What's with that ending??? Is it happy end or sad end??? I cried from halfway through and after the sloppy and…
Su Mo, I like him but I hate him at the same time in the end, how can he be so cruel. I wanted to "!!!" when he could have choose for a better ending for himself, then wish for himself to become rain, and it was even said that he can't reincarnate again, so that is set that he can't be with Bai Ying anymore. I hate this ending so much, I can't rationalize with it because it makes no sense to me. I am just so disappointed 😭 Su Mo deserves a happy ending the most, but in the end, HE gave it all up for what?!?!?!? 😭

they really screwed the whole show in the last 8 episodes, what the hell
Definitely agree to this!

What kind of a sh!tty ending is that? I would have accepted a sad ending where Sumo died or a well deserved HEA…
Thank you for voicing out my feelings and disappointment!! This ending is complete/utter disappointment!

Truly depressed after watching the ending!! Like others have said, it’s not really a happy ending. Happy ending…
I don't know how people can see this as a happy ending? Because that felt more like an illusion/unreal... It would have been a happy ending if he is (like you said) hold onto her, and then say something at least... But this ending? Is just... 'wtf'....,

i loved this drama from the comments i maybe the only one but i must say what a meaningless ending i would of…
Him coming back makes no sense. I can't even find any rationality in this, which is sad, because I wanted a miracle he will come back, but it had to be believable! (which this ending lacked!)

Su Mo’s wish never came true. Sigh
He could have done it differently, but he just have to choose the tragic route. Which makes me hate the writers/script for this...

I stayed and wasn't disappointed at all with the ending because the entire drama was just so sloppily produced…
Su Mo is my favourite character in this drama, but I have to agree, that I even pick out the times when he lacks the expressions/and emotions, so.. NGL there...
On Mirror: A Tale of Twin Cities Feb 17, 2022
You know I was going to recommend this drama to my friend, and quite frankly, this story started off promising and good, I remember catching each episode as it comes out... But then..... somewhere down the road... I guess it was when after Bai Ying lost her memory... It started to go down the path that I don't enjoy...

It really honestly felt like to me that at that time, while Su Mo really loves Bai Ying (whole-heartedly), but he has also given up on her at the same time... He even said it, it's okay if she can't remember, how he feel about her doesn't change...

And NGL I rewinded their kiss scene at the bridge a couple of times, because that was a touching moment to me, and then... in the final episode, while I somewhat predicted it's going to be a SAD ending... but I still want to give it a benefit of the doubt... All was looking good... until Su Mo's hair turned white, and I am like WTF is going on...

He exhausted his powers, SO, does he have to die?! Even the Dragon god and Shi She(is that her name), asked him what's his wish, and when Su Mo said that, I'm like "!!!" Why?!?!?! Why can't he think about how Bai Ying would feel at the end of all this?! Why can't he be selfish for once!!! And just wish that there's a chance for him to get out of this so he can live together happily with her?!

I cried, I literally did when he goes to Bai Ying one last time (even if it's in her dreams or something)... And when they hugged... Okay... I knew it's not going to be a happy ending... And then we got that ending!

Which I want to question, did Su Mo really come back?! Is that really him?! Or was this all an illusion by Bai Ying?! I WANT to take this that he came back, but at the same time, there's no logic behind how he could come back, and that made me so annoyed/frustrated and sad!!

SO... in the end, all I can say is that I feel like I wasted 43 episodes of my time to have it come to this! I feel like this drama really had a lot of potential, and quite honestly, I only stuck to the end for Su Mo and Bai Ying since they're my favourite couple.... Yun Huan ending was laughable in the end, his character didn't righted himself for me (he was pretty much meh to me...).

I don't like this kind of ending, because I hate that feeling of being so surreal, I don't even know if Su Mo is back or not. I can't find any positive feels after watching this.... I really wanted to recommend this drama to my friend, but I don't even know how to tell him about the ending... I don't want to spoil it either..

P.S. I am not fond of Yanxi being the emperor at the end, at the expense of Su Mo's sacrifice when he(Yanxi) really didn't contribute anything to earned that role as the Emperor, so I HATE this. I already knew he will be the emperor, since I got spoiled on this video, but I still don't like it...

I am disappointed with this. It could be better. And sadly, I do agree that LYF is emotionless failed to portray the expressions at times; so ...... I don't know why either. Why oh why!!! T_T

P.S.S. And... if I am going to be honest... I think if Su Mo is gone... It would have been a satisfactory note, if Bai Ying joins him so at least they can be together, not separated like this....

I love Su Mo, but at the same time, I don't like why he is so cut off from giving himself a chance to be happy in the end... I hate that it was said that he won't have a chance to reincarnate because that's already set that he and Bai Ying can't be together anymore, which is why I don't understand that ending, as much as I want a miracle to happen....

