I'm a bit sad none of the rappers on episode 2 got A. They gave very cool performances. Three of the rappers didn't…
I agree with you.
Wilbur was complaining about flow which I have no idea what he means when he says that. So I can’t weigh in.
Chris didn’t like the lyrics. Which is subjective but I also think for the other groups they went head to head. Only 2 or 3 act against each other. They pitted 5 rappers at once.
The first group were newbies, the second kid had rap or singing confusion.
The final 3 where solid rappers. But I think WD performance suffered from being before the last guy who was so emotional and meaningful.
I think the judges also had already felt WD was too arrogant from his media challenge and his performance was very big and cocky. Which for a rapper is good but I think they wanted to remind him that he was still a trainee.
I don’t speak Chinese . But I have listened to a lot of rap. The last guy had great lyrics based on the translation. I don’t think there was much slang. He was also a raw performer which touched a lot of people. However when I listened to his rap the first time without translation I didn’t feel anything. I just thought good rap but the voice isn’t distinctive. After I watched it with the translation I loved his performance and agreed with his B.
WB performance was good with or without translation. Also he’s got charisma. He could have gotten a B too. But I think it was his lyrics and attitude that got him demoted.
Yes with her math geek. He gets into an accident and falls into a coma going north to get her the "original gift" and she realises what a great guy he is. So she watches over him. Calling him her boyfriend when she runs into SHN. He wakes up and is touched by her devotion. So they are together in the end.
I love, love Zheng Muirei. He was the most watchable person on screen. I really felt ZMR and Luo Zhi had nice chemistry. They should do a show where they are the lead couple. Her reserved style works with his outgoing charm.
I agree about Ye Zhan Yan and her friend. I skipped their parts too. But spoiler alert: Ye Zhan Yan gets a happy ending.
And she never shows any remorse for her action. I think that was the most bitter part for me. The SHN was too nice to her.
Honestly I've complained about this show a lot. But I am not faulting the actors. I like most of the actors. I think they all gave good performances. They certainly did a good job at making me frustrated and angry.
But the director, writers, must all be romance haters, it was a melodrama that honestly sometimes didn't make any sense. They really pushed the theme of unrequited love. But they also could have also called this show abusive exes and lovers.
Both Ge Bi and SHN used the girls who loved them. SHN seem less aware of his abuse, while Ge Bi didn't seem to care. His girlfriend Mohan and Ye Zhan Yan were also abusive to the people who cared about them.
It was really toxic representations. I found it uncomfortable to watch. I know some of the plots came from the source material but this version was really messed up.
The lead couple in the 2019 had a more solid relationship before the family fiasco/cheating scandal. I think that made it more understandable that they would get back together after his problems had settled.
In the 2021, they are on again off again almost every other episode that I personally want this couple to never see each other again. Never get together and Luo Zhi to have no more feelings for him. He can pine for her if he wants.
The 2021 version honestly feels like an alternate universe.
I don't want to spoil it too much for you, but the leads aren't even together. They basically part ways and spend years apart. They only meet by chance at the end. The viewer is left to decide what happens next.
I can't tell that's really disappointing... They just want a typical ending where they let the viewers to have…
I didn’t need it to be a typical ending. But the last two episodes were a repeat of the entire series. I saw no growth. He made such a show of wanting to be with her but when he encountered a problem he abandoned her again. And she didn’t grow either she just decided to accept and wait. Bai Li and Ge Bi weren’t much better. She was still pretty devoted to him and terribly hurt by what his girlfriend did.
The only saving grace is both girls moved on professionally. But all the people who exploited their feelings and used them. What consequences did they experience? In the end only the friendships survived. This drama was an anti-romance.
38 episodes of emotional tortue without any satisfaction.
I have mixed feelings about drug scandals because it deals with addiction which is a sickness. I don't think blacklisting…
Accused rape cases are harder to weigh in. I did a rough search about how rape cases are handled in Korea, and it seems that it is very hard to get prosecuted for rape. Even the guilty seem to get very lenient sentences. However being alleged of something doesn't automatically make someone guilty either.
But to be clear I have no problem blacklisting rapist. If they are guilty.

Clearly the show runners were bias towards her.
