above what we tend to think of this group of people and imagine a world in which you're actually protected when you need help and empowered when you should be.
thank you for the information!
