actually i think i know why. with the ending of s1, we kind of had this thing unearthed for us? like it was just such an awkward ending and they literally couldnt walk it back. all i see when i watch them now is that and then it becomes so clear how shallow it is? but there's nothing else to support it like tension because it's constantly maneuvering. and you can tell they would be uncomfortable but it's like.....then this is a shitty choice for you. you can just feel it. it isnt comparable to anything i dont\'t want stans coming for me. theyre two diff dramas but still....in terms of people having deep chemistry 1000 stars is a greaet example and they barely have to touch.

they really hit majorly with this one. although another super popular series from this channel (sotus) i feel sort of the same as this. there's soooo much avoiding of intimacy and its so glaring now how they just place two men together in this industry with 0 care as to how they could possibly feel about it. these ne wactors are barely comfortable on camera around /women/ and then it's like....the actor sjust. fucking. cant. move past it. and so the production goes around it!

with a "spy" as the main character they are absolving the government and the use of state enforcement (NIS, police) by including some sort of justification. it is not just a time they are using from a backdrop they literally say that the guy is a SPY from the "motherland" so it isn't just for entertainment if they are using a real event to distort facts so then people can then internalize that and continue to harbor anti-north korean sentiment and government violence forgiveness.

it may be fiction but if the fiction is based on real life then you need to honor the true history. they are literally mimicking this story except the man hae in is to play is based off of a man who was tortured and a prisoner because he was THOUGHT to be a korean spy because he fled from the third reich. it reinforces the seperation and absolves the horrors their government did in the name of their interest. they killed and tortured people and continued to do so in the name of erasing unrest, to scare people away from communismor whatever, and to get ppl under authority. so i get it, i get what you're saying, but it isn't just a story for you or us to have fun. it's more than that.
