Yeah, I just fast-forwarded because I expect the miscarriage. I have yet to watch a harem drama where the protagonists' child lives OR that we get to see the mother raise the baby in the rare instances the birth goes well. Yanxi Palace is probably the closest we got and they stayed so far away from us getting to know her children that they might as well have not existed. I'm sure if it wasn't historically accurate as much as it was they probably would've done it too.

I mean, this drama isn't good but it reminds me of the old skool melodrama type cdramas. It's almost formulaically bad with a sprinkle of some modern-ness. I do enjoy that his father reprimanded him afterwards. I wish I saw it more often in other dramas.

Yeah, I'm good. I'm fine with disliking the ML. I've watched the King's Woman. He's giving similar vibes. The next 50 episodes could be about him sacrificing parts of his souls for terminally I'll orphans and I still won't like him. It's cool. At least I'm not married to him 😂😂.

I'm on episode 6 and I can't stand the ML. I'm rooting for the head brother but since the ML is a protagonist I already know what's up. Besides. What kind of bro wants to out his bro for having male concubines? That's wack. I know ML is probably bribing the hell out of his out allies just the same. Jerkoff.

Yeah, you would think after Yanxi Palace that people would learn how to write these kind of dramas going forward. It's not even like Yanxi Palace was the first but it was the first to apply it to a harem drama.

If haven't watched Story of Yanxi Palace, I've always felt it was the proper sequel to this series compared to Ruyi, which is a great drama but none of the characters make sense to how they were in Empresses in the Palace. In Yanxi, anytime the characters get referenced or even the aged Zhen Huan, they make sense to me.

Yeah, I forgot that I made this comment. I was wondering if it was that HK had a different general ethnicity to the rest of China or if it was like the equivalent of an indie genre. I think it's technically that Hong Kong is Cantonese. Alot of Cantonese folk/speakers live in America so I'm somewhat familiar with the difference(outside of language).

I mean, compared to the regular drama 😂😂. I'll need the drama that has even half as many over the top scenes. Not even my serious crime thrillers get out unscathed lol.

So confused by the rating because I've watched worse BLs that came out this year that I can't even get through the first episode of with higher ratings on here.

I really like this so far. It's a bit refreshing to be normal and just slightly over the top like a regular drama.

It's funny because I read the summary and then went, "What drama is this? I should watch it." The fact that I don't remember it AT ALL is killing me.

I mean, yeah, but you realize that what television is, right? It's literally just a potluck of tropes smashed together. The only thing that matters is if you feel your time was wasted and if it was entertaining. If it doesn't do those two things for you, then, yeah, you won't enjoy it no matter how many of the same tropes with the same kinds of characters are thrown at you.

I wish they tried harder to make the pacing of chemistry feel more natural, but we're in a desert and I'm asking for water 😂😂😂😂

Yeah, that's the spoiler. Luo Mingxi gets Princess Anning killed in cold blood on the battlefield while waiting for reinforcements because he thought ANLE of all people couldn't survive an ambush. And the Anning just waited and waited thinking SOMEONE ANYONE would show up. I'm still mad and it's been a whole day.

I'm upset because LMX didn't deserve redemption. This is LITERALLY no different than what happened with the Di Troops, except worse because LMX actually didn't do it on purpose. You know, if Luo did it on purpose, MAYBE I would understand. And Han Ye has such guilt that I would just nod and pretend it's okay that he got all those people killed because the Princess has also a thing with sacrifice. OKAY. I would hate it but would be fine with it.

LMX really, really pooched it. The fact that Anle, as a soldier and someone who lost all her troops and family due to betrayal, should be able to imagine even a TINY bit of what it means for what LMX did out of pure selfishness. Not even out of some kind of strategy or intelligence. Geez.

Han Ye tiptoeing to cater to Anle's reaction, who could've only been reacting out of sorrow and loss, is mindboggling to me. He directly caused the death of your sister. He didn't feel any guilt about diverting the troops. He knew that Han Ye would be there in time to help Anle.

I can't even imagine being the citizens under these people's actions. I can't see the difference between what LMX did and what Homelander does half the time in the Boys and you know what. That's not a good sign. But that's just my opinion and rant. I'm just going to finish the drama. Check it off my list. And tuck it far away in the back of my mind.

I'm done with Han Ye. Jesus Christ. This is actually unforgivable and I kinda hate Anle too because it's also her fault.

Just finished episode 34 and I want everyone in the whole main cast to die. I hate them. Yeah. Okay?

Let me just say--I went from being like 85% on Luo's side to like -10000% in a second. And this is probably one of the very rare instances where I'm going--"Sometimes, the main leads just aren't meant to be." I have no qualms now by episode 33 that they're just not going to be together. And I'm okay with that. I'm HAPPY with that. Geez.

I mean, the drama is about the Cao Wei kings. and the politics of it . Very little of it is related to inner palace/harem drama. There's a good bit about the relationship between Sima Yi and his wife but that's it. This drama might not be for you.

Ohhhh myyyy gooooooood. Esther Yu can play a baddie! WHY HAS SHE BEEN HOLDING BACK FROM US??? I want to send in some complaints to her management. We need more evil Esther Yu. Stat.
