Yeah it seems like a lot of historical watchers share your opinion. Personally I have a horrible attention span so if a limit on episodes makes the historical dramas more fast paced, then I wouldn't mind. It's a silver lining at least. I agree with you though that regulations on drama length are kind of stupid and just unnecessary in general.

If you watch the heirs like it's a makjang (Ik it's not quite the same) then it's pretty enjoyable actually

Yeah I see what you mean, I just looked it up. That's so odd, though, because most of the rumors are from 2020 and there's a cdrama called The Imperial Age that's currently airing and is expected to have 45 episodes... It seems like a lot more historical dramas are at or under 40 episodes in 2022 though. Weird, maybe it depends on when each of them started production

I read on the first season synopsis that he was looking for his reincarnated love? So maybe all 3 seasons are just a different reincarnation of her? I might be way off i don't know. If I'm right, then I would honestly love to watch this series.

I think calling it a masterpiece is a bit far fetched. It's a great drama but it has flaws too

Feels like his acting is the same in everything that he's in. Just really stone cold, mature, and emotionless. Can't tell if he's being typecast or is just a bad actor.

I think it's so popular because that synopsis is literally the most cliched romcom plot ever. You've seen it 1000 times and it feels like a safe, easy watch. Definitely gives me bad wattpad romance book vibes and i'm actually kind of here for it. It's nostalgic for me

amen! Really liking the Heirs atm for this exact reason. Expectations were way low because of those reviews but it allowed me to not take the drama too seriously and actually enjoy it
