when she had that convo with jun ho in ep 7 about his feelings i was so !!! at first i was like "girl!" cos it's okay for her to be petty, i get it, and she's proven herself to be a good kind girl so if she makes a mistake she will apologize/repent and do better. but nope it was her being honest (just like when she said he needs to establish boundaries—she was absolutely right, otoh she needed to see that not everyone feels the same way about everything!) and her looking out for a friend (and someone who hasn't' called her a friend yet!) such a well-written character and ha yoon kyung is fabulous! beautiful aura, face, body language, and a gorgeous voice! ep 6 was so good i hope we have another them-centric episode. i'd love to see how she and geu rami are as well!

right??? i like how the show reveals a complex rship for her. like she's not being or ever was mean—just frustrated at many points but the frustration isn't anger. even when she talked about FWA she wasn't angry. when she gave her the sunshine nickname *_* i straight up (pun intended, nothing straight abt it) have a crush!

the same reasons that woo young woo gets treated like garbage are the same forces that work to decide what a woman/person can or can't do with their body wrt reproduction. they want to be adjudicators of who gets a good life and a bad life based on who is included in their ridiculous category of Man (human). they don't give a shit about woo young woo's life and how she lives. in fact, these are the very same people who support eugenicist practices (the thing mentioned in ep 3 with hans asperger and nazis who created blood theory, the thing that the japanese used and bought into as they were on the axis, the very japanese imperial rule logic and forces that OCCUPIED KOREA pre and during holocaust yrs).

they're interested in preserving ONE type of life—the one that supports hegemony and what can be controlled—and have NO interest in people like woo young woo because, to them, she has never ever been HUMAN (EPISODE 3. AGAIN.) they deem her to be non-human and could give less of a shit if she dies or lives. they condemn people like her, or the Other, to a life of death; living only nominally but not a good life.

they would prefer to never see or hear from someone like her. they won't give people like her the medical support, educational support, social support she needs—they don't want that given to anyone but who they deem worthy and those who are worthy aren't the woo young woo's or the Pengsoo brother—they will only use her life to pretend and obfuscate that their need for control and decision making on whose lives are truly worthy rest on eliminating people like her.

the same people who declare a pandemic to be over because it only kills the immunocompromised and disabled. they don't care about human life beyond who they deem to be worthy of being called human. some commenters here have some nasty and uninformed logic on how this works but you're wrong and all you're doing is working in favor of the systems that make people like woo young woo's lives extremely difficult when they are living breathing and active amazing human beings.

being anti-choice is a fascistic stance and the evidence was given in episode 3 and it's a shame that there are people who give in to this garbage and think it's in service of the woo young woo's in the world because all you care about is the fact of life and not quality of life. it's really fucking disgusting.

yea i am gonna finish ep 8 but i think your point is good. i'm getting annoyed by other comments that are anti-choice and controlling as fuck. and i can see why OP would think this—it would be my first thought too tbqh. hopefully the show is going down a more radical route.

the whole show is political because it is taking things from public interest/social life. she has autism and it explores ableism and being a WOMAN with autism so if you didn't want a show with socio-political under/overtones then. they had a woman who loves another woman, they talked briefly about christian hegemony, there are patriarchal values being explored and torn down, they are exploring gentrification, suicide, and the WHOLE show is about ableism so, again, if you are looking to avoid "politics" then you have come to the very wrong show to do so with.

and no you do not need both to consent to abortion, you do not know what you're talking about at all. and things happen when you have sex. do you understand that?

or maybe they wanted a kid but it didn't shake out—so what? the thing growing inside that woman's body is her to choose what to do with since it affects her life, her body, her mind and no one else's and that thing, the clump of cells, is not living or breathing in the same manner that she is. if the thing needs her body to survive than her survival is tantamount and if she cannot survive with that thing in her then she can choose to remove it.
