Despite my rants of the ending, I will just call it a 'happy unsatisfied ending' from now on, because it left me unsatisfied in my heart T^T

All the rants aside, I still love this drama a lot and will definitely rewatch it. The only reason I wanted an extended ending is because both Bai Jue and Shang Gu deserves it after all they've (and us) been through (T^T)

Ok, someone help me. Is there a website with the Chinese novel without all the garbage ads? I can't read cos the…
(1) True Gods have a very long life, but I think they do eventually die. Otherwise, I don't see why there will be a reference of 'life-span', like, it's been referenced a few times in the story, e.g. when Bai Jue have his spirit leave his body to accompany Shang Gu when she was training in the Netherlands, Hong Ri was saying in doing so, it greatly consumes great power, and will hurt his life-span. So if True Gods lives forever, then I don't see there's a need to reference 'life-span' here. I just think that they have a very long life, but they will eventually die. Too long of a life =/= to they won't die. If Shang Gu won't die, then Bai Jue won't risk his life to prevent her from dying, because her responsibility as a Chief God was to sacrifice every being of her, her body and soul to stop this catastrophe. This is why Bai Jue is teaching Yuan Qi the meaning and outlook of 'death', so that he knows. I don't really take it personally, I just see it more that he wanted to give him some positive outlook to this whole thing, like any parent would. When that time comes, it's just destined to happen, so that if / when he is gone, he don't want his son to be sad about it because of the things he said. Yes, it was Shang Gu's destiny to sacrifice herself, but because he loves her so much, he didn't want her to die (the same way she feels about him).

(2) About that, I will just point out about the bracelet part. I do strongly believe it was not in Bai Jue’s intention to return Shang Gu’s memories, because that’s the whole reason he have to endure so much to the point of having her cut him out so she won’t feel sad/upset when he’s gone. So my take on the part when Bai Jue gave the bracelet to Yuan Qi, was for him only, because he said to him “I’ll give you a present”, he didn’t tell him to give this to his mother (Shang Gu). So that bracelet was meant to be for Yuan Qi not Shang Gu, because it was what Shang Gu returned to him, and he knows Shang Gu is not going to take the bracelet again, so it was the last present that Bai Jue wanted to give to Yuan Qi, so that bracelet can act like a connection between him and his son which serves like protection charm for Yuan Qi one day if he needs it, the same way it was meant for Shang Gu/Hou Chi back then. This whole bracelet suddenly cracking (which lead to the the memories being returned to Shang Gu) is destiny wanting Shang Gu to remember her past and what Bai Jue have sacrificed for her. But this is how I see it, since Bai Jue was determined to not have Shang Gu know about her past so she can live on happily. In the end, it was something (that he did not intend to happen), just so happens so they can push forward for their happy ending...Just remember, Bai Jue, didn't endure all that to have Shang Gu cut him out of her life completely, and before he go to sacrificed himself, he even made it look like she's in her dream, to tell her to not think about him, or dream about him anymore, so he have no intention for Shang Gu to feel hurt/burden when he is gone. It's all about 'Destiny' again, the same way how he never intended for Qing Mu and Hou Chi to be together, but Destiny got them together. Anyways, that's how I see it.

Can anyone tell me is FL smart enough to tackle antagonist without help of ml?is it happy ending or open ending?
Yes, FL is smart and can tackle the antagonist without the help of ML. She's a strong female protagonist to me.

As for the ending, it's a happy unsatisfied ending, if you're asking me.

Bai Jue can be sweet to Shang Gu, as we have witnessed throughout the story. So I don't have a problem imagining that from Bai Jue, because Qing Mu IS Bai Jue to me.

Sorry, and thanks for correcting me, it's been a while since I've read the novel on my end, so don't remember word for word, but I have jumped to just searched it up again to clarify, yes, Bai Jue did said: "上古,我是白玦"!

[But I still remain to how I feel about this ending though]

What I like:- The battle against Wu Huan, how Bai Jue and Tian Qi to help Shang Gu fight against her, and I am…
I have to watch the episodes again when I am in a better state of mind, since I literally woke up at 4am to watch this due to the time difference. Honestly, I am still somewhat bitter and disappointed with how that ending played out. To me, it's 'a bit better' than the novel, since we got a hug, but I can't say it was satisfying. They have been through so much, waited so long, and this is what we got. I don't think I can ever be okay with this.... T^T

I still think Jing Zhao deserves to be punish more than just that because I hated her so much. She didn't even feel regret at all. She's just.... URGH.

Yuemi not coming back is just sad.... But in the overall, there's so many things I want to see to wrap up the story, so it really feel unfulfilled to me, sad really. I am sad Tian Qi couldn't end up with Yuemi, but at least he is like an uncle to Yuan Qi, and Bai Jue is back, so they can still be like 'Xiong-Di' like in the past.... It's just sad that we can only imagine this off-screen...

I can accept that punishment for Wu Huan, because she literally did suffer forever in that state. Death will be too easy for her.

