There are some dramas where after you watched it, you can't move on. For me, it's TMOPB, CQL and now ALP lol. But I don't think I have rewatched TMOPB and CQL as much as I did for ALP LOL.

The only thing that TMOPB beats ALP for me was I feel more satisfied with the ending in TMOPB than it was in ALP T__T

A friend of mines shared a fanfic in Douban that have an extended ending to ALP, and now I feel a bit better. Since that fanfic gave me what I wanted to see!! And honestly wish that was included in episode 50, just one more episode!!! to wrap things up!!! T__T

Oh wow! That's great to know!!! I am glad that Xu Kai's character 'Bai Jue' is getting the love and popularity that it deserves!! Because honestly, it is also through ALP that I've became a fan of him! <3

I totally can relate to this. One more episode to wrap up the story would have been nice!! T^T

I felt the same way, about Hei Jue, where when he wears black, it makes me feel sad because of the symbolic behind it, but at the same time, another part of me, finds him extra handsome in black lol. To me, whether he wears black, white, or any other colours, he looks handsome either way! Black just gives him the more mysterious, badass vibe (like he's hiding something, whether it's his plan from Hou Chi/Shang Gu, and how he's been silently enduring all this/hurt on his end). I still love him though. To me, I see Bai Jue's love for her is selfless, which makes me love him even more.

I am not satisfied with that ending to be honest. I wanted an extended moment between them, so I always feel inclined to rewatch the beginning again of their times back then in the God Realm just to get my Bai Jue and Shang Gu interaction from back then.

Honestly, I am having trouble withdrawing from this drama lol so I've been on a loop to watch again and again again lol

To be honest, at first when I first got into the drama, I was among those who wanted a prettier actress to be paired with Xu Kai and for the FL, but then, I kept an open mind about her, and I'm glad I did, because her acting convinced me she was meant for this role. She did take me a while to warm up to but, once I am convinced with Zhou Dong Yu acting, I felt like she was made for this role, and I also love her chemistry with Xu Kai as well, both of them made the characters, Bai Jue and Shang Gu, Qing Mu and Hou Chi loveable to me, and that made me glad to give her a benefit of the doubt, and after getting into the story, and with several rewatch, I came to find that Zhou Dong Yu has a natural beauty. Beauty does not have to be judged at face value, she have a natural beauty imo, which made her character convincing and made her fitted for her role as Shang Gu.

I wouldn't want another actress to replace her for Shang Gu if there's a season 2, and the same goes to Xu Kai, if there's a season 2, I hope both Xu Kai and Zhou Dong Yu can return to play Bai Jue and Shang Gu again.

I said mistreated as in, when he does something wrong, he get scolded. But when Xu Feng does something wrong i.e. taking someone else's fiance THAT is morally wrong when she is still engaged, but no one seems to be saying anything about that. People forgive Xu Feng for that, when he and Jin Mi did that behind Run Yu's back. When Jin Mi is still engaged to Run Yu, and when Run Yu was still mourning for his own mother's death, which oh, by the way was killed by Xu Feng's mother.... Did Xu Feng considered about Run Yu's feelings here, when he did all that? NO... Run Yu is written sympathetically, that makes me feel sorry for him. He is mistreated because the writers written him as a character to treat him poorly, and make him suffer from all these injustices, so this is why I personally hate the writers to AOL on my end. Having the emperor does not make him happy. If the writers cared for him at all, he would have Run Yu returned Kuang Lu's feelings (I think that's her name)... But NO, the writers have to express that Run Yu in the end, wasn't happy. I literally have to crack my own ending, that in the end, in the near future, Run Yu can return Kuang Lu's feelings and be happy with her, because him sitting on the throne being alone like that, with that kind of ending, is not a happy ending.. If they didn't show that, I would have seen that he is at least happy. But honestly, I have nothing but criticisms in the writing for AOL.

I love Run Yu as a character, but at the same time, I disagree with you about how he is not mistreated. Any fans of Run Yu would know that because of what happened in AOL, we are glad that there's 'And the Winner is Love' exists, because at least we can take that as an AU where Yunxi character can be treated better than the shit he was given in AOL. I love Run Yu, but at the same time, I hate how the writers make him suffered so much, not even in the end, he was happy.

I only replied because you replied to me about the mistreatment, for me I see it differently, but I don't want to get into this topic again, since this thread belongs to ALP, not AOL.

