i think this is an overall entertaining series, especially if you're looking for an action/ sci-fi mystery type…
if you're looking for other series that deal with time travel, try 'times', 'train' & 'god's gift', but they are more crime/ mystery oriented.

if you're looking for other series that deal with what it means to be human/ dystopian ideals about humanity etc, 'how to be human too', 'luca' and 'awaken' falls under that.

i think this is an overall entertaining series, especially if you're looking for an action/ sci-fi mystery type drama. honestly i've not come across one that was perfect or didn't have any weird illogical inconsistencies.

also i think dramas in the 'sci-fi' genre are slowly improving each time one is aired. each one improves a little bit in its storytelling or bringing in big ideas (like time travel) or how it's directed.

Is there a romance in this drama?
the love portrayed here is more 'mature' and grounded than most of what you might typically see in dramas/ the rom-com genre

thank you for writing this article! birthcare centre is one of my favourite underrated gems. it's short and sweet, where the cast is fantastic. it's also rare to see any tv series like this tackle social issues that women/ mothers can face.

behind the entertaining black-comedy and typical drama scenes, there was depth in exploring the themes surrounding motherhood/ parenting/ families. 100% recommend this and especially great if you want a short series that's half the time of a full 16 episode drama!

Like choi ran’s past works (black & God’s gift), it’s rewarding to watch it to the end. She loves sprinkling clues and getting you to piece it together as we journey towards the climax of the story. Things that don’t make sense early are likely to be revealed or make sense later on. And most of the twists or turns have an emotional anchor. Regardless of the issues people may have, I admire how overall I have an enjoyable time theorising whilst watching the series.

If this follows the same vein as the fiery priest, there’s a mega showdown in store and an A+ comedic ending. However, this has been more brutal, bloody and tragic than TFP so it might capitalise more on the revenge element.

What if DL originally planned to make YH the dark hero but unfortunately he got caught and died? That might be…
i'm so suspicious of DL too! the way he randomly popped back and has the ability to ensure a crime scene can be covered up so well (i know we can argue the police aren't the smartest but conveniently they could pass it off as ba reum's post brain surgery incident)

we're led to think YH is seo jun's son, but anytime YH is talking to SJ or his mum, he never says 'i am a murdered' or 'i did this'. same with SJ who asks him to find out how his son grew up. it's purposely done but also is history meant to repeat like that with hong joo keeping YH's son? too much of a coincidence going on.

i think DL has much murkier intentions that's wrapped up in scientific purposes- he's using ba reum as a lab rat experiment, which doesn't sit right with me tbh

also i saw one comment about how his aunt is not his real one and she's making him live a fake life in order to…
yeah i don't trust his aunt! i found it odd how in the initial meeting, the cousin doesn't quite respond immediately towards ba reum, despite the aunt saying he practically 'raised' him on his back. i know he warmed up to him later on but he's got cats lol.

she doesn't tell him about the bird/ diverts the conversation later on with ba reum and it looks like she lives at a completely different place! she knows the 'truth' about ba reum, whether it's about the brain surgery or who knows some weird baby switcheroo might happened in the past.

What do we think about Daniel Lee suggesting Bareum to kill the criminals? I'm not sure how I feel about it. Where…
i have mixed feelings about it! first i was suspicious how he randomly popped back up again although i suspected daniel hadn't died yet. i get he has a strong psychology background in criminals and psychopaths, but i'm uncomfortable seeing his ability in 'cleaning' up the crime scene so well. that and how he 'faked' his death' (or what we are led to believe so far. even with the help of the lousy policeman who conveniently decided to not let mu chi out of jail!

i'm also suspicious how he's already got ba reum under his wing to kill psychopaths. seeing how he's 'hiding' in an underground lab makes me suspect he's using ba reum as a 'lab rat', which echoes the title 'mouse'. if there's one thing i've learned from watching choi ran's dramas and this one in particular, nothing is ever as it seems. every little detail is a clue. i have strong suspicious that even yo han was 'experimented' on.

from the flashbacks, it looks like daniel and seo jun once were 'united' in their research but separated from differences in ideology. we're led to believe that seo jun is the absolute murderous bad guy vs. gentler daniel who's contrasting as the good guy/ not psychopathic in comparison. what if daniel plays a bigger and much more menacing part in this?

in a long-winded tangent back to your question, i think daniel has murkier intentions than we are seeing. is he morally better than seo jun who killed people for his brain experiments? is it okay for us to accept ba reum as an 'anti hero' because we want to see criminals punished? does it mean that justice sometimes means by acts of violence and crime? what if we kill the wrong person? for example when won jae pil was killed, when in fact was covering up for his son.

there are also several layers to this. we've seen the justice system fail (bong yi's case where the rapist is allowed back into society and effectively commit crimes again). we've seen mu chi where despite his earnest efforts to truly catch criminals, he has a revenge plot going on. although it's worth noting that it looks like he can restrain himself from aggression vs. current state of ba reum. it ultimately links in to the overarching question of nature vs. nature. having psychopathic genes, does it truly make us psychopaths? or can our upbringing and environment have a bigger effect?

if ba reum could overcome killing by himself, it would prove that genetics doesn't always determine who you become or the choices you make. but if he can't, how much can we say he choose to kill or his genes played a part in it? honestly it bugs me so much how daniel has 'groomed' ba reum and i wonder how the last half will play out! i'm sure there are more twists to come.

I took ep 16 as the successful time loop where they managed to stop the war, where with no Sigma and uploader…
Would love to hear your thoughts/ interpretations of the ending too!

Title Sisyphus: The Myth Spoiler
Okay so I think the ending can be interpreted in different ways and here’s my take below:
I took ep 16 as the successful time loop where they managed to stop the war, where with no Sigma and uploader there is no dystopian future. Therefore all humans who came from the 2035 future disappears.

When we see the plane scene, this is when it comes full circle to the opening scene. Either when Seo Hae disappeared, she could magically move her particles back in time. Like back in ep 11 when Tae Sul found his brother hiding in the past. So it could be seen as a lukewarm ‘happy’ ending where they are reunited.

Or you could interpret that’s the start of a ‘new time loop’ if you interpret it with Sigma’s ending scene. He has notes and looks menacing as ever! Perhaps in this time loop the war starts later and Sigma still needs to go back in time to be Quantum & Time’s invester.

The darker take is that the villains will always win. Or a ‘new’ villain will pop up like Eddy Kim. Perhaps it means our heroes will always find themselves in infinite time loops with different things changing or happening each time. So there are a lot of different possibilities which we won’t see on screen!

I was thinking the same. But when he said he was back to see a friend, he meant JDT because he said "Mr. Baek"…
If he wanted to get back with SSR, then he’d want Logan out of the picture. It’ll be a twist if he was actually planning with JDT all along but then JDT betrayed him!
