i wanted to read a bit of chinese history of this era but I'm having a headache. why is there so many Taizong…
in case you missed, i'd like to add Emperor Taizong of Jin Dynasty who've ruled in late 11th century (& finally conquered the lands of north / khitan led Liao Dynasty)
Qing Dynasty had another Emperor Taizong too 😂😂
It's a common Temple name mostly given to the dynasty's second rulers, while the founder is often named as Taizu (zhao kuangyin will be Emperor Taizu founding song dynasty, and yelu Deguang's father was Founder of Liao Dynasty, another Emperor Taizu, there's other Taizu's too)

It's like how British empire have multiple George's, Edward's & other common names, but they have it as their real names so they've numbered them as 1st 2nd 3rd edwards, but for these Chinese emperors, all their real names & titles were different when they were ruling Emperors but they were given posthumous Temple names taizu /taizong in honor after death

I was a little surprised at how Shuiqiu Zhaoquan is portrayed in this episode after being shown as a skilled diplomat…
it was a diplomatic advice actually , for the time being at least, Hu jinsi gambled with the situation and attained what he intended to gain. If SQZQ didn’t manage to convince hongzuo & hongzuo decided to not trust hu jinsi till the end , Hu Jinsi would go extreme & the outcome wouldn’t be anything less than more chaos and rebellions, perhaps a regime change too

What kind of work does ML supposedly do? He spends the day with FL... is he unemployed? How does he make money?
ep 6 stated He's cut out from the 4th Division team recently and currently doesn't have a job 😅 he was switched with woo-seok about everything so i guess he just have the money wooseok left at that house, whatever the amount is 😅 his wallet with money was also left at that mountain with his ID card in it, i guess 8 tailed fox returned him the wallet but also spent the whole money inside it with That buffet and amusement park 😅

kinda same here...For the last couple of years, I lost interest in kdramas too as they started to Westernise them with Netflix & Disney taking over & losing the OG kdrama vibe, cutting down episodes with no depth in the story, repetitive hollow script with subpar idol actors, with nonsense hundreds of product placements & so on... Now i only watch 4/5 kdramas per year with selective screenwriters, directors or productions (glad few good quality ones still exist) the rest are mostly Cdramas or Some Korean Variety shows which are still good

Tbh i don’t actually find cdramas as "propaganda" material. Maybe i didn’t explore enough genres yet to find them, the dramas that were called as so called propaganda were mostly either nationalistic or patriotic to me when i tried watching them, never crossing the extreme limit to deliberately manipulate propaganda. while I'm not dismissing your opinion as maybe I'm just ignorant about this matter, i used to watch shows from West in childhood & as an early teen and after a while I found them extremely disturbing & annoying in propaganda section that i switched into Asian Dramas in one fine morning 10 years ago and never went back.

On August 2025, China’s National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) announced they will no longer strictly enforce the 40-episode limit for television dramas (Which was put in place in 2020).
While 40 episodes will remain the general benchmark, longer series may be approved through an expert review process based on subject, content, and need.

Her Condition is DID ( Dissociative Identity Disorder) in Medical terms. Symptoms include the presence of significant…
But DID treatment mostly doesn’t include being Hospitalized and taking medications, modern medicine don’t treat DID patients as psychotics and send them to mental Hospitals. No medications help too (unless some anxiolytics to keep them calm to prevent serious falls/life risks which wasn’t the case for Dorami, not all patients need them, some people went with their personalities without even knowing about their condition for years). It was Joo hojin who first forced her to see a Doctor, and he also made sure she met a psychiatrist after returning to Korea. it was shown twice that she was consulting with a doctor, repeatedly showing her consulting them would lose the focus of the drama as It's not a mental health documentary. Joo hojin wasnt 'playing along' with her, DID patients families are told by Health Assistants to treat the individual's personalities as like Their distinct natures, without interrupting with natural characteristics & by slowly going into the route cause of the trauma.,this is also part of the treatment. we saw him researching about DID by going into Libraries and he was reading about DID on books, that's probably how he realized what he should do. They just didn’t show us the elaborated "talk therapy " /consultations with psychiatrists.

If you interpret the knife thing as something life threatening and she needed to be hospitalized, that's not an invalid opinion, but It's also to be noted she never harmed anyone or herself & people around her didn’t even notice she was having this mental condition, this is often the case for DID patients, unlike Schizophrenic patients which often comes as a life threatening condition & needs hospitalization. this two conditions are totally different with different treatment protocols, for which DID leans more into psychological help by family members & dealing with the trauma