The whole reason why I don't like to talk about AOL, is because everytime it is brought up I am reminded how the writers just cruelly mistreated Run Yu. So yeah, we can stop with this AOL business, since this is about ALP anyways.

He never wanted the throne on his end, but I don't think we will be agreeing here. Ultimately, I felt sorry for Run Yu the most, because of how the writers have made him suffered so much in that story.

I wanted him to give up on Jin Mi because he will be happier that way, but I hated how the writers wrote that ending, because you clearly see that not even in the end, he was happy. This is why I can never like AOL, I blame the writers for everything. He just created the character (Run Yu) to mistreat him. I can never forgive the writers. I pity Run Yu, I think he deserves happiness too, but I HATE the writers for being unfair to Run Yu in the overall. They should have given his happy ending with Kuang Lu (that's the girls name I think), so he can be happy.. All I can do is just crack my own happy ending, well, who cares about AOL. In the end, I am just glad I got my 'And the Winner is Love' for an alternate happy ending for my favourite character, since I can't stand the main couple in AOL (Jin Mi is not even loveable, don't understand the appeals of her character on my end!)

You can literally blame the writers to AOL, since I hated how the story was written, I hated seeing two brothers who were once closed, fight over a woman, I wanted Run Yu to move on so he can find his happiness, because Jin Mi did NOT deserve his(Run Yu's) love and devotion.

Honestly, to me, the real victim that have been mistreated here in the entirety of the story is Run Yu, this is why I don't love the story to AOL. So many problematics, but in the end, just because Xu Feng and Jin Mi is the main leads, they get their happy ending.

I am honestly tired of seeing people referencing and comparing ALP to AOL, at first I just ignored it and scrolled past their comment, but this time I decided to speak up and state my honest opinions. With how the original person word their comment that way. With these comparison, I hope they stop, since not everyone is a fan to AOL here, and saying something like "ALP reminds them of AOL" is really an insult imo, since these two dramas, story, characters and romance have nothing in common at all, aside from the fact that it's both Xianxia genre. So I hope that people who is just lurking in the comment section not take it the wrong way, because ALP is NOT similar to AOL at all, ofcourse we each have our own preference in loving a drama, and that's fine, but not everyone feels and love it the same way as some others who does.

If you love both dramas, then that's good for you.

I wasn't the one who start off comparing ALP to AOL as you can see from the person who originally made this comment, and I don't like comparing ALP to AOL, because I see that as an insult to ALP, since I love ALP and dislike AOL.

If someone go and recommend ALP to me, and said it reminds them of AOL, then I will totally stay away from it, so FYI, I am one of them who don't like these comparisons, I've seen it a few times in here, where people compare it, not me though. So your comment should direct it to those people(you are replying to the wrong person here). I simply just sorta had enough of the comparison and decide to speak up this time on my end from my views/opinions between the two dramas.

You can like AOL, not my problem here, but to me, I don't and I do feel that AOL is overrated. ALP is heaps better in all aspects for me, but ofcourse I don't expect you to agree to this, so each to our preference here

Ep 41 happens to be the eps I have a hard time going back to watching each time, I feel so much emotions in that episode. I feel for Bai Jue, Hou Chi, Gu Jun so much in that episode. That episode just makes me hate Wu Huan, Jing Zhao, Mu Guang and Jing Yang even more LOL

For me, I love him in white too, he's handsome in all version in ALP to me, but I do agree the black makes him even hotter (lol).

Oh, that I definitely agree about Shang Gu was never dumb or clueless, compared to Jin Mi, Shang Gu is heaps better than her, one thing I love about Shang Gu is she's NOT naive, and she won't let others say to have her misunderstood the man she loves. She would prefer to hear it from him, or see it with her own eyes to believe it.

Shang Gu is so much more loveable in terms of her character, that as well, with how she treats everyone with respect, and she definitely has proven her worth to those haters. She also works hard, and to get stronger which she earned it through her hard work. Jin Mi? Well, this was all given to her, she didn't even need to work for it. I hated how her character (Jin Mi) was written personally. Another thing I hate how they showed me, while Jin Mi was hurt, Run Yu used his cultivation powers to heal her (putting his own life at risk), yet, she goes and give this all to Xu Feng (omg, I honestly have so much I hate about Jin Mi), but seriously AOL is really problematic to me, in terms of how Xu Feng and Jin Mi is written, while Jin Mi has matured in the end, but I am not a fan of a character written that way (in the overall).
