Xu Kai is among my favourite actors now, so I definitely want to see more of his dramas in the future. His acting in ALP is very convincing indeed <3 Which makes me fell in love with him even more! <3

Yeah, Bai Jue was still on the recovering stage, remember he also hurted his soul/core when he secretly watch over / protect Shang Gu when she was doing her training in that....'Neverland place(I think is what it's called), so he haven't fully recovered yet, and then all that happened, the battle with Tian Qi when he rebelled (with his own reasons) and then later using up his spiritual powers to the point it also injures his core(in that process) to break the barrier that Shang Gu trapped him in so he doesn't go to where she is. And then all that happened afterwards, god, just give Bai Jue a break, he needs time to rest and recover too, but yeah, things just keeps happening one after another. It definitely explains why he's not in his full power when he had that battle with the demon lord, because if he was, then things will be different and not so much sacrifices in the end :(

When he came back in ep 38-39 he said that he is not back to full power yet, he only have 40% of his powers, so yeah.

Xu Kai portrayal of Bai Jue made me fell in love with him, the love in his eyes, is the best part, he's definitely a great actor, so I will definitely be following his future dramas when it airs! <3

I still have to say Xu Kai did an excellent job portraying and expressing all this though. I mean, I am not Bai Jue, but seeing it, and what he's going through, I feel his pain 😭😭😭

No problems, I felt like it's needed to be said (as a reminder), in here (as well as other places too from what I am seeing). I do feel for Shang Gu too, but for me, I feel for Bai Jue even more for all said.

That is true 😭😭😭Bai Jue actually had it more hard in the novel, because he was truly alone, Tian Qi didn't know about Bai Jue's plans until right before he sacrifice himself, so the fact it was changed in the drama for that is a blessing because it's more bearable. Afterall, seeing Bai Jue suffering alone like this, with no one to understand him is too much for me to take 😭😭😭 But I don't mind these type of angst, as long as it leads into a touching, happy ending though.

Bai Jue definitely did! But he suffers and not let her know that he is suffering silently, everytime I sees him getting hurt by Hou Chi or Shang Gu's words, it just makes me want to give him a hug 😭😭 this is why I am appreciative of the Bromance between Bai Jue and Tian Qi right now ❤ and why I miss Hong Ri so much and wish he's still alive!! 😭

I just want to clarify that when I made that comment, I wasn't trying to blame Shang Gu here, but more of saying it to those other people who blames Bai Jue, this and that, saying all these faults about Bai Jue, to tell them, before you do, take a moment to see it on Bai Jue's perspective too.

And you are right about there's no definite answer, because they both have to do what they did to protect the one the love.

What Shang Gu did is, she did set up a barrier to prevent him from going to where she is, however it still ultimately hurted Bai Jue in the end, because it was futile, and we saw how much he's willing to hurt himself to that extent to break the barrier and go to where Shang Gu is. And this...THIS! is the reason why Bai Jue is determined to never let Hou Chi know he's Qing Mu because if she knows of his plans, she will want to stop him the same way he wanted to back then, she will get hurt because of it. So to say "I'm not Qing Mu" is his way to keep her away from her getting hurt in the end, yes, she was hurt when he said that to her, but compared that to the end result, she wont be hurt as much. And I still feel the reason Bai Jue refused he was Qing Mu was to let her cherish the time she have with him(as Qing Mu) so its a happy moment she can look back to later on.

And yes, I agree with you on the last part, between the two, Bai Jue had it worst 😭 he did what he could, endure all that to be misunderstood. Shang Gu misunderstood him is understandable but viewers does too, when they are spoiled? That's just sad.

I don't mind sacrificial love, because the one sacrificing is showing me how much he/she loves that person,
but I am also not fond of tragic endings to a pairing either, so to me, they need to have a happy ending to make up for all the heart aches and pain that they've sacrificed and been through.

Also, when people only see it from a one side (Shang Gu's) perspective, and judged Bai Jue the way they are doing now is unfair imo because of all things pointed out in my initial comment. Since Shang Gu did the same too, so if those people can understand Shang Gu then why can't they take a moment to understand Bai Jue, he didn't endure all this for nothing afterall... She isn't the only one suffering, Bai Jue also did, back then and now.

I do love her, but between the two, I sympathise with Bai Jue more since he really did alot for her, so I can't ever understand the hate and people's criticisms on him when the paths hes taking now is clearly to save her, and the three realms the same way Shang Gu was determined to back then...

If people think Bai Jue caused her more suffering in the long run, then take a moment to look at why he's doing this now, enduring and suffering silently to have her misunderstood him, to ensure he have everything in order/placed before he sacrificed himself, so if anything it clearly shows Bai Jue cares for her to want her to live on happily without the burden or and suffering on her end.

