Title Yumi's Cells Spoiler
I've never seen such awkwardly beautiful people mesh onscreen and make the scenes they are in together riveting.…
All the male leads are “real male leads” haha. Yumi is the only true lead. It’s like every relationship we had in the past are real lol But her last boyfriend casting is not announced yet lol

You can always trust a webtoon writer to create smarter characters LOL (seeing the tricks of bitchy characters + knowing how to deal with them like a champ lol)

I thought she is extremely different in both of her characters tho. The entire vibe and aura was so different. Saeyi is much softer “sweeter” smarter and way more calculated. I know she’s still that kind of “ex” but I do feel like she acts so differently lol I love her acting here! So nuanced and layered! Haha.

But yes wish to see her not being typed cast!

I think it may be too early to decide without watching how the story will unfold right? I think there are a really good amount of webtoon readers loved woong and yumi too but as the story develops they agreed Yumi’s end game character was perfect for her (and of coz there are always people who support each love interest too so maybe after watching all the episodes you will still be Woong’s supporter) :-)

It’s an amazing show but I think you do need to watch it from ep1 of S1 for you to make sense of Jinyoung’s character and plot later on. He is not a support role but in S1 he isn’t as important to Yumi’s life yet.

Title The Devil Judge Spoiler
People like to hate on Gaon's character so much so just wanted to put something in perspectives as well. Honestly,…
Gaon as a character he was planned to be a top in class, smart, and witted character. Whether or not the director and writer purposely weaken his skills in the execution (especially anything with Yohan in the play), his role is actually a very smart role.

Blaming Gaon on being "dumb" is like blaming the victim who has been gaslighted and scammed by a fatherly figure who he known for 13 years, his parent's friend, who pointed him to the right path (out from being a bad kid), a judge, and a carefully put together scam that took place for at least a few years. "Why are you so stupid to be scammed" Basically.

He was dragged into a fight he NEVER asked or cared for only because of his face. If anyone tells me one more time he "gets away with everything just because of his face" I am going to riot. What did he gain? A revenge that he never asked for? Gaon has already moved on without knowing the scammer actually still out there and it could very much be a secret that he doesn't need to know, just like how Elijah doesn't need to know she was the one who killed her parents. The burden of fighting injustice and the system that is stressful and will take his whole life to work on ALONE?

And what did he lose? The most important person/thing in his life, basically his world, dead. Honestly I doubt he could ever get married after Soohyun. The fatherly figure betrayed him, knowing him for almost 10 years and still decided to betray him. Even the new "family" he has, Yohan and Elijah left. He is left with no friends, no families, no lovers, not even money for god's sake lol Yohan left a huge mess after his revenge and Gaon suppose to just deal with it?

He fixed Yohan and Elijah's relationship and so now they can live happily together. Gave Elijah a white lie so both of them can be at peace. Without Gaon, Yohan will not be smiling after this whole revenge thing is done. He will be another K, emptied even after revenge is completed.

All this, ONLY because of his face. If he doesn't look like Isaac, how will his life be?
A bright future because he is top in class, doing his work and being the righteous him but it's still just a job, he will have a family to go home with, a simple, loving, happy little life with Soohyun.

That's inside of the show. He has lost so much without him ever asking for it, majority of the audience only hated him, think he's dumb and annoying, let alone people just want his role die :O) Some even hate on the actor himself. Right, as if without Gaon, Yohan would ever have a happy ending.

People like to hate on Gaon's character so much so just wanted to put something in perspectives as well. Honestly, this whole thing has been extremely unfair to Gaon, regardless inside of the show or outside of the show.

Putting it in comment so I can put a spoiler block.

