All three novels is supposed to be connected, which have a drama adaptation of its own. Ancient Love Poetry is…
In MDL it tells you the related content and provides a summary of the drama details etc and if its adapted from a novel it also tells you that too so you have that info.
Many novel writers or Drama directors/screen writers(for drama)may be inspired when writing a story through other content and used their own creativity and imagination to write their own story so this could be how they writes their story
I didn't read the novel completely but I have seen ALP drama so I know before it airs this drama Moonlight Mystique is based on the story to Tianqi and Yuemi spinoff(with those changes which I saw it was for the better).
At the end, each viewers is different when liking something but it never cross my mind that the story is plagiarism, since it is quite unique to the other xianxia I've seen before
What i'm curious about, if anyone here knows is about Jing Yuan and the purple moon association, the same was…
All three novels is supposed to be connected, which have a drama adaptation of its own.
Ancient Love Poetry is the parent story and the first novel(Shang Gu) written and got adapted into a drama featuring True God Bai Jue and Chief God Shang Gu.
The Last Immortal being the second drama being adapted from the novel(Hidden God), featuring True God Yuanqi(son of Bai Jue and Shang Gu) and Feng Yin in its own spinoff.
Moonlight Mystique is the third drama being adapted from the novel(Bai Shuo Shang Shen) featuring True God Tianqi and High Goddess Yuemi in its spinoff story.
In terms of the connection between three novels, it is all written by the same author Xing Ling, so no it is definitely not plagiarism....... its just that the world setting is connected but the focus is on different characters as the main in their own spinoff story.
In terms of drama adaptation goes, The Last Immortal have some connection that ties back to Ancient Love Poetry in the drama verse even when they changed the name to the original characters of Shang Gu and Bai Jue being mentioned in the drama.
Moonlight Mystique has the least connection that ties back to Ancient Love Poetry so you can treat this as a standalone however in the drama to Moonlight Mystique, it does have some references to its novel(Bai Shuo Shang Shen) side of things as well. So it still follow some elements in the novel with some changes in the drama, but those changes is subjective how you see it as the viewer. For me, I saw those changes was done better for the most part.
Bear in mind that when it comes to drama adaptation, changes will always occur and it may never 100% stay true to the novel so its up to you whether you see the change is for the better or not. Like I said for me, I like the changes made in the drama side of things.
The name Jing Yuan, Fan Yue and Mumu are canon names in the novel for Tianqi, despite his real name(Tianqi) was not referenced in MM.
As for appearance wise, in the novel, it was described that Tianqi has purple eyes and purple hair, so MM Jing Yuan is more faithful to Tianqi's real appearance when compared to ALP Tianqi in terms of appearance. Purple Moon was also referenced in his own spinoff novel as well when he came to save little Bai Shuo and Bai Xi. I don't remember if ALP have the purple moon or not but if I recall correctly, I think it was referenced in ALP in the second arc where he was known as Jing Yuan in ALP which he lived in the demon realm. But ALP Tianqi doesn't have purple hair or purple eyes so....
In the end, not sure where you get the idea of plagiarism since at the end of the day it is all written by the same author and the characters and world is supposed to be connected. They are also all drama adaptations from the novel with some changes like other drama adaptations.
ARP (as BS): You really don't remember who I am? BL(as Mumu): *shakes head* ARP(as BS): My name is Bai Shuo, I am your lover BL(as Mumu): *happily nods* ARP: *blush* & *laughs* BL: Mumu is like this. BL: Mumu eats medicine *like this*
The way she is being serious that decide to beat him...He really provoking her so bad. π
Wait they are the same chinese zodiac?? π³ I didn't know that but that's amazing!!
He also said that in an interview once that at times when whatever she said he likes to say the opposite lolll, like I think he likes to have this playful banter with her during those situations. I love seeing their interactions offscreen too!! π₯°π₯°πππ«π«
The way she is being serious that decide to beat him...He really provoking her so bad. π
I felt like he likes to do that lol. I saw it a couple of times he did it purposely in a playful way and then it ends with BL wanted to hit him(in a playful way) lol, but these two can be so funny offscreen π₯°π₯°π
MM will always be my top 1. It even sullied Love of the Divine Tree. I had to put it on hold because I wasn't…
Love of the Divine Tree was also one of the drama I wanted to check out and I watched 1 episode at my friends house on the weekend and after watching it I got distracted and didn't know what was going on so yeah I also couldn't get into anything new on my end at the moment . Well good thing it ends this week let me know how the ending is like if its a happy ending or not
as a lover of fantasy and auto love for xianxia, MM is definitely one of the top just in terms of the story and…
You're welcome. Glad that you enjoyed MM immensely on your end.
