I love how SBS aired its more intense dramas like Taxi Driver & Penthouse in the first half of 2021 (Joseon Exorcist too if it wasn’t cancelled). And now it’s transitioning with Racket Boys into a more cosy melo-based second half! Oh and sprinkle in an A* star cast with the odd police thriller too- looking forward to it!

This is one of the most bizarre watching experiences I've ever had! I don't really like this, but I couldn't say I really dislike this series either. I just feel 'mehr' and frustrated/ sad I feel like I've been led on lol.

I feel like it got lost in a sea of pretentious analogies, when it could've done more to put more care into the characters and ultimately us- the viewers.

Honestly I feel like it tried too hard to be different but the result ended up being so poor. I like a bit of deep stuff every now and then, but not everything has to be deep to be good.

Question : Do I need to watch other seasons to watch this one? Is it in continuation to S3?
I reckon you could pick it up- there’s a quick S3 recap at the start of S4 so you get the gist what happened in the previous season. Each season typically works with several cases and one big baddie- it’s not a continuation in that sense.

You might miss on some background info on the FL & GT team so I’d recommend you’d watch S1 & S2. If you’re not too fussed and happy to watch the previous seasons another day after S4- it’s your choice!

Honestly I enjoyed watching this quick series- it wasn't 'laugh til I cry' hilarious but it was fine. I wish the series was a little longer to give the green actors more time to get into their roles. I think there was chemistry as a group together and I wouldn't have minded a few more stories to flesh their characters out more!

This isn't groundbreaking but a much needed silly break after a long line of intense thriller dramas for me!

In regards to the oddly endearing humour, the show is written and directed by the team behind the early 2000s sitcom series 'Nonstop'. It spanned several seasons and are about college students (funnily enough).

If you look at the cast, many of them are doing pretty damn well for themselves like Hyun Bin, Go Soo and Jang Na Ra to name a few!

This is hilarious fun- loving it!

And it’s refreshing for once that the ML in a fantasy drama isn’t some brooding-mysterious ancient creature, who’s dramatically burdened by a heavy and traumatic past until they meet an aegyo optimistic FL lol.

Loving the comedic effects the leads’ personalities create!

I love this article and it's so relatable! Thank you for giving this a go and writing about it. I liked the idea of a random generator!

I used to be more of a serial 'holder' of dramas, where if I start one and I'm not feeling it within the 4 episode window,I leave to re-visit another day. I've found hidden gems by giving dramas another chance when I wasn't quite feeling it one time in the past!

However, I found that a lot of them became 'background dramas' that I end up watching whilst doing something else. I convinced myself that a lot of them had plots that could be picked up without intense focus, but I've realised the flaw in my half-watching habits- as my investment in the show dwindles, so does the potential of my enjoyment (or the opposite lol).

Although I try not to drop any dramas, I've refined my technique the last few months. If I'm really not enjoying it, there's no hope where I'll enjoy it or I find myself pushing myself to endure, I drop it! I want to have an enjoyable experience and there are still so many gems to find and series I've yet to watch too. The amount I've dropped is still a fraction of your list haha.

I do have a question for you- lately I've found myself in drama ruts where it's hard to choose what drama I want to watch as I have no idea what I'm 'feeling'. How do you pick what you want to watch? Have you experienced times where you flick from one to the other before you stick to one?

What an amazing post celebrating the gem that is Run On! It became one of my unexpected fave series too. The visuals, the charmingly detailed dialogue and a great cast made me miss it when it was over.
