no it isn't censorship because it's a private company. what are you talking about? do you know how funding and…
nah you still dont know. anyway here's some light reading you probably wont do. good luck to you. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/sep/03/the-myth-of-the-free-speech-crisis

and self-censorship is therefore not something the state is enacting. the state as in this body that rules cannot tell you what to do or say in your life at what avenue. but everything is fucking censored. so talking about censorship in this way we are being specific to mean it is DETRIMENTAL to society and gives corporations more power. NO.

private companies and YOURSELF are not the state. adhering to policies of property by the owners is not explicity detrimental which is what censorship is implying. if no discrimination is censorship as well, which to you it is, then you are out of your fucking mind.

it is censorship in the most basic of senses, not cnesorship that is a detriment to society. radical voices get censored all the fucking time. plenty of writers ae changing to get their dumb governments off their back. what happens with BL in china is censorship. facebook HIDING posts promoting leftist ideas while it not being in their TOS and then favoring ads that target demographics for influence that will alwys be beneficial to the company? that's like actually something that means something. teachers being fired for supporting boycotting goods from israel? that's cesnorship with real meaning. that is the censorship we mean because it will literally affects society. what we are talking about is fucking regulation and not really censorship. god grow up.

"Where can i vote to let them air this drama. I don't care about the historical or political blames. only housands of people were murdered by their government over a red scare and need for control at the behest and hand in hand with the US government. I have been waiting for this drama, for me this is the only one drama i have been having my mind on. i don't care about who died! WTH is going on! Seriously...! if they want to lie about who enacted terror on their own people let them.
I hope it gets air in June as scheduled so those pesky idiots who want the drama to acknowledge and not distort the truth. so that these massacres are now even more obfuscated and lied about in the media whilst the government actively continues to suppress others while hiding the horrors that happened and reporting low numbers of terror and death. who cares if that's denial and it's literally detrimental to us. who cares if that's propaganda to justify the murderous state. because ME!!! I've been WAITING!"

no it isn't censorship because it's a private company. what are you talking about? do you know how funding and…
uh no it doesn't. it has everything to do with it. if you are privatized you follow your own rules and terms of service. it isnt censorship if they are literally enforcing the rules and they are the decision makers. they are the ones who decides if it airs or not, pressure does not mean power. that is not censorship. and on top of that, we are censored everyday. on this website i cannot say caustic, antagonistic, or violent things to you because those are the rules. sure, censorship but i'll get over it. on one website i frequent i literally cannot say communist, and i am a libertarian communist. that's censorship and i don't like it at all but it's their website and i learn to fucking deal. i use it so i am consenting to the things they have outlined. if we are going to say what is happening here is censorship then everything is.

you don't know what you are talking about. publishers do that because it's called editing. are you out of your mind? literally a notable public publishing house fucking dropped one of its creators for being at the capitol riot and conservatives were using this exact argument. when the publishing world is disgusting in itself so they were for once doing something. creators change things to please all the time because they have to. why do you think product placement exists? when i am making a film i have to apply to the state to see if i can film somewhere if it's public, or talk to the owners of a shop, and they ask to see your script because if they are not okay with what is in it or they think you should change it then you do if you want to film and shoot there. you do not know what you are talking about at all and it's clear. also clear you do not know anything about production lol

"Can you imagine a story, satirical or not, about USA just before 9/11 scheming, looking for a way to declare…
this is long my b...
me too bb!! (being a stupid american.) and yea it's common for kids to do it. or it was. even in majorit black schools. the thing is that while you're doing it you have no idea what's happening so you don't know as a black kid you're literally reliving out your trauma that continues in different forms today. we were property and acting as property but we didn't know it. to go back and know that that was a simulation for us to understand something we know through traumatic memory and living in the world now as millenials, it's insulting. to have us do that and then not teach us or lie when they do it because the books allow them too and htey don't give a fuck about black kids. sadly, i still don't know that much about chattel slavery and what happened even if i'm radical. it's goibng to take me years to come to a concrete understanding since i lost years before i was able to enter a more complex plac eof thought (college.) but....we....didnt learn it well. and that's awful for black kids esp.