There are times for me where I prefer novel better than the drama adaptation but for me overall I enjoyed MM drama over the novel and those changes made in the drama to me was done for the better so I have no complaints when it comes to how MM drama was handled.
Ohh the Moon π and the π, this is totally MM vibe for those who know the symbol, especially that hair accessory on him π«’π«’https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1XiCP5dcpb/
"May I be like the stars and you like the moon. As long as the world remains, so shall we"
as a lover of fantasy and auto love for xianxia, MM is definitely one of the top just in terms of the story and…
I haven't finish the novel(I am up to ch 56) and the novel is on hiatus, the drama MM did follow some references to the novel, but Fu Ling and Bai Xi is two different people.
The drama Jing Yuan is close to his appearance in the novel (when compared to the ALP Tian Qi in terms of appearance wise).
In the novel, Fan Yue is still the Demon King to the Bright Moon Palace (he's in his Demi God status in the novel), but Bai Shuo character is not the same as the drama. Personally for me, I love and prefer her character in the drama better than the novel. There's some parts to her character I don't quite enjoy in the novel. One part(and probably is the main one), Bai Shuo in the novel up to the stage I am reading, she still see herself engaged to CZ(which I didn't really like in the novel)...
Fan Yue did have the memory loss in the novel but in the novel she told Fan Yue that she is his master, unlike in the drama MM where she said she is her lover.
She still refers him as Mumu though.
Honestly the novel is okay. I love Tianqi/Fan Yue in the novel to MM though but unlike in the drama MM where I enjoyed the amnesia arc and Mumu, but in the novel they're dragging it and I honestly just want him to return to being Fan Yue with his memories(in the novel).
In the novel he still have the "Seven Stars Soul burning seal", but I am not up to the part in the novel if the reason is the same as the drama or not, since I am on and off with the novel(meaning I keep putting it on hold).
On my side, I personally enjoyed the changes in the drama better because I love how Bai Shuo have a clean cut and is cleared with who's side she's on in the drama, and her feelings, when compared to the novel because there are situations (at least where I am up to), I don't like what she is showing me in the novel.
I do however enjoyed the flashback to their past as Yuemi and Tianqi though.
There are pros and cons I guess, but I am not all that invested in the novel as I am with the drama. I mean, I enjoyed it on Novel Tian Qi/Fan Yue side but not so much on Novel Bai Shuo side..
But for me, I am a Drama Bai Shuo fan over Novel Bai Shuo fan, from what I've read in the novel so far. This is how I feel between the two from where I am up to(not up to date with the latest chapters yet since it is currently on hold).
I am reading the novel now but, keep putting that on hold and come back to watching the drama again. This is my 4th rewatch from the drama. Up to the fox arc again and I know what is about to come for the next arc.
Sometimes I wish I can just go through the journey again without knowing what is happening next, but even if I do, I still end up loving those scenes as if it was my first watch.
I miss FY and BS and JY and XY so much but to me, I made two thread topics in here about JY and XY to state my feelings, so I won't be going into this again.
I hope with more people joining in late and started watching this, they will also love and enjoy it just as much as we did back then when it was airing.
In my heart, this is a 10/10, I just wish that in MDL it is above 9+ because this drama imo is worth that high rating IMO
P.S. My favourite colour is always Blue and Purple but after watching MM, my love and appreciation for Purple is to a whole new level π
I miss them tooπ₯ΊRewatching them Again yesterday for 6th timesWhat have they done to me???
What makes the intro loveable is I love the quotes being used as part of the intro song!! My fav quotes was the one from BS (May I be like the stars and you be like the moon part) and JY quote 'I only want to be with the one I love forever' in the intro song. Those two quotes is so romantic and is one of my favourite quotes. And i have a lot of fav quotes in this drama! FY and BS as well as JY and XY quotes is all so romantic to me! ππ
Well as long you get it now, I have nothing more to say.

Ditto for the last past and hope it will always be like that too! ππ«
