The cgi shows an orca for YW aha! moment. The orca’s dorsal fin is lopsided. Which is unnatural when orca’s…
she likes whales and dolphins right? i am so brain empty when she started talking about dolphins suddenly i was like WHAT? but i mean also i didn't know dolphins are whales so here i am egg on my face
Ep 9)) this is the second time they've mentioned marriage or smth related to it. We even saw WYW in wedding dress…
foreshadowing!!! and she said she does (just doesn't want to be 'given away') also lmao at her telling her father she'd prefer him to if he doesn't since it's hard for him cos she was out of wedlock and he's a single father with an autistic child. might as well have said "i mean in the eyes of society ur a thot so good luck finding a woman!" jpisohuaf
9th ep was very hard for me to watch. Because I know this problem too well and I saw many people who either gave…
i was so upset for those kids. it's not fucking fair. it happens in colleges, in HS, kids THEIR AGE and it is ridiculous. they're lucky someone didn't fucking end their life. life is hard enough theyre torturing these children. i completely understand why he felt the way he did and it was really upsetting. i cried when the girl at the fast food place started to talk about it so casually.
I had a question about why does the fl count to 5 on her fingers before entering a door? This seems like a her-specific…
it's one of those things some people do and i'm not sure why but maybe psyching themselves up. i was at a meeting once and this person i know who is on the spectrum did this (and continues to) and i was confused at first then i realized. when i saw it in the show i was like hey woah! that thing!
I dont know where you are seeing this criticism or people stopping it. On most social media i have been seeing…
i think they mean that they would like to see more nuance because for the most part all of the comments are positive. that isn't a bad thing but sometimes it can get confusing and when other people express discontent with something, even minor, some people get upset. but i genuinely would like to know what isn't savory to some people with regards to the content dealing with ASD.
it's completely possible there's stuff to miss or more covert things a lot of us can't pick up on. more dissenting voices are needed
Tbh, I wish people would let Moon Jiwon (screenwriter) face criticism especially by autistic/neurodivergent people.
i have some criticism but about the baby matter. i would love to know what criticism wrt the autism or moderate version of it and other disabilities that may affect people but allow them to do high-skill work. i'm ND technically bc of ADHD (that comes with dyspraxia) but i don't experience this at all obviously so i can't connect the dots. if you are i'd love to hear more about what you dislike or want to (negatively) critique more of
A kdrama without ML’s parents at first being against their relationship , would that be a true kdrama? At least…
no it makes sense! but it's crazy how much wyw has changed after getting much more stimulated socialization (not just school but work where you see the same people and have to think of them as "family" in a [dumb] way) and people who understand her more and have to bc it would be unprofessional. she's so much more in tune than she previously was.
it definitely will be difficult and is completely, and sadly, realistic that the parents could potentially really hate it. a huge chunk of society can't even fathom that they want to have sex and partners and love, families, non-degrading jobs and CAN do those things. it'll be interesting but they can weather the storm cos like you said they already know it'll be so difficult.
geu rami saying "tell me everything including the air, sunlight, clouds, speed of the wind, temperature, and humidity" workplace romances are a no plus her boss is a lot older that being said they r both hot and she would be cute with anyone. introduce her to the hot girl (this is a joke) from ep 2. not min woo tho
lee jung eun has such a noticeable face/aura even in pics and behind a mask. love her. hopefully this show isn't insulting. everyone on the project i really like. something about yeon woo jin frfr
ep 10 story was def a story on l&o SVU. just started it but def fascinating topic. also i loved the beginning…
also i know most ppl don't have disabilities like this (like adhd = / = autism for many of us, or like...needing glasses...carpal tunnel...that kinda stuff. well adhd is a bit more of a beast than that but ykwim) but i'm always amazed at the sort of like...just no registering that someone is so different than what we are used to and knowing that could potentially lead us to the conclusion that there is some neurodivergency or whatever it's called.
this is typical of young kids but adults experience more things. i know it's common and most people aren't emotionally tuned in but it's just confusing to me that it wouldn't cross someone's mind and to adjust their behavior instead of making the other person adjust theirs and getting mad that they don't. like there's like 7 billion goddamn people in the world!