im 29 so it was such a strange specific time. 9/11 had happened a couple years later when i was like 10. it's crazy to see the trauma we have lived through. and the concept of time in this post by other users seems to be almost nonexistent. my mother was born in 1957 to a black father and white mom in michigan. the things she's seen, experienced, lived through are immense. same with my father when he came to the US fleeing from genocide. and it just keeps going. replicating. harm in different ways that isn't explicitly murder though it definitely can be! time never just STOPPED where something "ended" a woman who was born during some of the heaviest civil rights movement (which is why 2020 is so important since we haven't seen something so big in the US in so long and this time it was so different and unprcedented that what happened this summer is going to go down in history books as some of the most transformative parts in history) and the trauma never stops and ends there. not only that, but abroad directly affects us too....like SA apartheid, that means things exacerbate over here too. still, it is hard to not feel so fucking down. but as massive as the losses are, we have to relish the wins. it's so hard to do.

idk if you like youtube but i have som really awesome ppl i love to wathc on there and there's this video that i think you may like. i love the user! youtube.com/channel/UCUzmizB92LJ9oxf5T_snZNA that's if you dont know them already.

have you seen that meme and i think a south asian woman is like, "the american people are not, how you say, intelligent" lmaooooo and iKR. thankfully tho we can also blame europe >:) the ultimate evil.

i had to stop wiht organizing during the pandemic esp after the floyd death. i run my union's twitter account but i justk knew i was putting myself in danger. i've been laying low for about a year since i can't go outside (parents immuno compromised and i had to move back in with them, but i am getting second vaxx soon!) and i keep trying to ease back into it. the anger always gets me fired up to go back into action so we can use that anger for concrete things like you said. it sucks bc the communal aspect of organizing and mobilizing (i am not an activist, i am an artist but i do org work) is so lacking now too so it kills me. but we are trying. people are trying and have fought and will continue to. i can't see how these convos aren't nuanced but i know that i'm an annoying leftist and other people may be too or just have you know the ability to think and want to do better. we've all learned so much during this year i feel like because of constant pain. i cannot see why people want to ignore this.

idk much about cortes but now im finna look! the ways people have fought back over the years is amazing and so admirable. i saw nokdu flower and it was really interesting (i do have minor complaints) and many people don't know this but about 100 yrs before was the haitian revolution which is the only slave revolt to have succeeded. it definitely affected other movements and i was so impressed. did more research and i could see why so many black people could connect with koreans (even if they are anti black) because i could nevr understand why i felt such an affinity even while being insulted lmao. even tho i was radical before that just even knowing those pieces of history globally itputs so much into place. now i can make even more direct lines between all of that and, say, the vietnam war. americans just arent taught shit. and i know other places and countries too clearly by this post. the world is so bad BUT WE'RE GONNA FIGHT!!!

i recommend this drama for some education at least. it isn't perfect but it will get a lot of you somewhere. they would never pull this shit and try and say it's progressive. they wouldn't write it and try and lie. they respect their earth and history as human beings in south korea and around the world. now how is it that this show is incredibly fictionalized and shows an immense tragedy (one that isn't even akin to america's jan 6 bc a whole capital building was blwon up and a major tragedy. MAJOR. and storming the capitol is a big deal.) so the drama starts off that way which is a lie and already salacious, right? but they manage to not deny their government supporting imperialism and needing it for control and capital. they do not blame north korea when talking about reunifcation and they acknowledge other historical events. https://kisskh.at/32227-designated-survivor i haven't watched in a while and my idea may change but AT LEAST it gives you an idea of what to do semi-right when recreating a piece that is significantly important to history. hell dude even stranger 2!!!!!! damn watch that!

also have any of you seen actual satire? inglorious basterds? SKY castle was satire though they could have executed it way better. it's astonoshing that knowing who the writers are of this show people then want to gloss over their own negligence when it's clear they can make a work at least attempting to attack capitalism. i just want people to keep fighting this thought and tell ppl it is unacceptable. it's cruel to feel that your enjoyment is being ripped away when a small set of people want it out or even cut out but you're worried about yourself. selfish. i'm significantly troubled by this response especially if you feel the need to voice what you do in 2021 with the pandemic. shame on you.