What Shang Gu did back then STILL did hurt Bai Jue in the end, if you think Bai Jue is hurting her now by taking this paths, then she also hurt him back then too, if not more because he went through great extents to break the barrier which injured his core, and to also see her dying in front of him, even though she had good intentions to keep him out of it, but in the end, the result and fact is, he was still hurt because of her actions and decisions. So again, two sides to the coin here, Bai Jue understood the extent of pain for that, thats why he is determined to not let Houchi/Shang Gu know of his plans and went as far as being hated and enduring all this.

Yes, this is usually the case, but if you're thinking that Bai Jue doesn't consider Shang Gu's feelings here when he made that decision to sacrifice himself for Shang Gu so she can stay alive, and looking at the whole "the one left behind is usually the one who suffers the most" then, I will try to put this into perspective for you. 

(1) Back then, when Shang Gu decides to go through the tribulation of chaos by sacrificing herself, did she also considered how Bai Jue would feel at the end of all this? She did it anyway, despite Bai Jue told her not to, how do you think Bai Jue is feeling in that moment? I am not saying that she intended to hurt Bai Jue, but her decision ultimately did hurt Bai Jue back then. "The one who is left behind is usually the one who will have to suffer", back then Shang Gu did not think of the after result of the impact on Bai Jue when she was determined to sacrifice herself in the end for the safety of the three realms. So in the end, from her perspective she did it anyways knowing that Bai Jue will bear the pain of being the one to survive, and losing her. Try to backtrack to that part and how Bai Jue actually felt in that moment, before anyone goes and say "Bai Jue is cruel for doing this to Shang Gu......"

(2) At least for Bai Jue, he made sure and did all that he could, e.g. keeping things platonic when he was Bo Xuan with Hou Chi, telling her to not venture outside etc, he even, tells her that he will come back to her one day, to give her hope so she won't go out looking for him. Hou Chi and Qing Mu falling in love, was not supposed to happen, because of what happened Bai Jue had to be cold to her now (which is not what he wanted to), the reason he pushed her away(as we see now) is because he wanted her to stay out of the danger and he didn't want her to find out about what he's planning on his end, because he knows that if she found out she will stop him, ok, what I want to say is, in Bai Jue's case, he really did all he could, endure all the pain, to the point of being misunderstood by the one person (Shang Gu/Hou Chi) he loved whole heartedly and is doing this for, to the point that he didn't mind if she hates him, because to him, as long as she is alive at the end then that's what he wanted. No, he doesn't want her to suffer by being alive, that's why he went as far as to endure all the pain from having Shang Gu misunderstand him, to remove Shang Gu's memories so she doesn't have the memories of the time when they are together, so in Shang Gu's eyes, she only have the memories of the time when she doesn't know how Bai Jue felt for her, so to her it was just a one sided crush. She didn't know how Bai Jue felt for her because that part of her memories was removed from her. Bai Jue endures all this, and he did it for a reason, and justifiable too I might say. Before he goes and sacrifice himself, he told her to not think of him anymore, and to not dream of him anymore, he told her to take good care of herself, and that was his final good bye to her. He made sure that she is surrounded by the people who is like a family to her, those who care and love her, this was all before he sacrifice himself, so in the end, Bai Jue did what he could so that even if he's gone, Shang Gu can live on happily without ever knowing the truth. Because he cared, cared whether she's living happily or not after he's gone, thats also the reason why he endured so much to have her hate him and forget about him. To even have her said those hurtful words to him that she will never love him or hate him, they will be strangers and will never meet again....

So, really, try to see this from both sides here. In the end, Shang Gu will eventually find out the whole truth, but this is not Bai Jue's plan, because he didn't want her to find out if she is going to be sad and suffer from it.... otherwise he wouldn't have tried so hard to did all that he did to ensure she doesn't know... Why she found out the truth was not in his plan, it was 'Destiny' giving them a second chance for them to be happy, and since this is also considered a trial of their love, they will get their happy ending but honestly, in my opinion, between the two, and the whole "the one who is left behind is usually the one who hurts more", Shang Gu never go beyond and think that far, she only thought of accepting her responsibility and disregarding Bai Jue's feelings at the time, so it isn't only just on Bai Jue disregarding Shang Gu's feelings by not telling her the truth here, for Bai Jue's case, at least it serves a purpose where he endured all this just to make sure that Shang Gu forgets about him so she won't be burden or hurt when he's gone... really, try to understand that Bai Jue had it more hard in comparison, and he even waited longer for her than she on him (to even get that happiness)... 

Look, I love Shang Gu too, but if someone is going to use that "the one who lives is the one who suffers" on me, then this is honestly my answer to you. Don't always try to fault and blame everything on Bai Jue by just looking at Shang Gu's pov, she have made some questionable choices too which back then, when she was determined to be the sacrifice, she have also hurted Bai Jue and this needs to be reminded of if you go the "Bai Jue didn't consider her feelings" , "Bai Jue is cruel to leave her all alone in this world".... card on me...
