Oh for sure...I'm ok with not agreeing. I guess I was just giving it some thought. Or weighing in rather. I am happy to disagree. For instance, I like the male lead in this drama too. I've read many posts of people finding him stiff, but I like his dramatisation.

I think we are comparing Seven's character in Under the Power to this show? Seven plays a detective in that series, so she's not as naive as ZQH.
If we were comparing ZQH to Seven's character in "The Eight" there are some similarities, but their backgrounds are different. ZQH grew up with men and has both her parents. She is used to being adored and indulged. Seven's character I think was an orphan and her master was her parent. She grew up in a remote area primarily with women.
Seven's characters in general are not as trusting. Her characters' tend to be very suspicious and more streetwise.
ZQH is very trusting and relying on instincts. Based on this story, it seems she had a very happy childhood, and hasn't know much suffering.
I guess this is a type of characterisation of the tomboy strong female lead. Strong in martial arts, outgoing, and slightly naive.
To be honest when watching this drama, I didn't automatically see the similarities, but there are some. I'm not bothered by it. Because if we start dissecting more dramas, there are a lot of common characterisations.
I mean if we go there, how many cold ceos are out there? How many times do we see stupid females students paired up with genius boys? Or ML who have such insane OCD while the girl is such a mess even pigs would be offended with the dirt?
For me I am enjoying the male harem around ZQH. I enjoy this character Fair Xing is playing more than I did in her last two dramas. She's fun, and likeable.
The female villains (I'm taking about the cousin and Duke's daughter) make me laugh on this show. It's the ML who doesn't want to marry either of them and yet they are so relentless. Even though it's a cliche, they way they execute it is comical.
I wonder why in dramas they never take it out on the ML when they are rejected. It's always the girl? Maybe it's better to attack the rival.
she's definitely not a damsel in distress and though she does get help from other characters (like the ml and…
The issue with the drinking scene was she was invited by a senior/manager to attend an important client. Unfortunately in business these situations are common. And are very difficult to deal with. I've been marked in my work record by a manager once because I turned down going to these kinds of events "as not being enough of team player." In the drama they added extra drama, by having them pressure her into drinking so heavily. Which can happen.
She could speak up, or walk out but she is at risk of being criticised for not being capable of handling clients. They would have blamed her if the client got mad. It would not be a fair assessment but that kind of criticism does happen.
It's better for her if her manager steps in and handles the issue. Her manager is the one who should prevent such situation from happening to her. Her responsibility would to be report it. Or to have called him before going to the restaurant, and having him send an excuse for her absence.
I'd say a must watch if you love dance in general...I never considered myself to be into street dance, and, after…
No, I haven't watched the other season, I might try. I saw them on Hot Blood Dance Crew (2018). Jackson was on that show too. It's not as good because the rehearsal clips are long and they focused more on the attitude and drama of the contestants. (my opinion)

I've seen some of the street dancers on past shows. A lot of them have really worked hard to improve choreographed dancing. Especially the breakers and the b-boys. As well as Xiao Jie (I think that's his name).
I like that this show really spends time on performances, and battles, and not long winded clips on the practices.

I agree. If you enjoy dance, you will probably love this as well. Episode 10 when the incorporate other kinds of dances, was a lot of fun. The dancers are really skilled.
Am I alone in enjoying the fact that when they have to fight some big bad monster it's usually Xuan Ji in her (God of War) power that saves everyone?
I'm on episode 32 and I'm not sure how much more of Si Feng coughing up blood I can take. I feel really bad for the character. I've had to take a break every few episodes to recover from one of his near death experiences.
After a few days of thought (the story sticks to me like that) I do think CT had one very harsh punishment. It's not obvious, but MY said that CT didn't like anyone knowing about her past. That's one of the reasons she despises JJ's family and probably her own son. However without her even knowing, JJ had posted a story and it was trending, so that EVERYONE knew. Especially in in LX circle (his friends, his workplace, the coworkers she was trying so hard to set him up with)
The kind hearted person might say that CT has always been tormented by guilt, but I also think it was also pride and vanity.
I think she feels a huge sense of SHAME.
Anyways one of the reasons she may permanently stay in Singapore is to leave her past in China.
I don't think CT completely changes or heals, but I would describe it as a lost. She can't get what she wants.

@ArmieArmie I am very glad to hear that. I was so sad for him in Princess Silver.