This ending was really, unnecessarily cruel after all Su Mo sacrificed!!!!!

Terrible story plot, terrible acting, horrible cgi. Yes, I read the novel, and they make all characters weaker…
Honestly from what I got spoiled of the novel version of Su Mo, I actually love Su Mo (and the changes made to Su Mo) in the Drama when it comes to his love for Bai Ying. The whole "hate to love" trope is not appealing to me. So.... Each to their own preferences here.

I have to ask. From what I understand, as mermaids, they are genderless until they fall in love and then they…
Honestly, this is one of the things I don't like about the story, because it's promoting Heteronormativity. I feel sorry for the LGBT people who is watching this and I'm not even part of that community.

My philosophy is love is love, its not defined through gender. LGBT exists for a reason...

Can u some give me a spoiler 1. Love triangle how much ep do we need to bear? A love triangle for ML or FL?2.…
1. I agree with the others replies about Su Mo, Bai Ying and Zhen Lan so I will just touch on the other LT which the replies didn’t mention i.e. The LT between Chun Huang, Bai Wei and Lang Gan (in the past, 7000 years ago). Chun Huang (which is the previous Sea Emperor) was in love with Bai Wei, but his love was unrequited, he never had the intention to steal her away from Lang Gan, Chun Huang just silently loves her and wants her to be happy. For me, that's somewhat different to the Main LT since I don't like Lang Gan character (won't touch on that due to spoilers)

2. They both fell in love 100 years ago (in the past), but because of “events” that lead to the tragedy, Su Mo thought Bai Ying “died”, and all these years he was (in his own way) grieving over her “death”. In the past, he did love her that’s why he told her to go back to Bi Lu Hai with him. In the present Su Mo (ML) was always blunt and upfront with his feelings when they met again 100 years later; and for Bai Ying, she was not honest with her feelings when they met again, but through their journeys together and them working together, Bai Ying started to be more honest with her feelings. I say it is probably the part when Su Mo gave Bai Ying the necklace which protects her from the sun, because that is like a turning point where she started to accept her feelings for him(which she’s been hiding all this time). Again it’s up to one’s interpretations.

3. No

4. I would say the past (100 years ago), since thing didn’t end well between them.

5. FL sister, she was annoying at first. In the end, she redeemed herself for me personally.

Kindly note, my response is based on the drama, not the novel.

Umm, I have to say the English Subs for this drama is really not so great, because I find some errors in some of the episodes; and the latest episode 40,
Bai Ying said: "I forgot you" (should be "I had forgotten about you" )
Su Mo replied her with: "It's okay, even if you can't remember" (that part is fine), and then.... the subbed have it as "I won't change you", and I'm like "????" because that's not really what he said... I just felt like I need to point it out, because I feel like the context was lost if you see this translation on the site you're watching on.

A better translation, context wise on what he said in that part was "How I feel about you will not change".

So to put it in full: "It's okay even if you can't remember". "How I feel about you will not change".

Sometimes I wonder why the subs are like this, because if you can understand the language, it really makes you be like "?????" at it.

(Well, this is according to the site I watched it on).

Su Nuo alongside Yu Huan was a victim of Manipulation by the hand of Lord Zhi Zhe aka the First King of Kongsang.…
Yes I know. But doesn't necessarily mean I have to like them on my end. Personally they don't appeal to me...

Well after watching the latest episode (Su Nuo's death), I guess I don't hate him anymore, but I don't like him either...

Yu Huan just disappoints me... but if he can right himself and be a better character, then I might see him in a different light...

Omg, Su Mo, why are you so selfless... (Not that it is a bad thing...) But, this whole 'amnesia' plot is really not my cup of tea.

"As long as you live, it's more important than anything" - Su Mo.

Well, Bai Ying, good luck in triggering your memory the 'long way'..... Just a few more episodes to go....

P.S: I HATE Su Nuo!

They have to use this song from ALP, I always cry when I hear it, doesn't help when the scenes between SuBai is tragic too....

It is said that Yanxi will be the New Sea Emperor at the end, married to Nasheng with 2 child...Honestly, I dont…
Yes, I know how you feel, because I was also disappointed with this revelation on my end...

I dont like that Su Mo sacrificed so much for his people and in the end, it was handed to Yanxi like that, especially when Yanxi didn't do anything so far that is worth that position as the "emperor"....

I was hoping (and still are....) Su Mo and Bai Ying will have a happy ending...... even when in the novel Su Mo dies (and I hate that revelation)....

But nothing can be done until the ending is out. I too, hope theres more to that ending than what that video revealed...

I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed when I learned this revelation because I am...

Su Mo and Bai Ying deserves their happy ending.... Yanxi shouldn't be the emperor at the expense of Su Mo sacrifice. I dont like that...
