I am mid way but I want to know if the ending is worth it is proper happy ending?
The drama ending ends with them being together happily however it was stated the ML only have 10 years to live... so I personally dont see that as a happy ending looking at this in the long run(drama side of things)
I didnt read the novel so I didn't know. But now knowing, it made me bitter why they didn't include that info in the drama instead and made it hopeless for drama fans
It's a bitter sweet ending for me, I don't consider it a 'happy ending' in the long run with the fate that is decided for the ML in the story (right now, I am still bitter about that though).
I agree with you that the novel version is more straightforward. But some people watch a drama for pain and angst.…
Actually I don't mind the 'waiting' part when it comes to pairing, and they usually are done to the way I like it, but in this drama, I just felt it was so unnecessary, it just felt like it was put in to slap the fans on the face, and add onto the unnecessary angst.
I love the angst if it leads to a touching reunion, but this one just felt 'out of place'. The novel transitioned was smarter/better in this area, because it was Yunhe's clone that was sacrificed, not Yunhe, but even so, Chang Yi still felt the pain since it's her clone that looks like her, so when he went back home, and saw Yunhe waiting for him, he went up to hug her, that moment was really nice/sweet.
In the drama, it was just not my cup of tea, and they never actually explained how she got the Mermaid tail in the end, when she's supposedly be a nine-tail fox, like if you are going to change it, can you not explain it how she got the mermaid tail? So is she a fox or a mermaid now? The ending felt so surreal, I rather they show her come out of that place, hug and then jump to that scene at the end, and not suddenly cut and paste that make me go "????"
That ending where they have Yunhe go down that volcanic pit and Chang Yi sealed her inside with Shunde was really, really stupid... They really should have followed the novel instead, I like that part in the novel better... I mean, why do you have to add more pain for Chang Yi/this pairing, and have Chang Yi wait for her for all those long, endless nights?! Haven't Chang Yi (this pairing) suffered enough?!
The show is doing a great job wrapping up the loose ends and tying the story back to the novel...We do not get…
I actually love the underwater scene in the novel, so it was unfortunate they don't include that in the drama. I was especially looking forward to the part where Chang Yi tore one of the tentacle from the Octopus demon to have LuoLuo and this other guy(forgot his name) to cook it and eat it and then their reaction afterwards ππ
Okay, i cried in episode 40 ππππ Chang Yi!!!!!! ππππ at least they followed the novel for that part. Omg, I thought in the drama Lin Shu might have a happier ending, but I guess not with what's been revealed π
So in the novel did his hair becomes black again after cured or just stayed white?
