Horrors against horrors - what if they replaced Yuan Lang with Crown Prince as villain with same actor who is playing the exact hateful character of Yuan Lang... We would still hate it.

Characters we hate aside, I think both male and female lead played their part well. I have not watched any of their previous dramas before this and will start looking out for them especially if male lead is using his own voice.
I especially like the way the female lead's character is written and I'd like my own daughter to be as strong and independent too. Personally, I rated dramas which are on my re-watch list a 9 and usually don't re-watch those I rated lower than that.

I dislike the way it ended too but somehow reading your comments manage to make it better. So, I'll be rating it 9 instead of an 8 (from an original 10 if it had a real happy ending).

Plus LY have faithful friend and women who love and are willing to die for him while YL has none.

Thanks for the spoiler. I stopped watching the movie halfway cos I like both main leads but expected that both would not survive so came here to find spoilers before deciding whether to continue.
Dropping it now to save myself from grief.

Those were my first thoughts of her which echoes those of the male lead. But as the story progresses and we see her true character and her motivation for taking certain actions, my annoyance turned to admiration and love. I guess most who watched felt the same hence, were defensive when others criticise her.
FL’s character is one I wish I could be if I were to live as a woman in that era. She isn’t those self-sacrificing goody two shoes but while looking out for own interest (since even her birth parents doesn’t really care) she draws the line at sacrificing another person’s life just to get her way.

I think his pregnant wife committed suicide when the money she invested in the shady fund sold by male lead and his bank collapsed. All the investors hired lawyer to sue the bank but lost the case.

My thoughts as well. Too many loopholes to ignore.

Yeah... I've yet to watch but reading the spoilers here I can say that I hated that she chose to leave but from the way her character is written, it seems like what she'd do.
I admire her personality and the courage she has in standing up for what she believes in yet not harming any lives (unlike her good sis QM's definition of strong and independent without caring if others end up as casualty).

This is what i guess would happen too and also why I feel they may not have done the deed. QY may give the impression that she's a 'loose' woman to others (willingly being a courtesan, seducing/sweet talking to get clues or to get away of tough situations etc...) but her character is the most genuine out of all her siblings and doubt she'd give away her chastity if not properly wed. Even when she was in a desperate situation in the beginning to seduce QX into confessing his love to her, she did not resort to shameful behaviour.

I normally avoid dramas which have yet to complete airing but started watching without knowing, got hooked and now hate the waiting to know if it's a HE.

I'm putting off watching until the last episodes are out but have a bad feeling that it may end with QX and QM dead - QY will be bringing up their child just like how QM's birth mom took her in when she was young.
Hoping what I expect will not happen and the little boy is really QY & LY's child.

This is my fear too - that he's going to get offed, probably while trying to save either ML/FL/2FL cos most 2ML in dramas will either turn into a villain or die.
QX is such a sweet guy. Right from the start when he first met QY he has realised that she's a treasure and remained loyal to her throughout while LY was so distrustful of QY. QX would've felt betrayed by his good friend who has been bitching about and warning him off the girl he loves while going after the same girl.
Then to be betrayed/scammed/'raped' by QM killing off any chance he had with QY.
Really tragic...

Same here. Loved him as young Choi Dal-Po. Too bad he doesn't get much main roles.

Same thoughts here. I've watched the movie Split about someone with DID and 23 alter egos and all characters played by same actor.
So this drama seems more like LDW being followed by a ghost/spirit.
Nevertheless, I did enjoy the drama and undecided on whether the bromance of GY & LDW pairing was better or on par.
