I like the framework of social classes too but I don't like how the lower classes are generally portrayed. Why are poor girls always coming from a bordello ? Why her manners be more crass. Is politeness only a trait of the rich?

Don't get me wrong I like Bai Lu's character, I am even glad we have a more brass, assertive type of female lead.

I am only annoyed at the common exaggeration that poor people lack manners or taste.

I wish the SFL and FL didn't have the stupid tension that they have. But the SFL is a snob, had they met first (with no male lead) I don't think they would have bonded, more than likely they would have offended each other. I don't think they have that kind of friendship chemistry.

I am surprised SFL likes the ML since he also had a poor background (she's clearly impressed his skills and good looks). At the same time realistically I would hate anyone who was getting the attention of the guy I've been in love with. (it's just realistic). Love can make people stupid.

I'm with you about SFL outcome, let her run her own empire and finds a guy who appreciates her strengths rather than become the villain or go crazy from jealousy.

I think Alan just needs better roles. I hope he's not sick in his next role. I don't even mind if he plays a villain.

it's confirmed twice. The princess tells the SML and the SML tells the Prime Minister. It all happened in the last 4 episodes (31-34). Sorry I can't remember which ones exactly.

We are near the end of this drama, and I am really enjoying how the story unfolds. The comedy and the drama really balances out. The action scenes are very cool too.

I've seem people picking on different details of the drama, but I just think it's a fun ride. I am going to miss this show.

the dreams are very misleading. So are the spoilers. The show has very few trustful characters, everyone except Rong's family seems to be up to something.

Yup. he even confirmed it with her grandfather. If he's a spy for the other side, he's quite the actor. Unfortunately I think he does have some feelings for his bratty, stupid, spoiled princess wife.

Now I am racking my brain for badass female villains. I did like the way Rong handled the princess after the mountain incident. She's not going to be a quiet concubine if she becomes one.

There seems to be a lot of dramas with hateful princesses. I miss the clever villain's. The tribe of the annoying stupid girls who are suffering for unrequited love is very tiring to watch.

I didn't mind FL tricks to get out the setup. It must have been tough in those days. Her parents mean well but it bristles to have no say in your own marriage. Technically I do think being a normal man's wife with be an easier life for her than a concubine of the Duke An or Su. But we all know it's not going to be an easy life for her. I hope her dream doesn't come true and she doesn't lose her whole family.

ep 11. I know the sister is the villain but I really feel bad for her. Her family really is sexist.

I enjoyed his character, it was a fun 2 episodes - Minus the princess and her consort -can't believe she's pregnant :(

I'm just wondering how they can all not be killed. Sometimes characters commit suicide because they don't want to face the executioner.

I don't like either mother or daughter, but I feel bad about how the SML is using her. It's funny because she started out as being described as being very smart, but she picks the wrong people to love. Her mom, the SML, whereas her father and sister cared about her so much.

I agree I don't think the step-mom will commit suicide out of remorse, but maybe out of cowardice. Or she dies trying to escape...or she faces execution (we will have to wait and see).

A'juan's dad though won't escape if his wife is prosecuted...that's what I worry about. He seems loyal to the end, and probably blames himself for loving his second wife more than his first.

It could go either way really :( I've never been so stressed for the last 6 episodes.

I think it has something to do with the military enlistment but it's always in happening near the end of the story. They don't even try to change the when the separation will happen. I love kdramas but I roll my eyes whenever this happens.

What's with Ling Wei character? Sometimes I pity her, and sometimes she creeps me out...I can't figure it out. - doesn't help that I don't speak chinese.
