People can be very mean and superficial. I think people forget it's a character she's playing, and they often style her in a more tom boyish kind of way. She almost never seems to wear makeup, and seems natural.

Your right though, the FLs gets a lot more flack for looks and performance than MLs do. I loved her in Ever Night, and she was really good in "The Best of You in My Mind." I do think she's getting type casted a lot. I'm glad this role is just about two people liking each other and there is no special power, or strange phobia.

Yah I'm not sure about that either. It probably is that princess is the prime minister's daughters child. Otherwise the PM would be king/emperor.

It is. I just wondered if I missed something in the translation. Like later in the episodes it translates him as cousin and not brother-in-law.

Hmm...it does seem a little confusing. Since the general was able to save Qing He by just marrying her and claiming the family (he would now be a brother-in-law to the "criminal"). They were pardoned for 3 days and after which time he would have to accept punishment as a member of the family.

I agree that the step mom is an issue if she is found guilty she might bring down A'Juan's family (father, half-sister and A'Juan). Can they get out of it if A'Juan divorces his wife? Alternatively if the step mom commits suicide?

One thing to remember the King (emperor) still owes the ML a favour. The ML could use it to save the clan's life.

I do think there is some affection coming from the SML. He did defend his wife when the ML was asking for FL (when she was being held captive).

My problem is she's a monster. I know there is a kissing scene but SML is probably going to be the ML tool of revenge. He's deep in the palace and the only person who can get to the Ghost tribe. That's my prediction anyways. Regardless he does a lot of awful things in the process, so he'd better be a spy for the good guys. Otherwise I say off with his head! (sorry I couldn't resist)

She's a good actress, I hate her more than her grandfather who technically is more evil. I hate her maid too, she gives her mistress the worse advice. I console myself by saying the ML has some grand master plan that will satisfy my need for justice.

Can't believe there are only 6 more episodes.

I suppose we should thank the annoying princess for helping our main couple get married. But I can't help but want to murder her...

If the brother-in-law is guilty of embezzlement, wouldn't the FL's family also be executed because of the family relationship?. They were about to wipe out her best friends family for the same crime...

The FL putting medication on the ML should haven't been so funny but it really was. I've had a burn it's hurts like the devil. Poor man

I know they all went down (via catapult) and I remember one of them dying, the rest is a blur. But I am sure Huo Yang didn't die. I would remember that. Luo Wu went back to the wall (via rope). I guess everyone else is either dead or still on the ground fighting after she told everyone to retreat. I will rewatch later, when the new episodes are up.

I really don't know why I keep watching this. It's like a guilty pleasure, it's so wrong but I can't stop watching. Mind you I am very grateful for the fast forward function.

FL - she's very pretty, and sometimes charming, but also very annoying. She pouts way too much for me.

ML - He's pretty immature as well. He constantly getting angry, and has very little trust. But he does spoil the FL. (people around her seem to do that - might explain why she is so foolish)

I do enjoy their bickering, for some reason the combination of the petulant teenager monarch, and simple child somehow works. (I feel like I need to check my head)

This show is like cheap bubblegum. It's sweet but leaves a bad taste in the end.

I didn't realise that most of them died? I only thought it was one member in that battle.

He changed the original scroll so that if it was stolen it would be useless. I think this was after the break in his tent.

He must have memorised it and decided to give it to the FL because he knew he couldn't use the 7 star sword himself. And he plans to marry her, so she is the next best thing.

However I think he's not allowed to pass it to someone who is not the leader of the sect, and that's why the SML is forced to essentially disable the FL and remove the Martial Arts from her (although she was just taking the punishment on behalf of the ML).

I thought she was deliberately insulting him? Am I wrong?

Honourable mention should go to her new disciples and their funny dance. That was sweet!

She broke it off with him very cooly and then rushed back to the army based. And then for about a week I think she cried her heart out. After which she put herself back together and learned some awesome martial arts and headed straight into war! She is a true badass!

I'm so relieved now that she knows.

Also the female general going into battle, despite being heartbroken. All kinds of awesome.

He got the assistent drunk on purpose for the code. Or he memorized the code watching him open it.

I enjoyed it. She's a good doctor (only more emotional than her ML). They are both mature characters who are good at their jobs.

There are some tropes here, where the ML is better at his job than the FL. But she's not stupid. It's a bit of a slow burn though. Not as much skin ship as "Love is Sweet" but I think that's because Jin Dong doesn't tend to get super passionate in his dramas. But they have a nice bickering chemistry and interesting challenges to face.

Side note: I find Chinese medical dramas tend to be less gory than Korean dramas. I don't enjoy watching surgeries.