Title The Devil Judge Spoiler
The ending with Yohan 'exiting the stage' and leaving things to Gaon is just depressing rather than hopeful because…
Gaon being incompetent... Let's see... Law School top student, excellent in analyzing cases and finding the core issue, excellent in LEGAL case studying and research, basically, what a judge should be? Of coz, the writer also weakened him a lot whenever Yohan is in the play, but he is nothing but incompetent as long as it's legal.
On The Devil Judge Aug 13, 2021
I don't know why it wasn't necessary to discuss the original intent lol? People talk about the writing and directing of a show all the time, what's the difference?

That behind messaging is always important, because that means if the final execution and delivery was successful or not. If that's the main core message of the show, and so many of the viewers don't see it, then what are we even seeing right now? The writer apparently wasn't trying to make everyone wanting to cheer for Yohan's methods only but that's what happening right now lol Even the writer himself came out to say the drama we are seeing right now wasn't what he had planned for LOL

Yohan in the drama right now is not devil, who doesn't know that? His methods were questionable but he is literally like an angel lol On the contrast, it makes so many of you hate on Gaon / Soohyun / other side characters. It's a shame because so many of these characters are such great source materials. A great drama creates compiling characterS, not just the main lead and main lead only. But oh well. I wish the original story can be translated :-/

Nothing like that is shown in drama 🎭 😂lol. writing something else, showing something else haha.
Mostly the director had to choose what will be commercial and easy to watch for all audiences lol But I would say I much prefer the original version.

"he also wants all viewers to be like gaon" lmao. Such a disaster wish 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
LOL I don't think people understand, Gaon as a character is the only character that ever question himself if what he is doing is right or wrong. Everyone is trying to achieve justice in their own ways, but they never look back at themselves, whether what they are doing is right or wrong.

In the show Gaon seems like be not "smart" but in the writer's original story, he is all of the ordinary people, who aren't heroes (I mean, admit it, there's no batman in real world with that much money and good heart and skills that are willing to go that far for justice), only if we are all like him, who evaluate ourselves and our actions, then we can actually make a change.

(This is what the writer wrote in his remarks basically).

It is clear from the first episode that Yo Han is the "devil" who does everything to his goals and everyone is…
On the show itself Yohan is literally like an angel lol But I don't think that helps show what the writer's intent. Gaon isn't supposed to be the one who solve the issues and seen as "stick to the book and can't actually make a change", the whole idea was (was - from the script only I am referring to) Gaon always evaluate and question himself. Yohan's methods, professor's methods, none of them are truly "justice". They are angry at the injustice but they never question if their own methods were right no not - that makes them scarier than the object that they are angry at. (These are literal words from the writer himself).

Of coz, the drama isn't able to show this part off well because they made Yohan's character a literal angel lol...

Posting here again so hopefully more people will see this haha.

Recently the original script book preview came out. It explained a lot more on what the writer's POVs.
I think originally Yohan and Gaon's character would be more equal. The pieces of the original script revealed a lot of details about both of their characters that made them make more sense.

For example:

- It was Yohan who blew up Gaon's house at ep5. Both Sunah and Yohan wanted to blow it up and Yohan did it one step faster. Gaon already left but Yohan wanted him to come back that's why he blew his house up.

- Gaon reviewed the past 3 years of Yohan's cases, and all the cases were sus. The witness will suddenly come out or suddenly the defendant would change and admit their own crimes. Etc. There were legit reasons to why Gaon was actually investigating.

Little details like these made Gaon's character way more logical (he didn't just stay at the house for nothing / he actually has a legit reason to be sus at Yohan / Yohan isn't the "glorified" version like what we see right now but actually as crazy as (or more) than Sunah, etc.)

From the original writer intent, Yohan really IS the devil lol He wanted to show people only if you look at your own action and question yourself if what you are doing is truly right and justice, then you won't become like Yohan/prof/foundation/public. Gaon is truly the "light" because writer sees him as US, ordinary people, who aren't heroes and CAN actually make a change in the system. He also wants all viewers to be like Gaon, always questioning, doubting, making mistakes, angry, but never lose compassion and good faith lol
