In terms of your feelings about TSL ending, I can understand, since I felt that way towards SOTM where I know they filmed that happy ending but didn't include it so I was so disappointed in SOTM ending.
As for MM ending for the epilogue, yeah that was filmed months after MM concluded, but personally for me, I am happy like this because the writers made it clear and gave us that hope they(side characters) will come back and reassured us in the epilogue so I am all good with it. It even said that both BS and FY is waiting for that day to come as well.
If they have everyone return by the ending than it felt like it is a forced and unrealistic happy ending just to cram it all in the last minute which will lose its charm in that sense that they did it for the sake of doing it.
This is how I feel towards Song of the Moon since I didn't like the 2nd ending to Song of the Moon because I felt like it is so forced and they just wasted one whole episode just to satisfy the fans for the side characters instead of following the novel in giving us a proper closure and writing that makes sense.
As for kissing scenes ARP and BL definitely have the best kiss in xianxia universe but I have also seen more intense kissing scenes in other dramas (like the short episode dramas hahaha) but for MM I am forever thankful that we got a good director in directing their scenes and gave us all these kiss in total I think someone counted is 10 because that is more than any other dramas I've seen in total of the kiss scenes for the main cp 💜

Yeah, I mean only just the ending to MM in episode 40 I was satisfied already. That ending had exceeded my expectations, If it just end at the scene when Fan Yue came back and them staring at each other at a distance(like how TLI has it), I would have been disappointed, but no, Fan Yue ran up to hug Bai Shuo and how he told her he's back 💘 I was like "hooray, at least it didn't have them stand at a distance... a hug is good!!" But we get some interactions between them talking with each other and how Bai Shuo told him how she felt during those times, and then how Fan Yue reassured her that he's really back and he won't be going with the wind anymore (I love how Bai Shuo express her fear in that scene, it showed us how she was traumatized and is afraid of the wind because she didn't want to go through that fear of losing him again, I don't blame her for feeling that way, it only made me love her and appreciate how she came to be afraid of the wind more since it shows me how much she loves him and doesn't want to lose Fan Yue again). I honestly was content here to be honest....
BUT, when he proceed to kissing her passionately like that 😳 when they have one last final passionate kiss like that 😍😍 It totally caught me off guard since I wasn't expecting we will be getting this, so I was totally happy and fangirling in that scene.
If that was their ending, I was already satisfied at the end of episode 40, but the fact that we had an epilogue to show their wedding together, it just added a more 'conclusive' feeling for them (in their ending)that I came to love even more so when it comes to MM ending, I am completely happy, satisfied for this conclusive ending!!
I still love how BS didn't want to miss the opportunity to tease FY when it is a pity that their friends couldnt attend their wedding, and when BS said that they can hold off their wedding until they return(which emphasize that detail that when the others return one day they will be their original self with their memories, otherwise both FY and BS wouldn't have hinted that on their side). So I love how BS teased FY about waiting and FY said he didn't want to wait anymore haha because it took them two lifetime finally to get their dream wedding, just makes me love the final interaction between them in MM and then we once again have another kiss between them that I love.

In MM, He didn't get resurrected in an 'instant', I mean, he didn't just died and then bam the next instant he came back like that(that's not coming back in an instant)... she waited dayys for him and without knowing that he would ever come back but she still waited, those long nights and hours and as BS have described it that she was at the point when she saw those "illusions" of him and when the strong wind came, he will disappear which had created that fear in her whenever she sees or feels the wind...
Sure, in ALP, Shang Gu waited longer for that to happened but this is why it left the viewers wanting more for their conclusion. At least for me, that's how I felt back then before watching the ending to TLI. I wanted Yuanqi to be at the scene at the end of ALP. I wanted that family reunion that you(who felt satisfied in ALP ending) will never understand. But like I said TLI ending made me appreciate ALP ending(the irony when I watched it back then, but I will always remember my initial feelings how I felt about the ALP ending as if I have watched it for the first time. Its just over the years I've came to have accepted that ending on my side here after watching TLI ending).
And I always felt how Fan Yue can come back at the end is similar to how Bai Jue can come back in that sense, it was Ancestral Gods(in ALP) and Tian Dao/Heaven(in MM) for rewarding the female lead for what happened, so both in its own way held some form of connection, at least for MM they actually put in that effort to explained it in that ending.
For the side characters in MM, I saw it as a hopeful ending for them and it made me appreciate that they explained and put this in MM because that is giving us hope that they will eventually come back one day and both BS and FY is waiting for that day to come(as shown in the epilogue)

A summary of how I feel towards the ending for the main pairing in the three related stories (in terms of drama adaptation side of things)

I think they didn't want to expand too much in the God Realm or touched on the other Gods as you can see in their past and just have this focus on the three Main Gods in MM.

If you want to, you can take it that perhaps the other Gods are reincarnated into one of those immortal sects or something.
I was watching the official MV OST for this drama last weekend at my friend's house and she made a comment about how MM have really nice visuals and CGI's in comparison to the others previous chinese dramas she's seen.
And you know what, I have to agree because MM have the best high quality visuals and CGI's among all the Xianxia drama's I've watched over the years!

ARP is the perfect version for Fan Yue / Jing Yuan so to me, I will always love his style in MM the best
They usually cut and paste the photo so it might not be like that during the actual film and this is all just a rumour about the casting at this stage.
For me, I rather they do a different style to ARP if he is going to be in that drama you shared....since it is easier to separate the characters from drama to drama.
I feel so stupid it literally has ALP as the parent story, I didn't even see it 😭

Just because the drama itself didn't reference the ALP character side of things it doesn't change that this was adapted from the novel (Bai Shuo Shang Shen) which is linked to ALP novel Shang Gu.
Every drama when adapted have these changes so in the end, it is up to you whether you accept or open to those changes done in the drama when compared to the novel. Personally for me these changes was done for the better in the most part in the drama

No she didn't want CZ to chase after her, because she made it clear to him afterwards that he should just walk his own path and that she cannot take his kindness(wish), which lead to CZ asked her 'then Fan Yue can?' And her reply to him was a face on rejection that it is because she is in love with Fan Yue so this makes him different.
BS letting CZ hugged her and didn't push back was because it was within her character because that side to her didn't want to be cruel to him in that moment when he hugged her because she was worried for him (someone she grew up with), just like how she explained to FY is the same as how FY care for CS and TH, but everytime, when it comes to her feelings, by the time in the fox arc, she had rejected CZ and she didn't hesitate to show and choose Fan Yue over him(CZ).
She literally told CZ that she didn't want him to go after her anymore and that he should just live his life his way. After that rejection, CZ stopped chasing after BS because she made it very clear when she rejected him and said all that.
Her drama version is better than any other Female lead I've seen where the other Female lead will always hesitates and didnt want to hurt the SML. At least Drama BS, she didn't hesitate to choose FY over CZ when she was forced to choose between the two by Fu Ling. She chose FY in that moment and some of us back then was surprised because we thought she will choose to protect CZ but she didn't choose CZ, this tells us she was clear with her feelings on who she loves and will always choose to protect (when it comes to between the two).