lmao...seriously after watching the drama who would give this much thought to it that 'this happened at that time'…
why dont any of you understand how big of a deal it is that you say you don't care about the millions of people that were murdered and are fine with the story being innacurate even though the backdrop is literal history. from this century. not comparative to any historical works. it was 1987 leading up from a really tough time for these kids to live in. maybe it's because you haven't experienced horrors like this based on who you are and how you grew up. but as we live in a pandemic now, if i chose to make a work and shop it around and say that the US government was really good in what they did with covid and rewrite history to absolve tragedy then i would be lit the fuck up AS I SHOULD BE. in no work where a world is going through sth major do they just decide to totally lie about it and they are going to already put their own bullshit capitalist spin on it anyway. but they are guaranteeing that something that was radical and important is going to be bastardized. stop acting like it's just a story because you don't understand.

no it isn't censorship because it's a private company. what are you talking about? do you know how funding and filmmaking works?

but your beginning is correct. it's a subset of te population that give a shit and are saying it but not 50m people. ergo cancel culture is some made up boogeyman. again, it is not censorship.

It's really a complicated issue. As some wrote, freedom of expression should be respected, but my point is that…
if you lived in europe and you are trying to use your art to say that this situation was something like the third reich. imagine saying, no, that didn't happen or even questioning it. in europe there's laws because of how massively they ruined the world (and still do) with what happened. we barely reckon with history as is, europeans dont understand their own history througout the world, all our educations suck but even through all that....it's still illegal.

you have a really good point btw but i think that a work like this COULD be made! think of "inglorious basterds" or even "django unchained" (which i cannot stnad and think it is a bad movie) but these movies never ever ever ever question IF the terrors happened and IF these people dieserve it. they don't ignore the actual issues. so if you were to make this story and make it an allegory, you take time and care. you wouldn't dare do something to imply the oppressed deserve it or lie about the facts then spread it to people. you're absolutely right that extreme cases do need diff treatment.

but the thing is, this isn't a contesting of freedom of speech. i don't know much about SK's constitution (i do know america "helped" with it though so that should give us some great insight) so IDK about free speech laws but people fail to realize is that these companies are PRIVATE ergo they can and do whatever the fuck they want. imagine if this script didnt leak lol.

everything is censored in our lives. people don't know we're being censored nad we censor ourselves. and people are allowed to complain when they don't like something. the company buckles under pressure, but people say collectively korean people have more power than the fucking rich as hell actors and comfortable writers just cause they voice it? these stations are not publically funded (cable so no) in fact if u were to fund it on your own it wouldnt be better but it would actually be MORE acceptable for you to do because it;s literally more your stuff and money. not acceptable....it's just that you can if you are making a wholly independent project and wanted to make some fascist propaganda you totally could on your own dime! people do it! and people complain about it! but they exist because like you said ALL your own money, YOUR own release, YOUR own broadcast. it seems people don't get that there's no freedom when you're under privatization or asking ofr asistance from the public/publically funded bc now u have conditions and you OWE them. nothing about these projects are solely independent. people also don't get how filmmaking works in these comments.

i really appreciate your comment. it took me a while to process it yesterday but you male a fabulous point about replicating a tragedy and writing about it however that is fine it's just that you...cant fuck that up and lie. a great ex would be in shingeki no... (attack on titan, idk the japanese title) they have absolute anti semitic dog whistles. that's disgusting. and even worse when you understand japan's involvement in WWII and what they did to east asia particularly in this example in conjunction with south korean occupation. i'm sure people over there complained but not enough nbc theres so much imagery that we have gotten used to. hell even in k-dramas and to normalize that is bad, it is scary. evne in harry potter the people guarding the banks are short huge nosed trolls. and in our brains it means nothing if you know nothing but as you get older you start realizing and absorbing all that. this stuff seeps and it becomes acceptable and we cannot have that happen. we tell stories about how to progress and the terrors of the world and the power of the people either correctly or you get hordes of peopple demanding to take it off. and even then, they wouldn't have to. but then, dont be surprised when people come out in droves to shit on it or find their ways to fix it.

this was a catalyst "Summer of Terror: At least 100,000 said executed by Korean ally of US in 1950 [with interactive video]" for the events happening in the show. they are trying to change it to, essentially, "Summer of Terror: At least 100,000 said executed by North Korea only sort of in the way it's South Korea but no no no North Korean Spies." all the while trying to reunify? to talk about a democratic movement that certainly wouldnt blame them and doesn't want to? is that daily dose of history for you so unenjoyable because unlike those people, you're alive. if the government were to destroy your family and then a show comes out and lies about the absolute destruction that was wrought you're right i don't give a fuck abt u and what happened to u, so now im gonna watch a whole show that said actually it was YOUR fault.