I am just SO BITTER that, the bitch Jing Zhao did NOT even receive any punishment in the end, because like WTF, even Jing Yang changed for the better, but that bitch Jing Zhao, is still arrogant in the end, I hated how she cursed Shang Gu on her end 😠, I would have stripped her off her immortal status and let her suffer like Wu Huan too! So in the end, I just have to bitterly accept that her punishment is it hurts her to see Wu Huan in that state in the end...

We NEED a bonus ending!!!! OMG, can we get one like, MISS the Dragon, just a BONUS scene, to show their life afterwards when Bai Jue came back??? 😭😭 I can't, I just can't be left with this unfulfilled ending for them. They deserve SO MUCH better than to have it end like that.... You know, I would even be happy if I get an extended moment of seeing Yuan Qi, running up to his mother and father, and hugged his father, and Bai Jue held Yuan Qi in his arm, and Shang Gu smiling and expresses her happiness, that from this moment on their family life will be a happy one 😭😭But all we got was a HUG and then it zoomed out, just a HUG!! Okay, I know I said Bai Jue deserves a hug, and glad he got one from Shang Gu in the end, but, but... Come on!!! You can't just give us this kind of ending, like this.... It doesn't make up for all the suffering that they both been through, I wanted more, and was hoping for more, but in the end, I am just left with this😭😭

We NEED a season 2!!!! Or ONE more episode!!! I'm sorry Xu Kai and Zhou Dong Yu, but I have to say it, how is this ending a sweet/blissful ending?? I guess my definition/and how I feel about a sweet/blissful ending is different to them. Too many things I want to see but don't get to see 😭😭 I need a season 2. Why does it have to end in episode 49. And why does the episodes feels so short to me, for the remaining 3 episodes? 😭😭

My feelings about ep 47-49 AND the ending....
What I like:
- The battle against Wu Huan, how Bai Jue and Tian Qi to help Shang Gu fight against her, and I am so glad to see that Bai Jue actually faked his "death" to have Wu Huan put her guard down, that's my loveable Bai Jue for you!!! And the part when Bai Jue went to Tian Qi to revived him, was really nice, I really love their bromance moments <3 And that sad look Tian Qi gave Bai Jue when Bai Jue told him that, after Wu Huan is gone, he can finally go in peace/without worries. I love this subtle moment, to see how Tian Qi also cared for Bai Jue on his end <3 Oh and good to see Qing Mu again!!! (That part is somehow bittersweet to me)

- Thank you! For giving me the Father-Son moment between Bai Jue and Yuan Qi, because I really did cried. How it started off that Yuan Qi didn't want to even see Bai Jue, really hurted him (┬┬﹏┬┬), and then later they had that talk, and then when Bai Jue took Yuan Qi to the human realm, this time, as his real self, and not disguised as Feng Ran, those were all sweet moments that I wanted to see before the finale, and you can also see that Yuan Qi probably guessed that it was actually his father (Bai Jue) who took him to play a day in the human realm as "Feng Ran" back then. The part when Bai Jue lets Yuan Qi win the game, was sweet <3 And at the end, before they said good bye, how Bai Jue hoped to hear Yuan Qi to call him "Father" at least once, before he goes, was so sad omg (┬┬﹏┬┬) At first when Yuan Qi showed that he can't say it, and while Bai Jue was sad about it, but he didn't force him to call him father, and when he leaving, and then Yuan Qi called him "Father", I literally shed tears in that scene (┬┬﹏┬┬)(┬┬﹏┬┬), he didn't call him "Father" once but several times!!!

- Hong Ri came back!!! And I'm glad to have him back!!!

- It is implied Gu Jun will come back later as well, because Bai Jue saved a piece of his spiritual/soul, so he will come back later, although this is left off-screen.

- Jing Jian is reborn so he's also back, however without his memories, so that's a bit of a shame.

- Glad to see Zhi Yang is back, although I somehow have mix feelings about it, since the part when he's drunk at first, and Tian Qi is like looking through the documents, I am like, did they switch roles? LOL

- I don't like Jin Yang, but in the end, he somewhat redeemed himself for me, for what he said to his mother (Wu Huan). Like it needed to be said. I like how he said that he doesn't want the throne, he only wants to be his father(Mu Guang) son, and Jing Jian's brother. Wu Huan didn't even regret, not even in the end, so I felt like what Jin Yang said is a slap to her face!

What I don't like about the ending:
- I can't believe that bitch Wu Huan didn't die... I wanted her dead so much, and where is Jing Zhao's punishment?! And she even have the audacity to curse Shang Gu like that, what the f*ck!

- Mu Guang, I don't care if you sacrifice yourself for the peace in the end, but what you did, even at the end, how you begged Shang Gu to not kill Wu Huan, I was literally face palm at that scene.... Seriously, after all this you can forgive her?! Shang Gu even in her way scolded him, about how and what he's doing now have disappointed Yuemi and how well she treated him back then.