re: previous 2 eps tbqh i think his request of su mi was ridiculous and insulting and i'm not disparaging the decision since i don't particularly think that the writers meant to seem so...anti-choice in a way but....
having a baby and then walking away just for a dude to take care of it is A LOT on your body and makes next to no sense on top of the fact that it is none, zero, absolutely not his body and therefore not his decision to make. she essentially acted as a surrogate. it's an insane request that i, personally, would never be able to fulfill and don't know many others that do—it's a bit coercive.
i'm not even sure if they should reconcile and i'm not sure how i feel about this decision like the idea that you have this connection to a child that you wanted to abort and eventually gave up. not because it's impossible but because it insults the idea that a woman/person will eventually see the thing they chose to give up and then start seeing that they ~shouldn't have given it up~ whether to abort it or to adoption or the father/person. it's not like she got amniocentesis and found something out (and i'm p sure...actually idk but you can't detect autism i'm assuming) and then decided to abort because of that; that's a tough decision and it has ableism within it but ultimately people with disabilities aren't the people to sway us into an anti-choice and anti-abortion decision.
in fact, it impacts them negatively and makes things worse so the eugenics bend can't work in this instance since reproductive justice includes people with disabilities—the right to love, the right to have or not have a child, and the right to do all that with adequate medical care/help; with adequate care people can take care of their disabled child and help them get what they need to live a content and full life not just literally giving birth and leaving. the thing is that autism and disability do not need to be cured because it isn't a fault or a negative.
yes it would be ideal that people absolutely do not struggle but these things just exist so with reproductive justice, this includes abortion, they can be supported and told that their life matters AND they can live good, full, "normal" lives that is supported by the medical system and medical technologies. reproductive technologies that people do not have access to because, surprise surprise, people with disabilities tend to be the poorest bc just to have a child is EXPENSIVE but to nurture and help one live with even more expenditures bc of something you cannot control?
idk how i will feel at the end of this episode so maybe this will change but so far this is a miss to me. like her being born was the end of it and not her quality of life. she is a lucky one with a relatively (morally) intelligent father but i reject him requesting that and i reject su mi's POTENTIALLY (not done w/ ep 10) misguided regret for the reasons above. i kinda spoiled myself and it seems like she's not and i prefer it that way. not because i think she's evil and maybe she is—i don't trust most lawyers and certainly not rich ones at big firms who are Big Liars—but not for this in particular. he asked her a ridiculous request and even though they shouldn't follow through, she's asking for one too. this one is less permanent and stressful psychically, emotionally, and physically.
additionally, women are not natural caretakers. that's not how genes work, as evidenced by what we are learning about genes and transness and gender+sex, and there's no inherent gene. it's a social mechanism that has been so imposed culturally that the imprints remain. but some mothers are just bad. not that they should be allowed to be but many just ARE. a woman's role isn't to have children, not every woman who has a uterus can even have a child, and men with one will struggle. i'm suspecting, and hoping, su-mi is a lot more grey when it comes to the caretaking and reproductive issue. but i hope she gets what she deserves for her transgressions that helps people be capitalist scum not because she ATTEMPTED and still attempts to take control of something that was asked of her.
ep 10 story was def a story on l&o SVU. just started it but def fascinating topic. also i loved the beginning with the miranda rights; know your rights!! cops suck and they usu try that shit. idk WHY netflix is translating to 'quasi-rape' tho and it bugs the fuck out of me.
ha yoon kyung with her hair down!!!! beautiful!
also min woo needs to GROW UP like the insecurity is so unattractive and ridiculous. he will never beat her and literally everyone has gotten over it but him. a woman and an autistic woman who doesn't even flex she's just creative BECAUSE of her disability and he's not. i just cannot connect that anger to any reliability of character or decision-making skills. it's so pathetic which is a shame cos he's hot<3
also their romance is cute OBVIOUSLY which makes me excited for the ep. in relation to the case especially but just to see them together. something about kang tae oh in those doc marten mary janes with the slight highwaters too...yup
gonna write some things i'm struggling with (it's one thing and it's all abt su-mi's choice or lack thereof and it's def not a popular opinion):
should be interesting but def agree with another commenter re: story adaptation. it's also so quintessentially american it seems unnecessary to deem it an adaptation. distinctly set during a very famous and very bad american war where slaves and allies/other abolitionists and people who probably didn't really care that much about slaves fought to free slaves (and other way less important stuff). she had to take a lot of abolitionist stuff out. i'm not totally sure about how she felt abt gender and marriage but it seems to be that in her real life it's very different from some of what she wrote because she needed to sell her books. her family was very poor.
that being said, it could def be interesting regardless but i don't really get why it couldn't have come from an original source. but the handmaiden is a fantastic film and very non-conformist and well-written so it should be interesting! mother too. i'm hoping and expecting (due to her other work) the end to sort of follow in greta gerwig's lead about having a diversion wrt the handling of women and marriage.
