What happened to the arrangement of cast? Is the story not centered to Lee Min Ho and Kim Min Ha anymore? It looks…
It's mainly Sun Ja's story, which is actually very multi-generational, so all the listed main cast members play a key part in the story. Hope this makes sense as I didn't want to spoil too much!
This is one of my favourite books and I am loving the series so far! I was worried how'd they pack several generations' worth of stories in.
However based on the first 3 episodes, I really like the direction! The cinematography is lush, the acting is A+ and maaaan this is punching me in the feels again.
I really suggest watching the whole series (or reading the book too!) because it's super impactful and nuanced once you get through the story from start to finish!
Why do I feel the Writer is doing more justice to the female characters than the male's?. Like, we were able to…
I feel like for Yijin, he went through a lot at the start of the series when his family is torn apart by the IMF crisis. Once in a place of comfort, he had to work endless part time jobs and then lots of big companies would reject him because he never finished uni. So when the news station is still willing to take on high school graduates, Yijin finally succeeds in getting a job!
It's not his original dream to work for NASA and for the sake of his family, Yijin becomes a reporter. Yu Rim sees herself in Yijin - they both prioritise supporting their families and that's why she speaks to him first about Russia. Even though Yijin was there to ask, we also see the emotional conflict he goes through. It's a tough choice!
I hope we can see Yijin and his family reunite, although I'm not sure if they will still be affected years later!
This is a well-made and very entertaining rom-com. The cheese is its charm! I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a rom-com series this much. Probably in 2016 lol
I think there are some interesting ideas about relationships that are being explored here- it's just lacking execution! The weather metaphors were cute at the start, but now I want to see less of the 'romance' and more of the workplace!
Those ‘future’ scenes are so sus, not sure how much I trust them lol! Part of me wishes they didn’t scatter them and only had it at the start & end to tie it up together. I do think they’re important though- less for the end game and more for a meaningful message about what it means to look back on your youth.
Is the episode is connected one to another? Or can i just watch some episode with specific case??
You can sort of choose but honestly as soon as one case finishes, the last 10-20 minutes sets up the next case. So it might be tricky to separate the cases by episodes if that makes sense!
I’m much more invested to see how Hee Do and Yu Rim develops than what the end game might be haha. I love how it’s depicting a multi-faceted and complicated friendship between them!
I have a feeling they're still in negotiations about when to do this because they obviously want Song Kang involved but there's also a possibility that he has to go for military service soon.
IMO, if waiting means they can get a lot of the original cast on board, I'm up for waiting! I'm sure the original cast have to juggle a lot of commitments aha

…or wishful thinking on my part lmao