- Now, what I don't like is after all the hardships, heart-breaks that Bai Jue and Shang Gu went through, they have it end in THAT SCENE?! (┬┬﹏┬┬). I just can't really accept it... I mean, it is a happy ending, and I am thankful that that is a bit better than the novel, where they got a hug and Bai Jue smiled at her, not to mention Bai Jue deserves a hug at the end of all this but honestly, all I wanted was an EXTENDED scene after that part where they have their talk, and not just hugging each other. Ok, that is at least better than nothing, but still.... I wanted to see Tian Qi and Zhi Yang also say something to Bai Jue like welcoming him back. But at least the part where Bai Jue said "Shang Gu, I am Bai Jue" is heaps better than in the novel, where Bai Jue didn't smiled at her in that scene in the novel (not that I recall), then Shang Gu, in the novel, expresses her happiness, no hug, nothing, but just words to describe that in that moment, it is just perfect and, I am like "?????" in the novel, a feeling of unsatisfied, and lead me to question, that the novel ending, so does Bai Jue have his memories after he came back??? This is why in the Drama ending, it creates no confusion, Bai Jue is back, and with complete memories, because he smiled and said to her "Shang Gu, I am Bai Jue", and they got that hug, so it's a bit better than the novel, but this is not what I wanted to see, because I wanted something more. They separated for so long and we only got like 2 minutes (at most) for their reunion.... (┬┬﹏┬┬) You can't be serious right? I mean, thanks for giving me a happy ending, but I already knew it is a happy ending, still I cannot accept that THIS is how it ended!!! I was hoping to see more of a closure, of them talking, them having their sweet times, their bliss before it ended, but this kind of ending... While it is a happy ending but I am still somewhat disappointed... (┬┬﹏┬┬)

I guess hoping for a TMOPB ending is a bit too much to ask for......

hii, before the final 3 episodes tonight i wants to clear something, pls someone tell me, what does jing zhao…
Honestly, to me, I dont consider them as married, because their wedding was interrupted, and they never did the 3 bow to seal their marital status. Nor did they consummate their marriage.... In the eyes of everyone, it was a wedding that never got completed... Jing Zhao even said to Bai Jue that she was humiliated that day, so she hoped that Bai Jue treats her "nicely", and lets her stay with him, so to the eyes of everyone, she is seen as the closest to Bai Jue.... but this is all for 'show only', Bai Jue never cared for her, and he keeps her at a distance... he told her that as long as she behaves herself then she is allowed to stay by his side, basically in the same palace he lives in, but different room...She knows that Bai Jue never loves her because he already made this very clear with Jing Zhao...You can take Jing Zhao as his maid, because thats the best she will ever be to him...

Oh okay, when I said that, I didn't mean all people see it from Shang Gu's perspectives but in the overall I tend to get that impression.

For me I don't hate Shang Gu because I do love her. But I also love Bai Jue too and I feel sorry for what he's enduring right now, so it makes me sad to see some people who hates him for what he's done. Anyways, just want to say, I can never hate Bai Jue, which I elaborated from his perspective in that link of mines.

I will wait until I watch that scene in full to judge that ending. I already knew it's a happy ending before I saw that clip, but how that happy ending played out is determined if they will give us something more than that scene, because I want a more fulfilling/happy ending to show their family life, and interactions before the credit rolls, so I am keeping an open mind for now before I watch the ending.

bai jue took her memories as houchi and she doesn't remember her sacrifice for the tribulation
Bai Jue didn't took her memories as Hou Chi, Shang Gu was not supposed to remember Hou Chi when she wakes up. What Bai Jue took is the memories of her sacrifice for the tribulation of chaos, so she doesn't know about her responsibility and what that tribulation is about, and that includes the memories of their time together which shows Bai Jue's feelings for her in the end, before she sacrificed herself. So to Shang Gu, she didn't know about Bai Jue's feelings for her, to her it was just her one sided crush at that stage.

I'm emotional seeing qingmu crying when he disappeared. My guess was right, interesting qingmu and boxuan are…
I will spoil this for you, but then Riya already said it.

Qing Mu condition is the same as Hou Chi if you look at it, because Qing Mu is Bai Jue, and Hou Chi is Shang Gu, just without their memories of their past. Their love is an extension to Bai Jue and Shang Gu, just like what Gu Jun said in episode 33 "Your love with Hou Chi kind of makes up for their regret", because the short time they had as Qing Mu and Hou Chi is an extension to the love Bai Jue and Shang Gu want to have with each other, but they never got the chance to due to the tragedy that happen. If it didn't happen, and if they weren't tied to their responsibilities back then, they would have been able to get that kind of love. Remember how Shang Gu said, when she spent that one day with Bai Jue (before she sacrificed herself), Shang Gu asked Bai Jue why he is so sweet to her(the last day they both shared with each other), and Bai Jue said that it's not impossible, showing that if they have time, without the tragedy happening, Bai Jue can show that kind of love to Shang Gu back then. So, this is why when Bai Jue returns with complete memories, despite he is breaking off these emotional connection to those he cared about, he still cherish the time he (as Qing Mu) have with Hou Chi and why when Hou Chi asked him to divorce her, it hurted him so much and he was reluctant at first, but in the end, it just have to be, because he's determined to go through with his plan.
