You may have missed, if you rewatch initial episodes, Qian Hongzong /7th prince when we were first introduced to his character (when their father was still alive) he was the Deputy Commander of the Inner army, Eldest prince was commander of inner army back then,.after father died & Hongzuo was enthroned, Eldest prince was expelled from his position, Hongzong became the Commander of Inner Army. Then he Worked as a minister then a Chancellor over the span of 6 years. when hongchu was first appointed to military to distribute provisions, 7th prince was giving him insightful advices what to do & what not to do in the Army too (Ep 15) i quite liked those scenes, All Qian brothers bond were truly admirable...People don't remember noticing he worked in the Army for years bcz they didn’t show him armored in any scene or leading troops.

Adding to this, while Qian yuanguan was in reign, All Qian brothers adopted or blood related were in high rank Military positions,keeping a balance of power within the family & court and at the same time imperial family keeping stronghold in the overall military power too,if yuanguan knew Qian brothers were all such good siblings to each other, would he make a different choice of not advising hongzuo to snatch back eldest & 3rd brothers' military power? If they kept their positions, Hu jinsi wouldn’t Become so powerful by killing dai yun leaving the Field open,cheng zhaoyue wouldn’t get the trust of hongzuo & the overall empire probably wouldn’t fall into such a state. I'm quite sure this is what hongchu will decide, he'll reinstate his brothers in position for shifting the power to maintain balance

Generational Wealth + Generational Talent 🤝 = invincible

It was funny when i was reading some comments of cnetz saying this drama is being funded by Qian family descendants haha. Now why discrimination between Hongzong & the others 😵 All Qian King's are glorified except him,is it bcz he passed away leaving no kids behind so there's no descendants left from that branch of the family 😵 Thus getting sacrificed like that by the Writer, i felt bad lol

Butcher 'dialogue' happened in real history but it wasn’t like how drama has written the scene as.& In real history there were series of background events following to make sense of the butcher dialogue & also of Hu Jinsi's coup. Despite making sense, It's clear from history that Hu Jinsi staged the coup not because he was concerned about the well being of Wuyue state as It's fallen into a ruler he thinks is an unreasonable young brat (how the drama made it look like) but he did it for his own selfish reasons.

Coming to the drama, Hu killed Daiyun who was loyal to the country bcz Daiyun was a powerful official as same as him,eliminating him Makes the chessboard clear for him. When Hu didn’t get the recognition he wanted from Hongzuo, he didn’t dare to gamble with a treason plot to achieve power, but all these things are kinda glossed over by repeatedly telling the audience "he's a veteran of 3 generation of kings who founded the state bla bla".

Hongzong wasn’t anyone just playing around in the capital,he held high positions in the court for 6 years & previously was in the Military before that.Hongzuo relied upon him on many Matters & they were seen as each other's confidante in state affairs since hongzuo's succession of the throne.Although he was dim witted sometimes (Ep 21) & not soo competent like yuan Dezhao & shiuqiu zhaoquan, he was never a hot headed power hungry fool to suddenly start shouting at his officials at Day 1 of Regency. It's the same court session he attended for years as a minister & Chancellor & never misbehaved before. Even when he made an inappropriate comment on court at ep 21,when he realized he was wrong after Minister Wu told him, he immediately apologised to wu cheng and said ''I'm utterly ashamed" & reflected on it ...why'd he suddenly deal things like a dumb idiot?Shiuqiu zhaoquan was always on His/Qian Family's side since long before,why'd he need to make a proposal of marriage to seize his military power ro restrain Hu's? Then comes He chengxun's part,the last person he'd trust would be him, But he's now listening to his opinion to plot a open court assassination? this was very ridiculous and inconsistent with his character development for 26 episodes earlier.

The historical distortion made me so mad, then i tried to calm myself down by focusing whatever happened in the drama only, excluding the real history part but that also made me pissed off bcz the overall character build-ups of Hongzong don't go along with whatever dumb show he was orchestrating after becoming a Regent. Hu Jinsi's actions also seemed too impulsive considering how he was shown to be calculative & meticulous. i came to the conclusion that Hu jinsi is Writer's fav character and Hongzong had to become a scapegoat to pave the way for Hongchu's ascension of throne & called it a day.

Bai Yu did exceptionally well in Ep 30 court scene. First time getting goosebumps from his Acting...Ever since the young hongchu was replaced by the older one, Whenever ML shared screen with other characters,on some scenes i felt like Bai Yu is being a whole different existence than the others, it's like the rest is on a serious historical epic, he's alone in his idol costume drama trying to deliver lines. The only scenes he was blended well were all Qian siblings scenes. That questioned me multiple times whether it was a proper male lead cast or not. But better late than never, His Acting picked up in latest episodes & now I'm really immersed in his role.

The writer made Hu Jinsi A utilitarian anti-villain to justify his treachery & suddenly made Hongzong a complete lunatic to force a ''he's too competent now so ML has to intervene & take charge" plot to orchestrate Hongchu's ascension of throne. Qian Hongzong's character buildup for 26 episodes was totally not like this, it was already guessable that he wasn’t suitable to become a ruler,but the way to show him being incompetent should have been logical & balanced with his initial characterization. it made no sense whatever childish tantrums he was exhibiting after becoming a regent,

There were 2 major matters that i was particularly looking forward to in this drama ever since it started airing. First, the ascension of Hongchu by the coup deposing hongzong & secondly, wuyue's surrendering to zhao kuangyi. The way they handled the Prior, i'm seriously not expecting much from the latter either.

After episodes 27 28 29, i badly need Xie Huai'An's Shovel & request an audience with the scriptwriter.

Oh ok that makes sense then, no one would watch these super serious political schemes and killings on a long festival's occasion

7th prince's character isn't very well written, It's sometimes inconsistent & became a plot device of writer to write ML gloriously. He's suddenly (when needed) dumbed down to make 9th Prince look cool & clever. i don’t like it.

yes It's being aired on cctv1 prime time slot, but why rushing? the last drama that i know of aired on this time slot had only 24 episodes (The Miracles) but it took 22 days to finish. Last year Bailu's Northward also aired on cctv1 prime time slot, it had 38 episodes but aired for 23 days...while for swords into plowshares, it will already be 40 episodes within 16 days!

why are they rushing this drama to finish? 3 episode a day is a lot to catch up

That's 2019, Longest day in chang'An even had 600M, Rebel Princess had 700M.. I don't think in the last 3/4 years , Any production company ever risked even 400M (except probably joy of life S2, success was kinda guaranteed with the loyal fans of S1) Also, those dramas were filmed for longer episodes, NEF was done filming for 60+ episodes but later few episodes were cut, that obviously has something to do with budget. Anyways, before seeing the article, i also expected the amount to be much higher than 350 as they campaigned like It's a big big project haha
