Hahaha I know what you mean, i put it through papago and John jam was something like it's fun.
I was just chatting with a friend about this scene, and you bring a new perspective that I think is super helpful. If we see it as a dramatization of the story the friend is telling, then honestly this scene is perfect. I was seeing it as something truly real rather than dramatized for effect (honestly, there are other scenes, like shooting the eye of the tiger, that can be seen that way too) so your perspective helped me digest this visual much better - thank you!

Yeah there were mixed reactions on the qoo. They're not wrong, it's weird. Hopefully now that they're doing some redevelopment for the additional episode, they'll do some editing on those future parts. I'm hoping they spent more time on it during 8 just to lay the foundation, and going forward they tone it down. We saw it in the preview for 9, tho... π¬ It's OK, if that's the worst of it, we can live
Wow, I hope she feels better soon! And thank you Kim Kyung Nam for asking for too much money? π What a blessing…
I just saw the video the article quoted (I swear I have a job and life) and they said his agency asked for 50 million won per episode, this was last summer, coming out of TKEM.
I believe This is Junhoβs most succesful drama to date (and maybe Chief Kim/Good Manager?) Just Between Lovers…
Just Between Lovers got to Netflix at the right time! It was in the top 10 in Korea this week. Here's hoping it has a second life. They did a reissue of the DVD a few months ago, they probably should have waited π
"Rapid Development"? Hmmm...that's interesting. I'm assuming they mean numerous time jumps or some kind of condensed…
It sounded like they had the ending script prepared already at the start (again, robot article translations) and that's unusual for dramas that air while filming. I take it as they're going to restructure the script to fit the story into that one additional episode.
Junho confirmed back on Nov 10 that he was already filming scenes then as a king, not crown prince anymore, so they've been already working on the 2nd half for a while.

He's got a few main roles but nothing outstanding. He stood out on TKEM, but imo nothing to get excited about.
I can't believe he's pricier than Junho.....? Maybe the idol thing, they have a different price bracket for them? I think it was the exec producer that said they weren't sure Junho would accept, maybe bc they lowballed the rate. π€·ββοΈ

The article linked in the tweet mentions cost vs production (budget), and someone on the drama board on Naver confirmed the article translation. The female lead that was originally cast was Park Hye Soo, who I assume dropped out bc of the bullying scandal... So I assume the pricey one was Kim Kyung Nam. The article mentions the production was canceled at some point.
He goes from soulful to murderous in a hot second!
Did you see Chief Kim? He plays an anti-hero there, and was a bit of a lovesick puppy. But I'm with you, I want to see him get the girl, aggressively. Periodt.
