I get all the comments but let me say I've been watching BLs since 2007. And this one is the first in at least 5 or more years that I've been delighted by how much secondhand embarrassment I get from their cute and cringe. Maybe it's because I'm older and they're my age. Definitely deserves a higher score.
Ngl but I liked it a lot more than people seem to do. It was a nice story with really nice actors. My main problem…
Yeah, I get why people don't like but I have struggled STRUGGLED to watch any Thai BL because every month the newest one has less and less effort put into the characters.
How I see it is, is the drama watchable if it's only those cute moments with no pacing and full of nonsense character interactions made for excitement vs just pacing and boring people in love? I do wish there were more scenes already but Idk maybe we'll get a season 2 or something. Probably not but maybe lol. I prefer the second type of drama every time. Like, I've watched plenty of straight dramas where they do these. I'm good lol.
I think 8 is too high for an average score but also--this drama gave me alot of context for other dramas. And I officially view Emperors in dramas differently just because of the one in this drama lol. Like Yanxi Palace version of the Emperor used to annoy me because of how he ignored things but WHEW seeing how sensitive and overdramatic the emperor is in this drama told me it's better to take them one by one instead of all at once.
Flashbacks most certainly are there to tell the story. Why else would they be there? If they are out of order…
I have watched One Room Angel. I don't believe it's worth a 7 rating but I understand not giving it an 8. Too many potholes and open ended questions with no answers. A few is fine but I'd say 75% of the show is that but what it is, is pretty nice. Far FAR better than Until We Meet Again tho.

Japanese BLs have a history of having violence, non-consent, and the "Tharntype-esque energy. They only started being "cute" maybe 3 or 4 years ago lol. It was rough for 10/15 years prior😬.
Man. Idk how to say this nicely but you guys have bad taste. Like--I've been trying to figure out why we keep getting trash BLs. Especially from Thailand. But, you know what, I get it now.
The fact that there are so many BLs, both new and old, that have 8s across the board but this has 7.5 is mind-bogglingly to me. I hope the fandom of BL learns to stop exclaiming when they offer a good story but only googly eyes are what you get as a reward. Or a lack of consent. Or the characters are barely in their early 20s--if we're lucky. *sigh* Maybe once everyone moves on from their seme uke mindset. Maybe then we'll actually get somewhere.

Yeah but that's also why most flashbacks are trash and waste time. If a flashback adds context to the scene and the reason why the character is acting they way they are, that is storytelling. The flashback by itself doesn't need to do more than give context. People are being so harsh with this drama but I bet love Why R U? and others like it(both iterations no less) up and down. They're legit all on the same level. At least I'm not bored with repetitive caricatures. It's just Korean drama tropes.
Is it even worth to watch? I come here because i saw there is season 2. But i remember i dropped this drama after…
Same I've tried 3 times because the costume design is gorgeous. I would argue at some points it's better than Yanxi and that's saying something. But all the budget must've gone to costume design and little towards the writing. It's soooooo bad it hurts. And part of me wonders if it's a racism thing. Dilraba is a good actress to me and she tends to get the worst sorts of writing even if it goes with a decent budget. It's like their only purpose is to just be a prop. More than the average Chinese drama actresses are treated.
It's also the same piece that XW plays in ep 20 to send off Yan Lin and his dad I think? Not sure if this is some…
It was in response to when Xue tried to catch her off guard not knowing that she was very, very good at playing. It was like an attack song against her probably.
It's explained in the drama. XW took the name of a rich and prominent clan which is the Xie. He's also smart and…
This is probably true but also he's the emperor. If he was a regular guy, it would make sense or even a crown prince limited to the palace but imagine he's seeing people live and die constantly like a rotating wheel. Or even his harem's relatives on top of officials he either does or does not like, local, provincial, regional, AND inner court. It's really not farfetched lol.
Watch Scent of time if you want Zhang Zhe to be the main ML
HAH. Why would you torture someone like that? That drama is not a romance lol. It's a tragedy and that's not a spoiler. Marketing should've been upfront about it.
I understand why it might be easier for an international audience but I really wish Iqiyi didn't localize all…
I think us veteran and experienced CDrama watchers can hear the difference just the same. You'd be surprised how many basic and common terms we start to recognize over time.
Idk why people think it's a good ending just because the romantic couple ends up together. That's not a happy ending. That's just an ending. If you think a happy ending is where literally nothing gets better--nothing, absolutely nothing--except she MIGHT be with the romantic lead in the end(and even then it's going to suck and be a tragedy even if they are together) then yes it's a happy ending.

I haven't seen one room angel. I'll try it out.

I would disagree.
