I have mixed feelings about drug scandals because it deals with addiction which is a sickness. I don't think blacklisting him really helps him, instead giving him rehab.
Not all scandals should be measured the same. I know in Korea there is a zero tolerance for drug use, and the industry there has their own way of dealing with things. But Hollywood has a lot of ex-addicts, famously Robert Downey Jr. Who did go to prison for a time. Also in South Korea Ju Ji-hoon was also part of a drug scandal. He was also blacklisted for a time but is back doing really great work. But his scandal was more minor I believe.
I don't think blacklisting is the answer. Although time off from a toxic environment would be good for addicts.
She didn’t call him either. She’s is just as much at fault. Her character is really immature - she doesn’t…
I also think she was fed up with chasing him.
In both version the ML takes his girlfriend for granted. He thought she would just follow him.
If they had more of a conversation, that's what would have come out. He just thought she would just come along. She would have felt his career was more important than hers. That he made decision without a thought to her circumstances.
They needed the breakup.
I am not sure this is really an issue of maturity or lack of communication. We have a girl who has loved a boy so whole heartedly their entire lives. She's been very open to him. She' basically changed her whole life for him.
But on a very bad day, when she needed him most, he put himself first. I know he was suffering too. But he usually kept his feelings to himself, and never gave her the security of knowing that he really loved her. Instead what he says is she is NOT A FACTOR in his decision.
Even on a normal day that's a bitter pill to swallow.
In their relationship, she's only been mad at him twice. Because he didn't vote for her for class leader and when he hugged that girl when she was supposed to confess. Both circumstances were reasonable for her to get mad. And in the end she forgave him.
Now think about how many times he's acted coldly to her, rejected her or made decisions for her.
Frankly he's lucky she liked him at all.
It wasn't covered in the Korean drama. But in the Chinese version the ML says in the drunk confession scene, he wonders why she even likes him. He was aware of his personal short comings.
I think letting him suffer a little is good for him. He's been idolised too long he's forgotten how to be kind to the people he loves.
And I think she finally learned to respect herself and not just lose herself in someone she loved.
There is an interesting case of harassment in this drama.
Li Wei Juan is a pretty girl in University.
At the university there is a controversial and avant guard lecture. Rumour had it that he had been demoted from assistant professor.
The lecturer in question, seems to go out of his way to help the female students in his class. He has this habit of getting overly involved with his students' problems.
One example of this is when he calls the police when he discovers that one of the males students is selling blood for money.
It's his nosy, often times pushy personality that is the issue.
To Li Wei Juan, she reads his behaviour as stalker-ish, and and she thinks he is sexually harassing her.
He thinks he is helping her. Checking up on her when she reports she is sick, always following her and asking about her. One day there is an incident. He wants to review her paper which was failed.
Mistake no. 1 he closes the door for the meeting. When he goes to open the door it's unexpectedly locked.
This causes Li Wei Juan to panic. She thinks he might molest/rape her and tries to go out the window. The lecture fearing that she is suicidal tries to hold her and essentially tackles her.
This reaction is his second mistake.
Because this is a drama, and they are making such a racket, the door is open just as the lecturer is on top of the students.
Li Wei Juan feels like he is sexually harassing her. I can completely understand her feeling this way. He was following her. He wouldn't leave her alone. She was made to feel uncomfortable.
However...he technically had no sexual intentions towards her.
It turns out the reason he was demoted before was he was part of scandal when a student died from suicide. I think because of that tragedy he was traumatised and worried that other depressed girls would try and kill themselves.
One of the reason he had been keeping such a close eye on Li Wei Juan was because he had seen her crouching alone in the rain, crying. From his perspective she was going through something terrible and was worried about her.
I felt sorry for the lecturer, as it seems he was kicked out of school and was being accused of sexual harassment. At the same time I feel like he was being misunderstood, and not given a fair trail.
Regardless of his intentions, she does feel harassed and I do think he is guilty of harassing her. But I still feel bad for him.
He clearly needs to learn out to better communicate his intention, and know when to back off when the other party doesn't want his help.
Anyways, I am only on ep 12. Who knows where this will go. I just thought it was an interesting case, because the case wasn't completely black and white and I was torn with the results.
.....Is that the episodes are so short - in time. The KDrama cuts to the chase a lot faster than the CDrama version…
I think if you are comparing versions I can see how you feel that way. But because I've already watch the Cdrama, so I can fill in the parts that are being cut out.
You seem to really hate it so I am not going to sway you. But I think it's a fun 20 break in my drama routine. I am not comparing this to Sky Castle or School 2007. Even comparing it to the original seems pointless since it's a shorter format.
they still not together also *facepalm hahahahahaha
I don’t think she can be with anyone until she loves herself more. But at the end of 28 Bai Li pretty much summarized herself.
She is happy knowing Ge Bi is happy. Her love is a giving kind of love that doesn’t take. She can’t ever win because that is how she loves. I was really sad for her when she said all of this. It shows strong her obsession is.
I hope we get a scene where Bai Li is finally angry at Ge Bi. And she shames him for all the terrible things he’s done to her. He’s frankly a crap boyfriend, even to his current girlfriend. Although he’s nicer to her than he is to Bai Li.
In an alternate universe. Ge Bi moves to the moon (or overseas). And Bai Li gets over her obsession of him. She mets someone who loves and appreciates her and who can teach her that love is a both give and take.
Maybe its the new rich guy, but that relationship already started out with a lie, so I doubt it.

I hope he does have feelings for her. I would be happy if he fell hard for her, and I don't care if she likes him back or not. Mostly I want her to treat herself better, and see what a scumbag Ge Bi is.
Is when she breaks up with him. I liked that in the cdrama version too. We spend most of the series seeing how devoted to him she is, and it's only after the breakup that we know his feelings.

The way the little robot was getting pressed to the grinder, I felt so bad.
