People are complaining about the ending, but I'm kind of confused as to why? It seemed perfectly clear to me. Karl isn't ready, Vlad won't settle, time passed, they have moved on but are still open to being friends and maybe re-kindling their relationship in the future. What's confusing about that? It's not a happily ever after but it's real. (like, really real, not like someone dies in a car crash like some other shows I could name cough* MODC*cough).
I loved it. I would enjoy a season 2 but if not, we already saw what their life could be like. I like it when things end in their time and this feels like an ending.
It thought the whole show was beautiful. I see some folks disagree, and your opinion is worthwhile, too. But for me, this is exactly the kind of show I want, with real characters, real relationships, a little silliness because I am silly, great music, love, tears, and something meaningful in the end. For me, the message that love isn't always enough, but that love endures is powerful. They will always love each other and maybe someday the stars will align and they will build a life together. Or maybe they will stay friends and find other loves and always look back on the time they spent together and feel those feelings again for a moment and smile and cry a little. They have good friends, family who love them, skills, goals, careers to look forward to.
I want to see queer people like this, who can love, and fail, and move on, and be whole. That means so much more to me than shows where all that matters is that one guy kisses you in the end.
I hope Plan isn't that bad of a kisser in real life. It looked like Mean was actually trying in this last episode but Plan still reminds me of a baby bird begging for some half-digested food vomit from his mama bird. I have been kissed like that before and it's not cute.
I’m only watching this for bas cause I feel like he’s story is more interesting
Dumped by P'Pha!!! So sad! haha, I'm living for it. I like Wayu much better than Wayo. Bas is a much better actor now than he was a couple of years ago and this show is much better produced than 2Moons.
And the Pink Milk has returned. Pretty okay start. It's SUPER corny. Wayu's little brother is hilarious. If you…
I agree about Mark. He reminds me of this guy I used to hook up with in college, who just started showing up at my place, expecting to hook up (no call, no text). Super irritating. Just cause you like someone, stalking is not okay. Mark is lucky he doesn't get punched. He's cute but not that cute. Like, back off, dude.
I actually thought this first episode was pretty good! Aside from the fact there are certain...suspicious similarities, I will say ;-), I was expecting another dumpster fire like Hotel Stars. But this was decent. Basic, but decent.
I thought it was great! Gulf and Mew still have great chemistry, it's not set in college, and they are arguing about normal grown up things. The random side characters thing is, I guess, normal for Mame's stories, but still weird, but oh well, I'm used to it by now. Looking forward to the next episode!
i suggest you do some research or read the youtube comments after watching every episode.
No? Why would the fact that you had to do research to understand something mean that the show didn't deliver? That's like saying a piece of media has to assume its fans know nothing. Some people have a broader experience, are more well-read, etc.. than others. Just because you didn't get it or understand it doesn't mean it didn't deliver. Media can be complex and require thought, reflection, and yes, research. That is how you learn: something you love has elements beyond your experience and you look for more knowledge because you want to understand the thing you love. It sounds like you want media to be dumbed down so people don't have to work to understand. The work makes the understanding, when it comes, sweeter. Push yourself to grow and learn, don't expect that everything will always be easily within your reach, not even BLs.
Just remembered some Rupaul's Drag Race references then I remembered how Paolo (Karl) is actually a big RPDR fan…
Yes, I saw the reactor's interview and they asked Paolo and Ian if they shipped their characters and Paolo was like: "From the beginning. When I first saw Ian, I was shook because he was cute! But, as Shangela would say, I'm a professional haleloo!" Best response ever!
I thought the ending had some really sweet moments and also some really cringey moments. I do think Judah was kind of annoying during the middle of this. Also, he's like 20, and he's all like, "I need you to love me!!!" Like, hasn't he heard of dating??? Anyway, I don't think the ending of this show lived up to the promise of the beginning. It started out great and ended up kind of mediocre. In terms of all the other BLs out there, I would say it's probably in the top 25%, but a long way down from the best (gameboys, gaya sa pelikula).
