Wait till there are at least 20 episodes so you don’t suffer like the rest of us.

To me, slow-burn romance is when there’s no kissing or outright flirting or bickering between the leads, yet you can still feel the tension and attraction quietly brewing beneath the surface — through their eye movements, pauses, body language, deep breaths, subtle gulping, or even the silence lingering between conversations. It’s actually not easy to pull off this kind of romance because the actors need very strong chemistry and emotional control to make viewers feel something without explicitly showing it. But this drama definitely has it. Up to this point, the two leads haven’t even hugged each other even when the FL was mourning, no silly drunk scenes or piggyback rides, yet the tension is already palpable.

Agree. I couldn’t stand the legend of female general when the FL acts flirty to the ML when she is suppose to be disguised as a strong male warrior. Cringe. Gjz dont need to do that.

Agree. It’s burning us viewers in every way. And they are not even a pair yet, just best of friends for now.

What i love about how they portrayed the FL is how steady and poised she is. She is only 15 but never had to act cute or silly to get our ML and 2ML attention.

Very slow burn but every scene between our leads are intense. The eyes, the pauses, the ML’s abs… it’s like a simmering pot waiting to explode, very satisfying to watch.

I assume There will be a timeskip. Her mom will die and she can’t marry in next three years.

I am anticipating there will be a lot of character growth once she goes through major life changes. You will see.

True, plus Jin zhao is no pushover herself. She cannot be easily manipulated.

They are probably the die hard Winwin fans who can’t take people saying his character is annoying. So the ML needs some bashing too.

I also don’t see him as manipulative. I think the issue is that his character still hasn’t been fully fleshed out yet, so neither the viewers nor the FL have completely fallen for him at this point. The initial impression of him being cold and calculating is still lingering. Ideally, as their relationship develops, we’ll gradually see more of his softer and warmer side come through.

I also love that we are slowly seeing how their relationship is transitioning from transactional/business to now opening up

Our ever calm and controlled ML lost his coolness in ep 12, couldn’t even come up with a proper excuse to visit our FL.

Both Ml and Fl are good at creating that tension .

Yes. But what is more interesting to watch is how our always tensed FL is falling for him to the point of embroidering his cloak without her knowing she is falling for him.

I know i wasn’t impressed with pursuit of jade because zhang ling he is too pretty and perfect it got boring. 🤩 ci sha on the other hand is so intense to watch. He walking on the hallway is so powerful he can make the earth shake.
